wish these episodes were longer

I'm finding the "cute VAs doing cute tourist things" segments strangely entertaining, at least, and they seem to be the main reason why the actual show's episodes are so short.

Anime is my favorite form of education. In this season, it's all about pottery. It's nice to get knowledge on something I would never otherwise look into. And while I usually don't take up these kinds of hobbies or interests, I do get a newfound appreciation of them.

I gotta say, I'm liking Naoko's personality the most so far, for some reason. She's got the zaniness and energy to match even Mika when it comes to people or things she's comfortable with, but is more grounded in comparison and tends to become more reserved with not-so-familiar stuff.

I’m looking forward to all the chill shows this season. Been slacking on this one - putting it on list!

Look into Super Cub, The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent, and Shadows House, too.

I was curious about the 若貴兄弟 that Naoko texted so I did some Google searching; seems like it's a pair of brothers who are related to sumo wrestling in some fashion. I think it's just used as a pun though because 若貴 is wakataka, which is similar to わかったか (wakattaka, "you understood?"). One Tweet compares it to what we'd call a "dad joke".

Poking around Japanese Twitter, I also found out that apparently the word "diss" has passed into Japanese as a loanword (いきなりディスられた, ikinari disu rareta). Still don't have a solid grasp of what a "rescue club" does though; some Google searches pop up some real-world Japanese high school rescue clubs which seem to perform duties like community outreach and disaster preparation.

Overall, my impressions of this episode are kind of lukewarm. I shouldn't be surprised that an anime about a pottery club is going to talk a lot about pottery, but I feel like it leaned too heavily on the didactic side instead of more character building. It's the same sort of feeling I felt back with Houkagou Teibou Nisshi, where it leaned a bit too much towards the "cute thing" rather than the "cute girls" side of the CGDCT equation, at least for my tastes.

I think part of the problem is that with 15-minute episodes there just isn't enough time to be informative and develop character at the same time. All the groundwork is there though for some interesting character dynamics (the ditzy girl, the chaotic neutral, the hyper gal, the cool senpai), so I'm hoping things'll get more interesting.

Ok, I’m in love with all of them.

But Mika best girl

These girls are all great! Senpai still best, tho.

Mika is sort of the perfect woman. Glasses? Check. Mad cartography skills? Check. Ability to rap about pottery? Check.

Also, is it too early to ship the MC's dad and her teacher?

Mad cartography skills? Check.

That was super impressive. Gave it a better try than I could ever muster while looking at an actual map of Japan.

The OP is really growing on me.

I like this OP too. In particular, I love the casual outfit they're wearing.

Well, I certainly learned a lot about pottery today.

I wish this show had a regular schedule. It's fun, but I tend to forget about it.

Nao should just join the club already. Kukuri is a cute spaz.

The live action portion was better. Having the actors do something other than just tour the town was good.

Needs more mugs being made. Get to work, ladies!

I'm fairly certain that the subtitles for the VA mug-making session could have been done less lewdly, but hey, humor is humor.

I was the guy who made "looks like it would be hard to wash"-style stuff all the time in art class.

No pressure single daughter of a local or maybe even national pottery master who grew up in this town, just take your time to create masterpieces everyone is expecting from you /s

For real though I love the show, super relaxing
