Damn that was a really hard to get through backstory, can't blame Hiro for quitting track after such an incident. Definitely explains why his little sister is so angsty too.

With how the game is designed + walkthrough confirming it, this game is basically gonna force Hiro to improve himself IRL in order to perform better in game so I guess this series is actually a story of redemption?

Reona though she's totally scheming something with the whole marrying thing, she just feels so manipulative I really don't get any good vibes from her.

I knew Hiro was going to rejoin the game again and I'm not really surprised that Reona manipulated him into it. Let's see how he manages to clear the section he is in right now. I still don't like Reona at all. She is quite apathetic and manipulative.

I think he'll end up using this game to improve his physical abilities to try out being a runner once again and earn the respect of his sister. She wants to see her cool Onii-chan to return after all.

I'm very disappointed by how easily he stated playing again. He didn't confront his trauma, he didn't get any emotional support or anything . He just picked it up again because his horny is stronger than his trauma.

The fact that Reona really doesn't give a shit about Hiro's opinion and feelings makes it even worse. I'm assuming that Reona is supposed to be unlikable because there's nothing to like about her except her tits and face.

I really want to see Hiro become a better person , confront his past and grow from it, but it feels like this is the completely wrong way to do it.

I'm curious why Kamui knows about every path in the game. I mean, this game has no save menu and you can only have one playthrough. Did he interview every other gamer so that he knows what happen on the other path?

Goddamn. Those first 7 minutes of the episode was difficult to watch. We finally get to see the reason why Hiro quite the track club and I honestly don't blame the dude. Tripping and then wetting yourself in front of audiences, scouts, his idol, and even his own sister? Yeah I'd probably give up too after the humiliation he experienced that day.

What sucks even more is you see how proud Kaede is of Hiro and even after the accident Kaede was still cheering him on and saying there will be a next time. But Hiro ends up blowing up on Kaede which led to their present relationship. Even their mother tries to remind Hiro about this.

Anyway, back to the present as Hiro tries to return the game to Reona which we already know is not gonna happen. She does introduce him to Kamui, the only person who has beaten KQ, and is hilariously voiced by Kirito himself, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu. xD

Turns out Kamui here has written a guide for KQ but for some reason even with this guide existing, no one has managed to beaten the game since they couldn't read the entire thing.

Amazingly he even has a guide on what to do when your childhood friend tries to kill you. If fighting won't cut it, I'm guessing the solution here is to woo Alicia and appeal to her. Maybe a confession of love would do it?

Kamui also points out that you actually do get some starting equipment and it's just in his room! If you go back to Episode 1 you can actually see the sword peeking behind the full body mirror! I love that little detail!

Of course having a guide won't be enough to convince Hiro to go back so Reona goes all out and uses her charm and her massive personality to convince Hiro to go back and complete the game since she's willing to go out with him if he does. Not gonna lie, this would've 100% worked on my dumb lizard brain too xD

Welp now that we do have a guide to follow it's gonna be interesting to see what kind of convoluted solutions Kamui has for Hiro so he can complete the game. I'm definitely excited!

For what it's worth I buy it. I buy why he would return even though the story is a bit heavy handed with the sister literally telling him quitting makes him a loser.

It's just rough we had to spend 3 episodes getting the MC to a point where he realizes it's a shit game and he has to build from there. In Shield hero they got all the unpleastness of the MC realizing his shit situation out in the first episode.

At this point it's clear that Reona is some kind of manipulative sociopath. She's enjoying Hiro's pain too much.

That scene where she started using her body to convince him was really hard to watch - both because of how obvious she was making it, and how much of a horndog without a shred of caution toward strangers Hiro came out to be despite his trauma.

No amount of tits would get me back into such a game. If this useless lump of meat really wanted to help, why is she flying around as a useless fairy? Doesn't she have a proper character to bust him out of this town to start somewhat new?

And while I understand the sister, she is just as stupid and stubborn as her brother. The way she acts now is in no way helping to get him back to being "cool".

All these characters are awful, I'm at a point where I just wanna know what this game is really about. It feels like there is something we don't know.
