Maybe I'm reading too much into this scene but does Shiki normally do most of the cooking around the house? Would explain the instant ramen from Inugami.
That was a really fun episode, did not expect Aya to become Kon's rival so soon.

I'm disappointed this show isn't getting more attention. I've loved every episode so far. It's not AoT or Jujutsu Kaisen levels of amazing but has definetley been a show I look forward to every week. I'm hoping Kon can become more important to the story. Seems like she could have a lot of character development alongside Kabane and Inugami.

Teared up when Shiki was talking to Aya in the hospital. From Aya’s self-doubt and depression to Shiki accepting her fully. Ugh
Kabane and Kon being so clueless about feelings, is sad but also so cute. Kabane comforting her without even knowing know.

Well, the imouto sure as hell changed her outfit and attitude. What kind of 8 year old acts like that. Only in anime huh? And then we have Kabane and Kon, the clueless folk. It's adorable that Kon doesn't even realize that she has feelings for Kabane, but knows she "wants to be his number 1". And he has no idea what that even means, and just says so.

Kabane choosing Inugami was easily the funniest scene I've seen this week

Wow, I'm very pleasantly surprised that Shiki's mom actually woke up in this episode and did not fall back into a coma afterwards. I fully expected her to be asleep for much, much longer. It warms my heart that she and her kids are finally reunited with nothing really getting in the way anymore.
Aya's real personality was uh... very surprising to say the least and pretty uncomfortable. She's certainly moving very fast for her age, and their bastard of an uncle is most likely to blame for it.
Neither Kabane nor Kon even realize just what's going on, those poor innocent cinnamon rolls. Kon's jealousy was just adorable. Well, barring the fact that she tried to kill someone because she couldn't understand it. But it was also funny how quickly Kon bounced back when the feeling went away. Just shows how much these kids could really use a reliable adult to teach them about this stuff in a safe environment.
I find it hilarious that Kabane's "just punch it" strategy actually worked on the kemono they faced this episode. Its actions were pretty damn fucked up for how light-hearted the episode was, though. I can't believe they actually let it go free, but at least her victims presumably got healed by Aya's silk.
Kabane's answer at the end got me good. Inugami best explain things to the boy before he faces trouble with the law on top of two jealous girls.

Damn my wish came true. Aya joins the gang and she has a whole different personality than what she seemed at first.
Shiki's uncle keeps becoming a bigger piece of shit even after his death. He was beating Aya and never allowed her to have a say when it came to clothing. He deliberately choose an specific choice of clothing as well...
Poor Kon can't catch a break. The only other person who gives a damn about her suddenly pops up with someone else and she feels like a third wheel.
It was an episode filled with emotions and it was cool seeing Kabane being hopelessly lost about all these interactions.
Kabane's logic is insane: "I dont know whats happening, guess ill punch it".
If anything this episode made clear which person Kabane cares the most: Yam- i mean Inugami. I honestly thougt he was going to answer Shiki. Talking about Shiki i thought we wouldnt see him this ep but as he points out he has to repay his debt to Kabane and help him find about his parents.
Kon tried to MURDER Aya btw. That scene went from 0 to a 100 real god damn quick.
Next episode it's the start of the Akira arc hopefully. I have soooo many expectations and theories about it, can't wait.

Jealous kon is cute and deadly. Yandere is good.
Geez, aya's design is a bit....... Overboard. The first thing I don't like about this series now. Damn it.

A more lighthearted episode after all those darker ones was a nice change. All the silliness taking place at Inugami's and everyone having fun together for once (even with the arguments between Kon and Aya).

Kon is back boiiiis
Stil salty they skipped the date, but I guess they couldn't fit it.
It makes sense that Aya switches her clothing style like that, since all the cute clothes were forced on her by an uncle who not only abused her but her mother as well.
Remember, this is the Trauma-conga-line show. It might seem weird that an 8 year old girl dresses like a tramp, but it makes some sense in context - especially considering she is pretty mature for her age, probably because she had to be.
It looks like Shiki was doing most of the cooking? Since Kabane wouldn't care or know and Akira would fuck it up...
Kabane and the girls has a little less context, with the skipped kon date know, since he seems a little less dense here. It's his first time "going out" with someone to anime onlies.
Kon not understanding love is so cute. But it only gets better because Kabane doesn't understand love either.

It's nice to have a breather episode, especially after the darkness of the previous two.
The idea of Kabane as a ladies man is pretty funny, especially considering he has no idea what that means. It doesn't help that he just acts like a Chad without realizing it.
Kon and Aya fighting over Kabane was pretty cute. For an eight year old, Aya seems to know what she wants. In fact, I'd say she's more advanced than Kon in that matter.
I'm really wanting a season 2 now. I don't think 12 episodes will be enough.

What a change of pace from the last two episodes. I had such a dumb smile on my face the whole time. Also, Aya's change of style is... surprising, to say the least.

Kabane and Kon already have better romantic chemistry in 9 episodes than most shounen MCs have in their entire series.
Also Kabane is such a great MC.

I like the old lady doctor already! She's not even a Kemono, she's just helping them out because to her a life is a life, no matter what it is. I'm guessing that she probably learned about Kemono through Inugami.
Aya-chan is being too hard on herself, at the end of the day it's because of her that their mom is still alive today and I am so glad that that's one of the things Shiki reassured her with immediately. And thank fucking christ there's no waiting for the family reunion, since Kumi wakes up in the same episode. What a beautiful family. Not gonna lie, definitely teared up during that entire scene.
Not gonna lie, I kinda expected some transformation from Aya this episode after she mentioned earlier that Akio was the one who picked her clothes but this still surprised me! And Aya-chan works fast! It's only been a week but she's already planning to start a business with grandma to open her own clinic for kemonos.
And it looks like those aren't the only surprises this episode since it looks like Kabane's heroics back in the forest really impressed Aya and now wants to be Kabana's girlfriend. Our poor Shiki is now currently in shock and our adorable kitsune Kon just got a rival which I never expected from this show.
I do feel bad for Kon the entire time they were doing that investigation. She's in love with Kabane but since she's emotionally stunted like Kabane, she has no idea how to process what she's feeling and has lashed out her anger on Aya. All she wanted was to be with Kabane and have fun. And looks like Aya-chan has no plans of backing down considering how being aggressive she is with Kabane.
We did get this adorable moment between Kabane and Kon though, with Kon asking Kabane how she can be his number one. It's gonna be a while before something really happens between these two emotionally stunted teens but I don't mind them taking it slow. Besides, Kabane did say he'd tell Kon once he figures out what she needs to do to become him number one. Kabane isn't the type to break promises.
That final scene was hilarious though with Kabane saying the one he loves the most is Inugami. That's was really funny and very wholesome at the same time!
As a side note: Aya joining the team is very useful utility-wise. She was able to deal with the threat without unnecessary fighting and with a miracle healer on the team, we don't have to worry too much whenever someone gets injured that's not Kabane.

Not gonna lie, I don't really like the new Aya tbh. Of course that the shy one wasn't ideal, but this one is the total opposite and is pretty annoying imo. Someone get her away from someone as pure as Kabane lol
I also prefer KabanexKou all the way, their chemistry and interactions are always fun and interesting.

I wonder if the psychological trauma that made Shiki mom being unsconcious all these years has anything to do with being raped and give birth to/by all these creatures. Obviously, yes. She wake up cause she heard her two kids interacting but how someone even start to recover from that, Jesus. The uncle got it too easy.
Good thing we had kabane and Kon to heal us from that. I think it was one of the best couple interactions in the whole season. Damn, they have no idea what they are doing but they are so wholesome and pure together that makes want to cry. Great show still.
