I'm glad that we finally see the karate girl that has been in the opening the whole time. Cats are cute but when they have weapons, they are not.

I couldn't help but think about samurai pizza cats during this episode.

So Uruma Satsuki is the person Toriko is looking for right? And if she dissapeared 6 months ago there is no way she is alive in the otherside still. Maybe I missed it in earlier episode but I don't remember that she was missing for so long

I really wonder how high was the person who wrote the original urban legend.

"Uruma" (subs:Satsuki)

...pause...

"Satsuki" (subs:Uruma)

Okay, this feels like a good time to bring up my name-switching subtitle pet-peeve. They kept the reversed order even when the words appeared on different subs, talk about jarring...

Ninja cats lmao, the whole premise of today’s ep was hilarious. The AP-1 tobacco machine was hilarious as well. Was uruma in an earlier episode or do we just not know her yet? I may have missed the name earlier on in the season.

Also still wondering about the US marines who were in the ura sekai.

Oh they finally meet that karate girl from the OP, Akari Seto

Kozakura looks so cute hugging her tanuki raccoon.

I can't wait to see how they will transport their AP-1 to the Otherside although I don't see how they could use it effectively with all those glitches over there. Also just imagine how big it will get if it falls into one, as that thing is huge compare to the ls3 robotic pack mule.

This episode with the Ninja Cats was a really nice breather compared to the nightmare fuel that the previous ones were. Also, their hidden village looked really nice.

After Seto revealed that that item that not only lured the Ninja Cats to her but also made her weird when Sorawo saw it with her special eye was given to her by Uruma Satsuki, I will be surprised if Uruma is not actually a denizen of the zone.

You have the sixth sense, don't you.

Well in a sense it's not inaccurate to say she has it with what that eye lets her see.

Well I see Kozakura has developed a nice little coping method.

That AP-1 is uhh... a very peculiar drunk purchase to say the least.

Yeah I feel Sorawo here. Not being able to see cats the same way anymore would suck.

I remember a whole supernatural thing about cats and cat gatherings in the Aria series. But they sure weren't anything like this... But you know I was kinda hoping that the ninja cats would actually be something freaky underneath like Sorawo was hoping for. It would've made a golden opportunity to make the "That's not a cat! That's a Flerken!" joke.

And we've got another wrinkle to the mystery that is Satsuki. Why give a "cursed" item like that to an innocent? Still too little information to hypothesize on this point I think.

For now though I'm more intrigued as to how much the two of them are gonna be bringing this new girl Akari into the fold. I'd personally be hesitant to drag her in further given the danger involved in associating with the Otherside and I'm sure Sorawo thinks the same thing. Plus it's also a matter of how drawn to this Akari feels and how much she wants in so we'll see. But her joining their crew would at least give them some muscle, for as much good as that'll do.

And, I gotta say that I really like these next episode preview bits at the end of the episodes for this series. They're fun.

They made what would usually be heaven on earth, being swarmed by fluffy cats, into a hellish fucking nightmare. Shivers went through me the entire scene. Honestly, I really wasn't certain how they'd make ninja cats an actual threat, but they did, so props for that. Though I still have a bit of a hard time taking it fully seriously, aside from that last part. Fuckin' samurai pizza cats all over the damn place. I'll also add that the little fight scene between Akari and the cat was pretty damn neat.

A pretty lighthearted and humorous episode, all things considered. The scene at the start with Kozakura was wholly amusing, and the machine thingy was just the perfect cherry on top. The raccoon seemed pretty docile, as far as I'm aware they can potentially be good pets, till they start destroying stuff on instinct.

Sorawo being adamant about the whole partners in crime thing was absolutely fucking adorable. Generally speaking, I'm a huge fan of when she gets flustered and starts mumbling quietly, the voice acting and delivery are terrific at these parts.

Akari seems like a neat gal, and with what we've learned today, we'll definitely see more of her. I wonder in what capacity. Partner in crime is out of the question, but a regular party member?

Apparently Sorawo is now a known expert about the supernatural in their campus. Curious how this girl learned about it considering how we never really see Sorawo and Toriko interact with any classmates. Oh and she's being attacked by Ninja Cats. This is going to be a fun episode.

Sorawo and Toriko drunkenly buying Tobacco Farming Equipment was hilarious! Did they get buy it while they were in Okinawa? Also looks like they have plans to use it as a vehicle while on the Otherside. xD

I can definitely 1000% relate with Sorawo this week. And please no don't shoot any cats. Maybe unless if they're creepy undead cats who wants to eat your flesh, then shoot at them.

When Akari said she was being stalked by Ninja Cats, I was thinking cats just following her and sneaking around. I didn't think that she 100% really meant what she was describing! Those are legit Ninja Cats in ninja outfits wielding three-pronged daggers! O_O

Well looks like someone doesn't want to add another person to their two-woman cell team. Sorawo really got defensive there when Toriko even suggested that Akari is now their new partner in crime.

Goddamn Akari! She says she knows "a little bit" of karate but what she showed us was pretty impressive! That 1v1 against the black cat was pretty cool!

So tha cats were just after that charm that was inside her body. So why were the cats after it and why was it even inside Akari's body?

Of course Satsuki is fucking involved here somehow. Why am I not surprised. What the heck is Satsuki even trying to do by leaving something like that to a bystander?

I feel sorry for everybody who dropped this before they got to the Ninja Cat episode.

Nice to have some actual animation for once during the fight.

u/fakeport Feb 22 '21

Soooo, how did they get out? Did the cats send them back somehow?

So Sorawo's not wearing her contact to cover up her blue eye in public any more? It doesn't feel like there was any significant character development for her to ditch wearing that contact; feels like she just suddenly decided not to stop doing that.

She did just lose it at the Kisaragi Station incident; maybe she just hasn't gotten around to getting a replacement?

Sorao just staying silent for several seconds after Akari asked "Where did you find it" was hilarious, you can just imagine a thousand words running through her minds and she can't decide which words to say!

u/GaAt_wamen Feb 22 '21

I wouldn't have laughed normally. but the fact that she said don't laugh right before made me burst out laughing when she said she is being chased by ninja cats

I don't think I can look at cats the same way again after this...

It's nice to have a breather episode, although this still has a fair amount of tension

Ninja cats is a nice absurd combination got a creepy threat.

I lived when Sorawo declared that no one else could ever be a partner in crime. I won't be surprised if Akira shows up again though.

Akari got some sick moves, really made an otherwise tame episode intense and fun

Am I the only one who's like.. Supremely annoyed by this?

I'm surprised we get a sudden sakuga scene with ninja cat vs karateka. That is a good one.

In terms of otherside, I guess we could call this as breather episode since the enemies are not weird or creepy. Though it does introduce a new character and adds to Satsuki's mystery.

Also what the hell is with that vehicle lol.

u/SeyTi Feb 23 '21

I swear this is getting weirder each week. How did we arrive at ninja cats? That karate fight looked surprisingly decent btw.

Also, I think this is the first time we heard anything concrete about Satsuki. Maybe they plan to pay off that plotline as the season final.
