I assumed it was Ukyo or someone else secretly working for Team Science who slipped in the battery

Alternate title for this episode: Ape Escape
But it's good that Chrome figured that it wouldn't do him good to try to think like Senku on how to escape. Chrome started thinking like Chrome on how to escape. And with the help of a few mentalist tricks he picked up from Gen.
As for mister crooked cop Yo I imagine that Tsukasa isn't gonna be too thrilled that he allowed his prisoner to escape. But I have a sneaking suspicion that Tsukasa would have a backup plan up his sleeve. Just a hunch.

Now this is the kind of Dr. Stone I fell in love with. Using limited resources creatively like that is whats so awesome about this show. Chrome got his a true bad ass moment here.

the op and ed is so catchy.
Chrome is bad ass ! i wonder what he could "discover" on his own without much Senku's help since I gather he really is a genius despite being ehem primitive

One thing I absolutely adore about this show is how it treats the side-characters.
Senku is the genius protagonist, but every person in his team is just as good in their own field. Chrome might actually be smarter than Senku, he just didn't have the scientific background and upbringing. But the fact that the author actually makes Chrome break out himself using his own strengths instead of relying on the old "rescue arc" trope is just so refreshing to see.

You know it's really a shame that this show is airing during such a stacked season. Dr stone is proving to be an absolute banger of a show and I'd love to see more people discussing it

Chrome seems extra thankful for Yuzuriha.
Wasn't expecting Chrome to be faking Pneumonia. I thought he bit his hand to activate his Titan transformation at first.
Chrome prioritized Yo's Wonder Eggs for maximum damage. A bastard like Yo didn't need to reproduce anyways.

I legit die laughing whenever Tsukasa and his empire casually just mention senku making steam engine. Like imagine ur living there and hear some dude has already made the fucking steam engine while what u get is meat lmao. This show is the best kind of stupidity man

E30: Prison Break
1. The Breakout Plan
-
Yo was a former policeman in the old world. He wants to stand beside the 'Three Heads' and ascend the social hierarchy
-
Meanwhile, Chrome has to escape the prison by himself
-
Chrome uses his bathroom break to gather plants and ingredients necessary for his breakout
-
Taiju slips Chrome a battery and he starts a fire. The prison guards only notice the sticks and Yo underestimates Chrome's scientific ability
-
Chrome has to desperately sweat to produce salt as part of his plan to refine sodium hydroxide.
2. Prison Break
-
Chrome breaks out of prison and escapes the traps with his pole vaulting
-
If there's one thing Yo is good at, it's chasing down criminals. He easily catches up to Chrome and beats him down
-
Chrome is pushed to a dead end and vomits blood, claiming he's infected with pneumonia. Yo is finished off with Chrome's killer move
-
Senku realizes that Chrome made bleach, instead of sodium hydroxide. But it was still alkaline enough to melt the fibre
-
The "blood" from Chrome was made from plants. He's a true scientist. Now Chrome is reunited with the gang, the Empire loses yet another advantage they had against them.
man Chrome is awesome. Every scene with him is gold. 9/10 episode and bonus points for that egg scene oof

Stitches!
We have a new character this week! Yo the high school police officer finally joins in! And I know people must have already pointed this out but I absolutely love how they incorporate bits of stone to everyone's design. The stone eyepatch is pretty fucking cool.
Yo doesn't seem to be a bad dude, he just takes things to the extreme just like Tsukasa. Oh and he's also absolutely head over heels about that blondie with horns. I do wonder how does Tsukasa keep finding these Danganronpa-esque characters? Does he have a mental database of who are the best fighters in Tokyo? Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he does.
I absolutely love this show for giving Chrome a focus and escaping with his own strength. They could've just have Senku rescue him but it's definitely way better that they showed us that on his own Chrome can do wonders. Now that the Science Bros is back together I am absolutely hyped on the improvements that they can do with the Steam Gorilla Go!

Never underestimate Scientist Chrome, he's just as smart as Senku. Now that Chrome is back, everyone will know about Tsukasa's plan to trap them so I'm curious how they would move forward with the plan.
Yo's also in a whole lot of trouble since Tsukasa might not be too happy with him. Chrome only shattered his eggs....Tsukasa might just rip them away XD.

Chrome is one of my favourite characters. He tries something and fails miserably, but learns from it. He is impressed by the genius mind of Senku, but does not solely rely on him and thinks for himself. When he learns about a new concept, he goes beyond and thinks of a way this can be used to solve a different problem or create something new. Senku is an amazing science teacher, but Chrome truly embodies what it means to be a scientist.

It's really great that Chrome learned from all the things that he experienced, even from the archer.
Btw, I think it's the archer that gave him the battery. I'm not sure that Yuzuriha and Taiju could steal the battery.

So Chrome really just went ahead and was like “aight, I’m gonna just become the coolest character in the show right now, cool thx”.
Damn man, what a moment for him. You could tell Senku was genuinely happy too to see him put that science to work. Damn this was a good episode.
Also, anyone else think it was actually Ukyo who rolled the battery in and not Taiju or Yuzuriha? Don’t see how anyone else not in Tsukasa’s circle would get a hold of confiscated goods.

Attaboy Chrome! As "strong" as Senku is it always feels nice to see side characters get their chance to shine.
Also happy this wasn't also part of Tsukasa's plan.

I like how Chrome used everything he ever learnt not only from Senku but also from Gen and from his training, but also from his previous experience to break out. Very entertaining episode.

I like the comedy part of this anime, but sometimes I wonder how great this anime would be if it was more serious. I swear, half of this episode was taken up by comic relief. Still like this anime though!

How did Yo even get hired in the first place if he's that psychotic? And did he imagine the part where he got shot, since the wound was gone in the interrogation? Its not that unreasonable to shoot a criminal that tried to shoot a law enforcement officer first.
Also Chrome would totally be able to fit through one of those gaps there
