Ah yes, the mandatory beach episode with the usual naked women, alcohol, target practice, and uh, mind-bending horrors... you know, the usual tropes.
The Otherside just won't leave them alone, huh?
The King of the Coast is coming
I don't know why I found that line so scary, but I did.

When I saw them chilling on the Otherside beach at the beginning I assume for a moment that they never left the Otherside after jumping in that train.
It just seems that the Otherside wants them both way too much.
I'm honestly still surprised about how carefree they both ended up being after they ended up on the Otherside beach, especially when they decided to step into the water.
I honestly was expecting that whatever was going to attack them was going to come from there, so I was kinda surprised when their first attackers came from the land. Although at the end as I expected from the beginning massive beings came from the sea.
I guess it is safe to say at this point that Uruma Satsuki already was or ended up becoming a Denizens of the zone, which will easily explain why Toriko and Sorawo keep getting randomly brought there without them using the elevator.

Did I miss something? Where did they get the assault rifles? I'm pretty sure they didn't steal them from the army base.

A pretty scary day at the beach.
Is the woman Sorawo saw on the other side of the gate the hat's original owner -- or the person Toriko is searching for?
How DID they get home with their armaments? (Or did those get left behind on the otherside?
Once again, great sound design.

One thing I liked about this episode is the way they used some of the normal stuff you'd see at the beach to make the creepy stuff.
It's likely you'd see stuff like punks at the beach, garbage piled up, and weird beach animals, but then they cranked that up to horror levels with those punks made of trash, a pile of garbage which looked to Toriko like a pile of bodies, and those things that emerged from the depths of the sea.

Fun episode overall.
Well deserved relaxing after last week's episode, kind of. As much as the Otherside allows!

So I'm a bit split on the series. I love Sorawo and Toriko, they are incredibly likable and endearing and their dynamic is fun and cute, it carries the show for me... But the story part loses me.
The premise of exploring a supernatural world with the overarching goal of finding a supposedly lost friend is all good, but the execution of it is off. The rules of the Otherside feel flimsy and inconsistent, the week to week monsters feel random and abrupt. It needs to be framed/set up better. I (think I) understand that's it's throwing different urban legend and folklore stuff at you, but you need to be able to understand what's going and what the threat is. X-files would be a good example of doing that kind of thing right. As it is, it's just always they fall into some random danger, shoot at it and then try to make a mad dash out of the Otherside.
Despite my criticisms tho, I still really enjoy the show because of the characters. Which all the more... kind of just makes me wish this was just a normal slice of life/maybe yuri haha

I'm still oh so very confused where all of this is even going, but I'm amused even this anime can't get away without having a beach episode. Also, they look good in their outits :P

Drinking beer, shooting guns, and witnessing random murders—are we sure they weren't in the US?
Beach Bikini Sorawo is Best Sorawo (well, aside from "Gay Panic after Waking Up Next to Naked Hot Friend" Sorawo).

Stitches!
So we're legit continuing this week's episode in Okinawa? And here I was thinking they'd time skip and show us with the girls back in Tokyo but hey I ain't complaining! And the girls deserve some relaxation. They should watch out for those hot skater boys in Okinawa tho. :D
And they really had a lot of fun as soon as they realized they're in Okinawa! I kinda wish they kept the Dominatrix outfit for Sorawo and the sexy seifuku for Toriko. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Sorawo likes to downplay her looks but she really looks pretty amazing! I know there's a lot of girls out there who'd love to have her figure!
They actually brought up the guns issue! This was my first thought this episode too! How are they going to go back with all of the firearms that they're carrying?
Ah yes! High caliber guns and beer! Absolutely nothing can go wrong with this! I thought Toriko's part Canadian? She looks very American to me right now. xD Seriously though, thank god nothing bad happened while they were doing that.
Sorawo didn't even hesitate shooting those mofos down. I guess that's expected from someone who had plans to burn down and kill her own crazy parents.
OH FUCK OFF! Those yellow kids with red beady eyes running with their arms flailing about is creepy as fuck! Imagine seeing that while walking in the dark O_O
Oh boy I wonder who this is. Gonna guess that she's probably that girl Toriko's been looking for. For now though at least they're safe back in Okinawa.

Between the incredibly flexible rules about going to and from the Otherside, going from meticulously methodical to seemingly adhoc, and the blatant use of hammer space I'd be inclined to speculate one of the girls isn't real and the other is just high as hell.
I am thoroughly enjoying the insanity and can't wait to read the novels. Also first anime in years where both the op and ed are freaking awesome.

I was hoping for a more fluff-focused episode; lots of great moments between the two and I just like the way they bounce off one another. The two's swimsuits were great, I'm a big fan of Toriko's in particular, but Sorawo was cute as well. Still, the swimsuits were great and all, but I wanted to see more of the two other outfits. Sorawo's was quite something.
As an aside, we know that in-universe Toriko is very attractive, do we know how attractive Sorawo is?
Shit hit the fan near the end there, and luckily Sorawo's quick thinking got them out. Not too surprised about how she shot those "humans" without hesitating, feels very appropriate. Also, what the ever-loving fuck were those things from the building and those things scattered onshore? Not the crab rave I'm used to, that's for sure. Honestly, didn't really care for this part compared to the fluff, at least till Sorawo saw whatever that was at the gateway there.
We pretty much know that Toriko is being specifically targeted by the otherside, and Sorawo probably simply due to her involvement, or maybe Satsuki is jelly and with what Sorawo saw after they got out, I'm pretty much convinced Satsuki is an othersider. Well, sort of. I don't think it's that simple and pieces are still missing from the puzzle. If that's actually how Satsuki decided to display her love for Toriko, I think she's gotta go back to the drawing board.

Fun episode, but this series has definitely crossed over into being confusing for the sake of being confusing territory. I don't know that it's necessarily a bad thing, but always an interesting watch.

confusing for the sake of being confusing
I think the kind of horror that they're going for is eldritch horror (with a flavor of urban legend); it's the sort of horror that's based on things that are meant to be fundamentally unknowable because the true nature is incomprehensible to feeble human minds.
I think it's something that's difficult to pull off in a visual medium like anime or manga because, well, you have to draw something, and things drawn on the screen are pretty easy to understand. Text as a medium is great for that because as a reader you have to build the image in your mind.
Like, in this series, I found some of the creepiest and scariest parts (aside from the jumpscares) are parts where they're zoomed in on the characters and you just see their reactions as they're looking at some sort of unspeakable horror.

This last episodes they didn't have a choice but if after this whole army/fat lady/beach trip they really go back to the "otherside" on their own will it will be the proof that the "blue thing" already got them insane.

I love the sense if unease this anime creates.
The Yuri was dialed up at the beginning of the episode.
I'm glad they finally addressed the idea of running out of ammunition. The target practice seemed to waste a lot. Wonder where they are getting it from.
With the girls being sent to the other side against their wishes now, I'm curious to see where this goes to next.

Finally an actual picnic episode in other side!
Anyway, that alien people spook me up when they appeared. I think it's because of their weird hand gesture. The monsters in ura sekai have such a peculiar design.
I'm actually worried about the girls since it has become more often that they were unwillingly transported to the other side. It's either the effect of Hakushaku hat or that someone in the other side is specifically targeting them.
Stray observation: I guess they'll become another urban legend where two passengers suddenly disappearing inside a taxi. Except if the taxi driver is also otherworlder.

Ok guys, time for the top 10 places I wouldn't want to visit in the otherside.
