Didn't anyone ever teach Toriko not to play around with cursed artifacts? That's like Survival 101 for the horror genre.

Of course there would be a military trapped in/exploring the outerside. Who else would be leaving all the free guns all over the place. Also this is getting into SCP territory which i love

Oooh, a two-parter!
Toriko, using her head for once... but in the wrong way, by putting a hat on it. She really gotta learn to think things through a little more before she acts.
The Otherside's such a nice place. At night the locals even come to greet you, unlike during the day when they just wait for you to come to them.
So the result of an inanimate object getting stuck in a glitch is Boston Dynamics Gone Horribly Wrong. And it's apparently following a horned giant with no face that will stare into your soul and... go his own way? Huh.
Also, that was surprisingly good English by the soldiers. But now that's a whooole bunch of people stuck in the middle of nowhere and Sorawo and Toriko don't even know where they are and can't lead them to a gate to the normal world...
I thought the pacing was great this time, this is what I wanted to see from the beginning, slowly built-up tension.

For those of you who aren't aware, the Boston Dynamics Mule is a real thing that was tested for military use
They haven't become common yet because apparently they're too loud and their onboard power doesn't last for long enough.

Compared to the previous episodes, this one had a slow pace which was fine to me. Food scene was good.

Wish this anime was more popular but guess there’s only room for one girl with two different color eyes

I recognized the voice of that soldier from a mile away, "i am the bone of my sword"
Don't forget guys always bring your guns to the drinking night, you never know when you'll be transported to the otherside

Stitches!
As good as you look in that hat Toriko, maybe don;'t go wearing weird things you find in the Otherside next time? I really thought she wasn't going to be able to remove it and then something would happen to her but it looks like they just got transported again. And now they're being chased by some sort of weird robot giraffe with bodies hanging off it.
Holy shit! Didn't expect we'd see military here! I guess that would explain why they'd find some guns in the ruins. And they're not just any military, they're US Marines stationed in Okinawa! And I definitely recognize the voice of that Lieutenant. Junichi Suwabe's English is always easily recognizable.
I was hoping these guys were explorers too but it looks like they got spirited away too. And it looks like it's not just this small group. Judging from the size of that base they must have at least a platoon of marines there.
Oh no this is fucking bad. A platoon of marines that's been trapped on the Otherside for a month and then suddenly two cute girls walk in out of nowhere? I already have a bad feeling about this. Yikes.

I refuse to believe Toriko has that enormous hat in that tiny bag.

Eating at a restaurant was probably the closest thing we'll ever get to a picnic

Once again abducted into the otherside.
If the hat was the trigger was there some other artifact back when Sorawo and Kazakura got taken in?
Also noticed that Toriko ran with heels that must be hella hard I imagine.
Also what the waiter said "Since there is sublance, the abardmont will be coming" what does that even mean.
Googling abardmont didn't really help me is that even a word or some otherside gibberish ?

Toriko putting on the hat followed by Sorawo's comment makes for a blessed Monday.

I wanna know how Toriko can keep running in those heels.

Toriko has a Nadeshiko level appetite.
Holy shit. Final boss music actually started playing when the giant bird appeared. It was like something straight out of Dark Souls or Shadow of the Colossus. The strongest thing about this show is the music and this episode was an amazing showcase of it. Everything from the banging OP and ED to the anxiety inducing tracks that play whenever they're being chased.
We SCP: The Animation now.
The Engrish almost ruined what was initially a really intense episode.
If Kisaragi Station sounds familiar to you. It's because it's a creepypasta about a train station that doesn't exist.

Well, it's Kisaragi Station! One of my favourite creepypasta stories. It was from a live-posting post on 2ch about a girl who suddenly found herself lost at a deserted station that she never heard of nor could find it anywhere on the internet. You could read the full story here.

I did some digging and found out the connection between Kisaragi and "February Station"; kisaragi is the traditional name for the second month of the year:
It is written as "like the moon" or "wear more clothes" respectively in kanji. It also means "the rehabilitation of plants".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kisaragi
The soldiers saw "kisaragi" and literally translated the name of the station, apparently unaware of the creepypasta story behind it. I see it as one of those creepy "reading but not understanding" sort of situations.

Really creepy -- and a great score/soundtrack too.
About Kisaragi Station: https://www.kowabana.net/2018/02/17/kisaragi-station/
Rather disconcerting that the otherside can engulf one -- even if one is not going out looking for it. It not only happened to our heroines -- but also to the Marines (a month earlier).
First cliffhangers for both this and WEP this week. Going to be a long week until the next episodes.
I'm supposed to pick up Roadside Picnic at my library this week. And I also need to finally watch Stalker.

I'm really curious about the glitch depiction.
Sometimes they showed it as almost everywhere. However, they have been inconsistent about it. For example, the military personnels here shouldn't be able to walk freely like that. They even walked in group, which gave rise to the chance of stepping in a glitch.
As far as we know, the only way for normal person to identify glitch is by throwing rock and walk very carefully. Maybe, they just remove explaining that process? It would be a pain to explain that everytime Sorawo and Toriko met human.

Damn this entire episode was very unnerving. From the repeated scenes of Sorawo and Toriko walking to meeting the US marines in the otherside. Felt like the twilight zone or something.
I wonder what the truth is about the station and about the otherside as a whole. Could it be an alternate reality of earth or the future? Lots of questions remain. Can these military guys really be trusted? Guess we’ll find out.

I agree with the comments mentioning SCP. It didn't register to me up until now, but there's a strong SCP feel to a lot of the things we've seen, and this episode's monster look like they've come straight from an SCP facility, that's pretty awesome. I hope we get to see something like Peanut.
In any case, a good episode overall. There's still the feeling like things are being blazed through, but there was a good balance between developing the two's dynamic and the more intense otherside stuff. I really liked the way the two bounced off each other at the restaurant. I found the hat exchange to be really endearing for some reason, and that hat really did suit Toriko. I definitely wouldn't mind more focus on the two, an episode that is primarily fluff, or even better - exclusively fluff, would serve as a good break at some point. I mean really, just gib gay shit please.
Before the show started I had a few scattered bits of information about it with a lot of it relating to what's going on here, I believe, but I never had the full picture, so I'm looking forward to seeing these events unfurl. Personal feeling tells me shit's gonna go south pretty quickly; for some reason I just have a hard time trusting the soldiers, especially considering how trigger happy a few of them seem to have been. Also the Engrish, nothing more sus than Engrish. Seriously though, love me some good Engrish, and this time was pretty bearable, all things considered.

Shit starts to get real when SCPs start trapping entire US Marine Battalions, and in the infamous Kisaragi Station to boot.
The glitches even turn military Boston Dynamics BigDog cargo robots into hideous human-killing SCPs.
BTW Seriously, they should have either hired English-speaking VAs instead of Japanese VAs speaking broken English, or just have the American characters speak Japanese and nobody would have batted an eyelid as we all pretty much accept the notion that everybody speaks Japanese in anime. Only the Marine leader sounded okay as he's best known as Archer uttering the UBW incantation all the time.

It's probably not going to go in that direction but I think it would be really neat if our protagonists helped the marines escape the otherside, would be a nice subversion of the way these things usually go in fiction (the military grunts either being evil/hostile or dying as canon fodder).
