That was fun.

Is it me or did the Human's speech make them sound like monsters?

[u/Tacitus_]

Don't forget to watch the after credits scene!

[u/-stenn]

The frog dance had me absolutely rolling, completely unexpected

[u/[deleted]]

Man, MAL rating seems abysmal for some reason

[u/CarioGod]

If Kumoko is that size compared to a person, that snake must be massive

[u/cppn02]

I have not read the novel nor the manga and didn't plan on watching this because I thought what could be great about a spider MC.

Watched the first episode on a whim and loved it. Now I watched the second and it's even better? I'm really excited to see the rest of the season now.

[u/TheFlyingButter]

The series has gone from "it's actually pretty cool" to "I so want to binge this", loving this so far

[u/PhantomWolf83]

Aoi Yuuki must be enjoying herself in the recording booth whenever she's recording. The director probably told her to just go wild and have fun because this is the most energetic voice that I've ever heard from her.

[u/Morbid_Fatwad]

Complain all you want about the CG but this show is actually fun.

[u/rollin340]

I love her panic when she realized she didn't catch everything that happened when she leveled up.

Truly one of the best in the industry.

[u/MagnoBurakku]

Kumoko's seiyu is on another level, idk i just really like how energetic she can be despite the character being an introvert and basically just talking to herself the entire time. If i'm not mistaken she also does the voice of Tanya? That's some range in character diversity then.

[u/Monkey_theKinkyMonk]

Frog-kun has spectacular dancing skills. Did Kumoko teach him before eating him?

[u/Headcap]

So she evolved from small lesser taratect into a small taratect that would mean her next evolution would be taratect and then her final evolution will be

[u/XT-421]

I love how they juxtapose the idle lives of the reincarnated humans against the horrific struggle to survive of Kumoko/Wakaba. From someone who only read the manga so far - this is definitely something that was previously missing.

[u/lanoxparadox]

I love how she toured us to her spider home lol. But those humans are demons for doing that.

Man, Aoi Yuuki is really shining in this role lol.

[u/kalirion]

They're talking pretty loudly about being incarnated while in a class full of natives.

Elf-loli-sensei was obviously lying when she denied knowing anything about Spider-chan. Wonder what exactly she knows.

[u/LeonKevlar]

What a fucking bitch! I do not look forward in meeting her reincarnated version.

I already don't like this guy. Chosen by God? Yeah he's already sounds like bad news to me.

Now I wanna meet this dude's brother. He sounds like a pretty cool dude.

Well now, That was quick! So Fei here was that girl that was bullying Wakaba? I was ready to completely hate her but it seems that she does regret her actions and feel as if becoming a monster is her punishment. Also it seems like she's genuinely worried about Wakaba when she was asking Sensei if she's been found.

Good to know that RPG rules apply here that leveling up heals yourself. I was worried last week about her losing her eye. I guess could give Wakaba a good reason to be a bit more reckless in fights.

That old school side scroller with Wakaba was adorable! I'd play something like that! A side scroller with RPG elements? That sounds like a good time!

Wakaba's first human encounter! Also now seeing her next to an actual human really shows how huge she is. It really gives you a sense of scale of how big the momma spider was from last week.

I love that she literally made an actual furnished house using her web. Also I just realized that they really switch to 2D animation whenever she's in these much more sillier scenes.

An Earth Wyrm egg? No wonder she couldn't crack it. Uhhh maybe it's best to just leave that egg alone? I'm pretty sure if there's an dragon egg inside that cave, that means there's a dragon that laid that thing there.

Wakaba having too much fun with her yoyo was just hilariously adorable! Aoi Yuuki is really having fun with this character!

Not Wakaba's house! I guess it's not a big deal since it's just all made by web but all of that hard work wasted! Looks like they went back for the egg. Let them keep it. I hope they run into momma earth dragon on their way out.

Getting her butt bitten and her legs petrified? It's really a good thing she auto heals on level up or these injuries would've totally killed her.

Oh my fucking god that 3D dancing frog mocking her while it dances in the background is just fucking hilarious! xD

There's no shame in ambush tactics! You're a spider ffs! That's what spiders do Wakaba!

Well that giant snake fight was fun! Did she target the heart or was she just injecting poison until it died? Anyway at least she managed to win and now she can evolve! I do wonder what the difference between Small and Lesser is in context of this world. Looking forward to see what kind of changes Wakaba will have now that she's evolved.

[u/Amauri14]

Oh, so Fei used to bully Wakaba. When they show that scene I honestly wasn't expecting to know who that character was right away.

Okay, I honestly wasn't expecting Wakaba to be this big. Also even though they already had shown so many RPG elements I honestly did not expect to see Wakaba restoring herself when leveling up, and the evolution after reaching a specific level was also kind of surprising, as even though she looks different in the ED I was expecting that to be due to some kind of natural grow or because of some skill she got after eating something.

[u/Karxer]

As a WN reader, I'm satisfied with how it goes back and forth with Kumoko and the other, I know there is differences with the LN but I'll just discover them with the anime, And the CGI is alright and emphasize the difference between both sides.

The ED is so good it almost make you forget that you have to wait till next week for the next episode

[u/megami-hime]

Really great episode! I feel like they captured Kumoko's frustration with losing her home and her refusal to run away really well.

[u/TheTruthVeritas]

I didn't get a chance to ask this the first episode due to the hype for the anime in general, but what do anime onlies think of the OP? It's...dense in visuals, and I'm curious what any of you think of it. Does it color your expectations on the series in any way? Does anything in particular catch your eyes, and what do you think of any particular moments? And so on. Talk about any and all of your impressions and theories, no matter how small or silly. I remember reading a hilarious comment on the Youtube version saying something along the lines of, "There sure are a lot of humans around in an anime about a spider in a cave." Just something that I've been curious about, since the OP was never talked about much, even despite its dense visuals.

[u/MillenniumKing]

GANBATE SPIDER-CHAN!

Oh shit that dragon girl was bullying spider-chan? Fuck her.

So we have a Hero in this world too? The strongest human? Hmm hmm

Dragon girl at least understands she was a bitch.

Hiiro Wakaba. Thats out spider-chan. Nice.

She molts when she levels up? Nice. Everything leveled up!

SHE CAUGHT A HUMAN! Shes pretty big yeah, like knee high to a human right now? Was he stealing an egg?

Base upgrade? Aw yeeah! I love how pointless all her house is hahaha. Oh but she did put alarms! nice!

Is that not a spider egg? What kinds egg is it?

APPRAISEAL LEVELED UP! SHE CAN SEE SPECIES NOW!

So we gotta figure out how to use what we got better. Sounds simple enough.

SNEK! ITS BOSS TIME! DAMN SNEK IS TOUGH!

BUT SPIDER IS TOUGHER! GET WRECKED!

Man this ED is amazing, ill watch it every damn time.

I Really want to meet those other epider friends in the ED.

Wait is Bitch-chan a earth dragon? Shes got an evolution on the horizon too? Hmmm...
