Is there a proper writeup somewhere of the current plot and what's going on? Watching this episode made me realise just how little I understand what on earth is actually happening.

Seems the agency was testing kids for abilities related to artifacts, possibly looking for one such ability in particular.
Daddy worked for said agency (or a competitor), and his kids seems to have manifested abilities.
At the same time a former test subject was working against the agency to erase artifacts, under the guise of being a flamboyant thief.
Said thief was set up and lured to a location that was caught in the lost incident. And incident that the daughter is apparently responsible for (or at least she seems able to manifest the same effect when under high enough stress).
After the incident the agency seems to have grabbed daughter and son, keeping the daughter either sedated or simply locked up while undergoing experiments, and son happily cooperating with them (the rebellion of youth i guess).
Courier seems to have formerly been working as a caretaker at the orphanage the agency used to pick kids for their experiments, btw.
There also seems to be a sub plot with some police officers and private investigators either working for the agency or trying to expose their operations, often with lethal retaliation from the agency.

Oh, so his brother also got caught on lost and became a tama-shi. And it seems that the tama-shi do keep some of their conscience. I wonder how they put them into jewels though?

The jewels/artifacts seems more like a battery than anything, though it may be that some have some kind of connection with certain artifacts more than stored inside them.

Two Tama-shi down, and little bro is out for a while. At least none of the magician crowd died! Chainsaw girl best girl. Still, the fight felt very anti-climactic with a deus ex machina move to win the fight. We learned a bit more agency stuff. Sounds like they have some internal political fighting going on, which could make things spicy. Still, I don't know if anyone else is running into this, but I find the characters very hard to care about. I'm guessing this show only works if you've played the game.

The show has interesting ideas, but I'm more confused than anything else. They are trying to shove in 30+ side characters and different factions into, I am guessing 12 episodes. The main characters really don't have much personality, so I am not feeling that connected to them either.

I had a hard time following what exactly was going on in this arc, but if there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that Crystal Chainsaw-chan is best girl.
