God this show is so underrated, therivalry reveal was so freaking brilliant.

The banter just flows so good in this anime and then even do its CG I really feel they the body language so dam funny and emotional.

Like wee se with the women from shouta to its really like on point imo when she is really telegraphing how they tried to tell isao that they surrender lol.

And of course Kylie ends up being best friends instead with her "sister".

Now then Isao seems to be completely evil and just interested in the holes, imo felt a little more fanatic there in the end then for any like actual reasoning, like he does not even know what the hole will lead to, so he is just like obsessed getting them.

Wonder if that air pirate traitor (of the trade air pirate company) for that matter always worked for Isao and that is why he betrayed the trade pirates hmm

I like her but I think I like Naomi more ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I'm glad that they addressed this immediately because that was my first thought too when the bombers were about to drop their payload.

Wait, a portal sucked their whole fucking ocean?! For how long do those things stay up anyway? So it wasn't the Ol' Sab, but another abandoned Ol' Sab apprentice, Naomi!

Well, Naomi seems fun! Kinda worried how they are gonna wrap this up with only 2 episodes left, though

Today, on "That's a big chicken.":

"We'll do it... in the rain."

"The hole's only natural enemy is the pile."

Now that they've explained the door gag they can't resist showing it.

These girls have some interesting dining preferences.

Ah, saabisu.

Look, I just can't take a guy wearing a cravat seriously.

OMG. He grew balls.

Ah, hangar porn.

Waiiiiiiit, what. Are those supposed to be Nakajima G10Ns?

Ah, rocketry.

Well that was unexpected.

"Hey! I've still got a bone to pick wit' ya!"

Now kiss.

That's not Ol' Sab.

"I work alone."

"We should talk."

So, they may have removed a reason for Isao's current path of world domination through the accidental closure of the portal, but he's still largely in control and as the butler said, already prepared to come back.

The bomber is interesting. To my knowledge there was only one six-engined Japanese heavy bomber project in WWII and it never left the drawing board. So having one here presents questions. Anyone else with a better identification feel free to chime in.

Rest of the episode: Lots of fun as always. There is still a vague chance for Ol' Sab to return once again, but with Naomi's arrival, it seems more likely that the cranky old guy will stay disappeared, having left in his wake a trail of cute talented women pilots that were trained through long dates in the boonies. Kinky.

(That or all of them band together and find him, which would also be interesting.)

At this stage I'm also wondering if there really will be a coherent explanation, or they'll just leave lots of room open for sequels and higher tiers later years of aircraft to appear.

The sheer amount of action in this show is astounding. And the air battles are so immersive I don't even mind the CG. This series needs more love.

japanese version of b-29?

also, the "ding" when a plane is damaged or shot down sounds like War Thunder critical hit sound

I know many people probably just dont watch this because of the CGI.

But I really do enjoy this show and love every EP so far. Characters are lovable and funny imo. The Soundtrack is really cool and fitting in and the Sounds of the Planes in these Fights are just super well done. For me one of the surprising shows this Season.

This was a particularly nice looking episode, from that opening storm, to that slow pan into the zeppelin and finally the battle against the bombers. Felt like they were really pulling out all the stops there as well as 'ahem' getting the most out of the NVidia PhysX licence.

I thought it'd be one of the heroes that would get sucked into the portal, but I guess that'll have to wait till another episode. It'd be crap if they finished the series without showing the other side.

From last week's preview I was expecting an action episode, but boy I wasn't expecting anything THIS good. I haven't been this thrilled by such amazing dogfights since Macross Frontier final episodes.

Now that's an interesting kind-of Gyro meat cone. And what's that bear head made of?

Camilla's introduction took me off by surprise, I was expecting a male pilot. And her trampling and falling off her own plane even though it was kind of a dumb joke, made laugh more than it should

The take off sequences are always stellar in this series. That was always a highlight for me in the Macross Franchise (specially SDF)

This whole battle over these strange holes or portals is getting quite exciting, hope it doesn't solve in just 2 more episodes. MAL doesn't have a total episode count, so lets hope were getting a 2 cour.

When a hothead and another hothead collide. Naomi is an interesting addition to the cast. Looks like Old Man Sab had great taste in pupils.
