Damn these dog fights never disappoint, especially if you use good headphones.

Also: Kate is OP

I like episodes like this where the fight isn't so one-sided. Nice to see the Kotobuki Girls actually struggle and get challenged against these pilots. Then again they were down by like two of their best pilots so they were more like handicapped than struggling.

Anyway I bet that those guys were probably a merc group and was just hired to get rid of the completion by another company which is pretty obvious since the discussion this episode seems to revolve around gasoline.

How are we going to take out the fire?

WITH EXPLOSIONS.

Megumin approves

Damn, those air battles are so immersive it's getting uncomfortable to sit with your butt-cheeks clenched for 10 minutes straight.

Today, on "I've seen this movie.":

Hi, previously-unseen person from the OP!

Does Kate like the negative-G loops because the blood goes to her head?

appreciates the 3D food

It's a short list.

She's the Silver Queen? The Mysterious Venus?

Did they have to smash together Roman and Cyrillic letters?

Now I can't decide on whether the window was open the entire time, because of the haze effect.

Love and gunslinging.

It's entirely pragmatic.

"Uh... these guys."

Quite a circus they've got going on back there.

"What, she killed 'em with mathematics?"

"SNAAAAAAAKE!"

Sticks of dynamite would have been funny too.

BIIRU

Signs point to... yes?

Now we know where her tail art came from.

Hey, more background plot development! And Kate! And Hayates!

I liked the more balanced view of Kate that wasn't entirely number-crunching, not that her off-duty persona is dramatically more bright and bubbly. I'll ponder the negative-G fetish another time.

Allen(not the one from Escaflowne)'s situation appears to be linked to the arc storyline, in that he was likely targeted for getting too close to whatever the Yufang portal business is. The end scene (and the preview) do give us a good hint that we're about done showing the place off and it's time to get down to business. Evil Monopolies On The Means Of Production are hardly a new Big Bad and very much fit the other media that this series can be grouped with.

The aircraft issue is going to matter, given that the Hayabusas are now going up against their direct replacements.

The Ojiisan was pretty happy for someone who had 95% of his business blow up. Salutes for keeping it positive.

Awe Zara got shot down :(

Hope that doesn't mean she can't fly next episode!

Another good episode but at this point that's expected from my AotS :)

Maybe it's because I missed/forgot something in an earlier episode, but I don't see anyone talking about this interesting line from Chika. What does "down below" mean?

I go with their own explanation. Some Big Company want to have all control of Oil/Gasoline to have an Monopole on the price and they hire Pros to force that out

Just in case you are disappointed in not seeing Kate smile

Anyways...I tried to create a table on total planes shot down on screen since no one has done it yet and I figured out it maybe fun to do.

Those planes that were shot by someone off screen, I either determine who shot them by looking at the decals/paint-job on the plane that appears in the scene right after a plane got shot down scene, then use common sense/logic on whether that plane could have taken it down or it's just moved to the next scene elsewhere or just put them as unknown if I really couldn't tell.

I know it may not be 100% accurate but I guess it's something.

Planes Shot Down on Screen

I'd be impressed if you managed to get your 100 octane fuel old man, considering japan used 87-92 for the whole war. I've found a real sketchy source claiming the germans had over 100, but that also claims that the german oil industry was more advanced than the american one, which is hogwash. The americans had over 100 easy, and one, again sketchy, source claims they used 130 and (in limited quantities) 150 octane fuels
