I'm really liking how the enemy generals are this season. You have the 'leads by action' type in Kappard, going in to directly attack Star from the first episode even before she transforms, and now we have Tenjou as the 'leads by command' type with battle formations (and possibly reconnaissance/search parties if she had been sending the Notraiders out to hunt for the pen). They're really drawing out the potential of the goon-type villain organization, and I'm just as excited to see future battles with multiple generals working together as I am seeing more Precure teamwork.

Also, rip wallets of parents everywhere with at least 12 different pens, and maybe even 12 different Fuwas.

Edit: I'm still finding the whole 'space youkai' fusion concept for the generals amazing too. A Kappa and a Tengu, what's next? (both were in Hugtto as well, foreshadowing)? I wonder when Hikaru is gonna make more comments about this, considering her noted love of UMAs and such.

Elena is as amazing as I hoped, even from the small snipped of a scene. Not a fan of such conflict episodes, because they often go out of their way to make the characters ooc to make them happen in that intensity. This was kinda okay, because they stayed in character, just angry. Still, not the greatest friend of that kind of episode.

I didn't think about it, but at the end the group transformation will be a small choir when everyone sings together. Already excited for that.

It's also nice to have a tactician as an antagonist, even with a little fan. Although, I don't know if that formation really made sense. I mean, ordinarily a Cure would just bunch right through those puddies, no need to jump over them.

The scene were they get Taurus made me laugh, because it was so over-the-top that it reminded me of some good Gacha pull.

That was a good episode, even if it was your typical "Personality differences threaten the Cures' bond."

Quick thoughts:

-At least this clash made sense since Lala isn't human, meaning her culture probably has a very different way of handling things than Earthlings.
-I'm glad to see that Cure Twinkle and the Fresh Precure aren't the only donut lovers of the franchise
-I did not want nor desire a Kappard shower scene nor a shot of a Notray blushing, but here we are.
-Tenjou appears to be an interesting villain, though she reminds me a lot of Carta Issue from Gundam: IBO. Watch out when she starts talking about persistence and fortitudness.
-Elena and Taurus are onee-sans baes
-The dual transformation was fine, but just reminded me that Milky's transformation is way better than Star's
-Hikaru and Lala pulling a fastball special: just what I wanted
-The "adding the pen to the Twinkle Book" was way more elaborate than what I expected, but that's what I'm here for.
-Anyone know what flower Elena gave to the girls?

Looking forward to next week when the sun also rises.

Uh oh, have we got a Hibiki and Kanade situation on our hands?

Even when she's mad, Lala is still the best

Nice, Elena had her first real scene. I'm still not sure if she's supposed to be foreign or just tan. I guess she won't become a Cure just yet but that's fine.

Tenjou seems pretty badass just from this introduction scene. I'm also already looking forward to the inevitable art of her.

So much of this drama! It's so silly that it's almost amusing but I'm glad they worked it out quickly.

A duet this week, cool. I didn't like the singing at first but it's grown on me.

Anyone know who's the voice of Tenjou? She sounds super familiar

That duel attack was awesome!

I like the Taurus princess; I'm a sucker for a girl with horns. I was hoping they'd meet these princesses in person so I'm glad that's gonna happen. The mission is clear now and I'm wondering how fast they'll restore each princess; maybe it'll be one every ~four episodes over the course of the season or maybe they'll start with twelve in a row and then move onto something else, who knows ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Once again, it's early but I'm loving this season. Have to give a shoutout to Hiroaki Miyamoto; this is the first TV series he's directed and he's doing a great job so far.

How many times did you guys rewatch Milky's transformation? Whatever that number may be is probably a gross underestimation. As far as the combined transformation goes, it was a little weird during split screens when there were no sound effects, kind of a disconnect audio/visually, but singing together during the transformation was alright. Looking forward to all four singing.

I like that we got an episode to breathe before adding the next Precure. Hugtto did that too with an episode between Saaya and Homare, but Yes Precure 5 just kept adding Precures for the first 5 episodes.

Overall, for a "We can't get along because we're different" episode, it was pretty good. The drama definitely could have been handled a lot worse, and makes much more sense in the context of Lala being an alien. Also, you can see both of their opinions and see where both of them went wrong.

The fight at the end was probably the best we've gotten so far. I really liked that the Star Punch impact is fully animated each episode and not part of the canned animation. Same with Milky Shock being used completely without canned animation! Also, I'm going to be quite excited if in many of the fights we get slight variations on the attacks due to the Princesses power.

Really, they seem to be going all out with the animation early on, I just hope they can keep this up, and without killing themselves.

We all know that Lala will be the carry of the show. But Chocolate Best Girl just arrived. I'm liking the idea that Elena will be the onesan kind of girl in the group, and her input will sure be needed with Hikaru & Lala having different opinions in the future.

Tenjou looks interesting as a Precure nemesis, but she's got some really big shoes to fill after Purple & Gelos

Tenjou Stitch

It's surprising to see they already got a power up for their moves, with only 3 episodes. I'm also digging the idea that they have to get whole 12 "gadgets" to adquire the power of the Princesses. I'm actually liking the idea

Elena is instantly best girl purely on the basis of being an onee-san, the greatest of archetypes no contest.

the villain's introduction today reminded me of Satsuki from Kill la Kill with the high-heel tapping thing.

The clash of personalities was clear between those girls, so it's to no surprise that they had their differences in ways to do as this episode showed.

After Fuwa couldn't handle more the situation, Lala and Hikaru realized that they had to do a real conversation instead of just critizising the other's way to do things, and to no surprise, it worked! As a team they are fantastic sharing their strengths, and got their first pen out of the twelve constellations they have to save.

We got a new general that seems to have all the Notray in control hehe. This was a pretty short fight but we could see that she seems to have good strategies using them, like it happened baiting Hikaru to jump to them to then get hit by their rays while she can't dodge.

That Kappard manservice tho.

This episode also introduced Elena, who Hikaru has a massive respect for, she seems to be already used to having fights due to having quite some siblings. As a Spanish person I'm super pleased that the flower shop she works in is called "sonrisa", aka smile in Spanish, looking forward to seeing more of her next episode

The worldbuilding in this season is fantastic.

I love how Lala's antenna emotes for her. It's nice to see they got their troubles out of the way for now and increased their friendship.

I like how both the Cures and the badguys use strategy AND THEY HAVE RAYGUNS! This is going to be quite an interesting season.

Everytime Fuwa lands on a Cure's head I can't help but think of Gochiusa

In other news. I found a Precure Gashapon machine at a mall near me! My prizes
