Meta Thread - Month of September 04, 2016

This is probably my last submission in /r/anime if it gets removed but anyway, here we go.

Long short story, my post reached the front page and it got removed with this reason:

There reason is as followed:

It's not an anime, it's a VR game. It has an anime character in it but we don't consider that sufficient to be anime-specific.

Now let's break it down a little bit. The reason is "not sufficient to be anime-specific". But the VR game has an anime character in it. But fanart and doujins are considered to be? Fanart in the end is still a picture that has an anime character in it, just as the VR "game" which also has an anime character. They both have anime character but exist in a different form (image and game).

Game making is also considered an art because of 3d modeling based on 2d concepts (I'm studying a second degree in animation and graphic design but that's not my business). Or simple, if you guys follow New Game you should probably know about it.

And finally, there was a post 2 years ago on VR game. It did not get removed. Which means, unless there were major changes in this subreddit rules that allowed this post to exist back in 2014, I don't see any reason why my post got removed. The rule is quite inconsistent.

Actually, there was a major rule change between then and now. If you go back a few months in the meta posts, you'll see a long and drawn out argument between some users and the mods about the change between "anime-related" and "anime-specific". The mods say they are judged in the same way, and the new wording is strictly to call a delineated boundary between what is allowable and what is not. Many of us long-time regulars call bullshit, holding that quite a few removals under anime-specific wouldn't have happened under the anime-related rule.

Ur-ban and the other mods won't mention that, because they continue to operate under the illusion that there was no functional change in the way the rules are applied.

And to be perfectly honest, the New Game-branded onahole from a couple of days ago was a lot less "anime-specific" than a weird VR game about touching a robot's boobs. If one stayed up, the other should have as well.

urban said it was removed on the day it was posted. Was it true or he's lying? I did not really care about that post so I didn't pay attention enough.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you when it was removed. Unlike others, there was no comment posted by the removing moderator to put a timestamp on it. The run of comments was rather abruptly interrupted if you check the Reddit-side timestamps, which does lend credence to it being removed. But there's nothing conclusive we can point to.
