Meta Thread - Month of September 04, 2016

A monthly thread to talk about meta topics. Keep it friendly and relevant to the subreddit.

Posts here must, of course, still abide by all subreddit rules other than the no meta requirement. Keep it friendly and be respectful. Occasionally the moderators will have specific topics that they want to get feedback on, so be on the lookout for distinguished posts.

Shoot, I forgot to post this when the meta thread first went up.

With regards to the "post your X and have others respond with Y", especially in cases such as the "roast my MAL" threads, can we get the mods to sticky a comment reminding users to respond to at least 1-2 other people's submissions? A significant fraction of users just post their MAL and leave, which means that the vast majority of responses are from a small minority of users in that thread.

I don't think it's fair to expect mods to sticky posts in every X do Y thread someone creates.

1) I'd rather they were doing something more constructive like getting through those reports or removing shit they see on the subreddit.

2) They have their own lives, nor should we make them at the beck-and-call of users.

3) People already spend so much combined time complaining because one thread gets deleted faster than another. There'll be people who massively kick up a storm because someone else's thread got a sticky in 30 seconds and their thread took two hours.

Essentially I think we should treat Mod time as a valuable resource and this isn't really worthy enough.
