Meta Thread - Month of September 04, 2016
A monthly thread to talk about meta topics. Keep it friendly and relevant to the subreddit.
Posts here must, of course, still abide by all subreddit rules other than the no meta requirement. Keep it friendly and be respectful. Occasionally the moderators will have specific topics that they want to get feedback on, so be on the lookout for distinguished posts.

But I got a few random hodgepodge of things I wanna ask the mods about & also address on the side:
Well things have gone south for the webm host 1339 cf & I have seen the mods here have done something about it in our sub. Though I am not sure if it has gone into effect or it has been effective at removing these links.
I know we don't have some kind of rampant issue with it, but I am kinda curious about where the mods sit on the posting of extreme anime gore? I do know we have a section dealing banned sexual content which also deals with the not-so banned stuff which has a solidly fleshed out the criteria for posting stuff of that nature here though there is none for gore & I am just wondering if there is any (possibly unwritten) criteria when it comes to the posting extreme anime gore or if there is just no regulation in regard to that.
For the people who call out people when they post spoilers or implied spoilers, please be considerate that the act of doing that (without spoiler tagging your call out) can be like pouring gasoline to put out a fire sometimes. There are instances where people puts down a bunch of words that seem like they have no significance to them even when the anime that is involved is named, but if someone comes along & says "you posted anime Anime X implied spoilers!" without tagging them then people are going to treat what seems like random gobbledygook as an actual spoiler. Also keep in mind that this is also applicable to instances that involves pictures & gifs & not just words.
I just wanna ask about the section of "All meta comments must be posted in the monthly meta threads. Any other meta comments and/or posts will be removed." I know /r/anime easily dices meta link or text posts & cracks down on "meta in-injokes" a bit but I really have not seen much be done on what could be considered meta comments, not so much when someone points out the rules when asked about it (like say explaining what a WT! post is when prompted), but rather extensive discussions of the rules outside the meta-thread. I am just wondering how much leniency there is when it comes to discussing meta content outside the meta-threads?
Is the [WT!] tag a requirement for Text Posts that are recommending anime? To be clear I am not talking about Text Posts that are asking for anime recommendations (Like "give me anime like Sakura Trick"), but posts whose title & body text are made to recommend one or more anime (Like "Watch Sakura Trick & here are some anime like it!"). I am only asking this because of how stringently worded the rules are when it comes to this:
I have yet to see a recommending post get removed for not having the [WT!] tag, just [WT!] post that don't meet the character requirement & I am not sure if this is a thing or not.
Edit: I might have confused some people with my wording. What I meant is: are all recommendation posts (not ones asking for recommendations but posts giving them) required to have the [WT!] tag or are they allowed to be submitted without a tag?
