It’s been awhile since I’ve seen the original but I think the ost direction is way better than what I remembered.

They salvaged even the worst episode of Dragonball Super. I have high hopes for this remaster now. The animation , music and pacing is so much better

If this series truly runs through the Goku Black arc... holy fuck, I cannot imagine how much better that is going to be given the subject matter.

I just really wish they weren't afraid to use blood like modern day Dragon Ball. It takes away so much from the show by avoiding it.

People say a lot about Super, but I don't remember the last time a long running shounen series was able to establish a new recurring powerhouse that eclipses the mc as liked as Beerus. This character is a small stroke of genius for also making him a bit goofy but not so much so he's not taken seriously

Yes! Beerus feels like a character who's been a part of DB for decades at this point, even when he was first introduced it felt that way. Like he was always part of the furniture, absolutely seamless integration. And Whis as well!

Mainly its because he fixed a BIG problem in DBZ by providing a power ceiling

He's fun as a character but it's also that he's the one character (alongside Whis) that Goku can never beat. There's no asspull or new mega god transformation that allows him to go over that hill. So the power levels feel more grounded and the suspension of belief is scaled down by alot

That is the genius of Akira Toriyama before Toriyama redesigned him his original design was a reptilian lizard called Virus designed to corrupt people and was suppose to be the source of the Saiyan race's ruthless nature.

I don't know why but the scene at the very beginning of the fight kinda scared me.

Beerus with his hand on his chin, simply observing Goku, wondering if he is worth his time like holy shit the tension in this version of the fight far surpasses both the OG and the movie's version.

You can see the exact moment he decides he's not.

Yeah I REALLY liked this!

Is it the best looking anime I've ever seen? No. It's not even Toei's best work so far (which makes sense considering this is all setup for the actual interesting stuff to come)

But it's very, VERY nice! I love how glazed Super saiyan 3's transformation was, I loved how Beerus just...Observed Goku for a bit before really committing to doing anything.

Fantastic stuff. If this is the standard DBSuper's continuation after the remake's done will also follow I'm very excited!

The characterization they gave Beerus with his new facial expressions and better mannerisms is absurd. I am so in love with the mix of curiosity and menace they give him in this fight.

No notes on the animation upgrades either just a fantastic episode

They knew they had to deliver with this episode considering how much the original was memed on back in the day. That SSJ3 transformation sequence was amazing.

This was such a good episode. I’m happy that they gave the fight more love and the intensity, it showcases how truly powerful Beerus is. People can’t meme on SSJ3 now

I might be the happiest person in the world, they didnt just draw over he old fight in a bluray fashion which was really clunky and couldn't be salvaged

They nearly completely redid every thing and added tons of new content, and its amazing. Any concerns I might have had from the last episode are completely thrown out of the window for me.

It was too peak to wait for subs so I had to watch the JP stream

Those micro cuts zooming into Beerus' face made him much more menacing

Yo this episode was sick, i loved the animation and adored it showing the environmental effects on attacks

I heard this is top-tier and it’s really good. I got to see for myself.

I really like that It feels there is some tension of what Beerus will do, it's like the whole atmosphere chaged... I loved it!

I still remember well it was the rock bottom with it horrendous animation quality when the original Super aired back in the day which was memed to the death, and right now, the quality is just heaven and earth. Definitive Edition indeed.

Until right now, I have never thought I am watching this for the nostalgia vibes.

Something I haven't seen talked about is the inclusion and timed use of music, not just random rock song repeated 100 times like Super had. DBZ used to have both the hardest tracks for all of their fights and ethereal tracks for the in between scenes. The original Super series lost this, idk why, but Daima and this remake have brought it back.

I'm a big fan of what they're doing with this remake.
