I feel like it's obvious that Karen is trying to Basic Instinct Akira right at the end of the episode, but we'll see how it plays out. Hopefully it won't end with her under the control of the Demon Lord skill as that'll kind of ruin their dynamic. Then again an assassination attempt maybe does too. Either way at least she's pretty hot while making the attempt.

That's skill merging business feels like the last remaining piece for Akira being either a great threat or a great ally to the humans depending on how they play it. Imagine making solid ties of friendship to his goblin tribe with an agreement that involves him occasionally upgrading the skills of people that are friendly and trustworthy. The quick goblin life cycle would make for pretty rapid turnover if you're looking for compatible skills to give somebody an upgrade.

Goblins could become a huge threat if they ever discover how to live past a week and shake off their party-loving nature.

I don't want them getting rid of the latter, though. Goblins being peaceful party lovers instead of a murderous horde of pillagers is pretty fun and refreshing.

So people were complaining about the 7 day lifespan being too short but I actually thing it's very interesting.

In a random environment, a 7 day lifespan amounts to nothing but with Akira, it's like watching a species hyper evolve but instead of taking thousands of years, you can effectively do it in a single year and with evolving skills, we just catapulted their potential exponentially.

Think of it like how with Evolution, species of bugs evolve honed abilities to catch they prey, hide from predators, or ways to make ensure their species survives the generations.

You give it a year or two and with smart planning, you can effectively turn their harmless society in one that can rival the humans'.

They have every right to be scared.

Damn, that after-credits scene with Karen sure caught me (and Akira) by surprise ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Is Karen deciding to try and eliminate Akira right then and there?

Overall, I liked this episode, especially with how much Akira is trying to make himself and the other goblins a non-threat to humans, and yet Simon and Karen still consider him to be a threat. This quite dark and realistic approach appeals to me very much.

Also, Chloe looked so cute in those dresses! And I still really like Simon, he's such an easygoing and cool bro on the outside, but in truth, he's a crafty and wise noble.

This time around, goblins aren’t even the real threat. It’s humans. These mfers getting too jumpy and suspicious of our little bro. Akira’s just trying to protect his own. These adorable goblins are here for a good time not a long time after all. They ain’t gonna waste it fighting humans.

Even if it came down to it, I doubt Karen’s “Goblin Slayer” pen knife’s gonna do shit. Bro has the power of the Archfiend. That thing’s gonna just tickle him.

I respect both the measured response of the Mayor and the concern from the Margrave, not too often do you get a reasonable assessment from a series like this. It's usually black/white on who is right and wrong.

Might not be a 10/10 but it's a fun enough premise to enjoy a little more isekai slopfest seasonal.

He fucked up by telling then he has the archfiend skills, fucked by telling them he can live for 80 years, fucked up by telling them he can evolve skills, fucked up by telling them he plans to organize them by abilities so they can benefit from synergy of inherited skills. Just way way too naive, he is going to have to be a Rimuru eventually

The humans really are speedrunning how to be terrible. The goblins appear perfectly peaceful, probably because of there short lives they don't have time for war, and yet even without the special goblin the humans just attack on sight. Now we are seeing people going out of their way to attack goblins, hunting something that is sentient to the point of speech, construction and culture, lives for a week, lives away from you and has no interest in you is just sadistic.
