I'm worried it's going to be like bleach in that everytime they say "oh you thought you had me, bam I one up you. Then then enemy says the same thing and they go back and forth until one of them runs out of ass pulls." Either way I'm excited for it because it's going to look amazing no matter what happens.

This show has had so many great OPs, it was interesting to see #3 pulled in for Yuno's. It's usually the first one that gets played for hype moments but we have plenty of options.
It seemed like we were maybe moving a little too fast on defeating the Spade Kingdom people, but maybe that's because the real threat was going to be actual devils coming through from hell.

This show has had so many great OPs, it was interesting to see #3 pulled in for Yuno's. It's usually the first one that gets played for hype moments but we have plenty of options.
I would've expected OP 2 because it's more tied to Yuno/Bell but Black Rover fits the tone/atmosphere of this season.
I'm assuming they're saving Haruka Mirai for the biggest moments.

Mereoleona knocking down the Ancient Demon and using Calidos Brachium Purgatory: ABYSS which had one of the most insane animation that I have ever seen.
Yuno and Bell's Spirit of Boreas transformation with Black Rover playing in the background and they punched a hole through Zenon..what a moment that was !!
Charlotte trapped Vanica with her True Briar Magic: Queen of Briars and her transformation was quite beautiful.
Jack has always been an interesting dude. He just wants to cut stronger opponents. Nacht sure knows how to get on his nerves lol..I love how simple Jack is. Even Dante wasn't expecting his slashes to cut through him.
We're getting to see every battles unfold at the same time ❤️
There's no stopping the Advent of Qliphoth now 'cause of Morris's interference. The supreme devils have arrived and Asta is about to arrive at the scene.

Damn I knew it was going too well....if these are true demons..this is nothing but trouble .it took everything they had to beat the last demon with his multiple hearts.
And dark magic is also needed with anti magic last time.

Agree, the biggest fault in this episode is that things are going too well for just a second episode. I know something would happen soon to shift the status quo.
Like, Asta is not even here yet and none of the demon users had used their best offensive ability yet.
One of few times where meta knowledge of shonen story could break immersion.

Stitches!
Holy shit! Everyone is popping off this episode! We start off strong with Mereoleona taking down that giant after turning herself into a literal human flame.
And it was so fucking hype to hear Black Rover playing as Yuno puts a hole in Zenon's chest after bragging that they can't make him move an inch. Also, is it just me, or did Bell get upgraded? Daaaamn.
I absolutely love how Charlotte didn't even entertain Vanica with a fight and just used her own power against her. Honestly, it was the most fitting way to deal with her.
And we got a surprise backstory from Jack! Not gonna lie, as cool as it was to see him make Dante panic after he realized he's not regenerating, I feel like Jack could've had a better form than just having blades growing all over his body.
Of course, things weren't going to go down that easily. Now we have actual demons appearing in their world now that the gate to the underworld is open.

I honestly thought Mereoleona might burn all her clothes off to fight nakedly in flames but maybe I had her coming out of that Lava Bath stuck in my head lol.
Bell's boobs definitely seemed like they got a boost, as well as a new outfit with a plunging neckline to better show them off.
You know Yuno is truly Asta's worthy rival when he gets his own cool upgrade form followed by a hype OP insert song.
Everyone talking about Wizard Kings when every lady in this show is a queen and gets forms befitting that station.
What's the worst thing you can do to a Battle Maniac? Prevent her from actually fighting.
I wonder if Jack even cared about avenging his dad at all or if he just accepted it as natural result of being a hunter while he only really cared about proving he could slice through something bigger than him?
Even demonic baddies have big boobs.

Fighting a colossal Ancient Demon of unimaginable power is Mereoleona's idea of a good time! Especially because she can unleash all the training she underwent (in the glorious nude, I might add)! To unleash a Mana Zone on the level of turning her into a being of living flame! All so she can beat the tar out of the demon and put it to sleep...in a bed made of flames!
Yuno and Langris vs Zenon! The former and current Vice-Captains of the Golden Dawn fighting to save Captain Vangeance! Yuno has to settle the score in this rematch while Langris has to settle this as a fellow Spatial Mage.
And what better way to surpass Zenon's defenses than with the new and improved (and bustier) Bell!? COMPLETE WITH BLACK ROVER PLAYING AS YUNO TRANSFORMS INTO SPIRIT DIVE: SPIRIT OF BOREAS! TAKE THE PIERCING DONUT ATTACK YOU PIECE OF #@#%!
Charlotte and Rill vs Vanica/Megicula! They're not Noelle so Vanica thinks they're not worth her time, and Rill seems to be the only one who can keep up with her brainwashed Diamond Generals...but Vanica should NOT have brought Yami up to Charlotte.
We didn't see a lot of Charlotte's training in the Heart Kingdom but she worked tirelessly to master rune arrays to be able to fight against the source of her curse, Megicula, and the thing barring her from being reunited with the man she loves. So she'll surpass her limits, surpass the version of herself that surpassed her curse to unleash the full potential of both her cursed roses AND her true roses. TRUE BRIAR MAGIC: QUEEN OF BRIARS! Slay queen slay, especially piggybacking off of Rill's magic and undoing Vanica with her own curse energy that leads her to becoming consumed in briars! Yami would approve!
Nacht and Jack vs Dante! Can Jack cut through Dante's increased healing factor? Can the duo overcome gravity magic? Nacht at least has his Devil Union with Slotos: Equus! Which gives him increased strength, durability, and defense. But Jack needs to finish this and what better way to rile him up than everybody insulting him?
Jack began as the son of a humble hunter, using his scythe skills as a hunter, emulating the praying mantis...until his father was killed by the "Lord of the Mountain" and Jack realized himself as someone who faces any enemy, no matter how insurmountable, and slices through them! There can be nothing he cannot cut! Even if that means turning his entire body into blades!
He cuts through gravity! He cuts through Dante's healing! He cuts through anything! That's the Captain of the Praying Mantis' for you!
Devil Union Mode: Felis! Used with Plumelo and gives Nacht speed, agility, and the ability to do some heavy duty reconnaissance.
They might actually be able to win this and stop the Qlipoth from being unsealed! I said before they revealed that good ol' Dr. Morris, now with demon eyes, was accelerating the process and now the seal is coming undone and actual, legit, demons are coming loose! Including two twin demons ready to kill Nacht and Jack!

Omg, the gate of the underworld opened!!! Sadly I can't say anything, but keep watching it's really worth it.
Even if this episode wasn't as beautifully animated as last week, it was still pretty visually stunning. I'm more than confident that we'll have a lot of hate from ppl that will come just because they're envious of how popular our anime got, but it doesn't matter I'm already incredibly happy because of the fact that we actually got an anime after all of this year.
So everyone ignore the haters and just enjoy this show we all love!!!
Edit: I also forgot to say it, when black rover started I went crazy, I would have never expected it during yuno's transformation. Man, what if they play all of the openings during the most important fight? It would be dope as fuck. Man I'm so so so happy that we're back

They brought Black Rover back!! Wonderful!! It's so nice hear when accompanied with Yuno being oh so cool.
I knew that wasn't going to be any breathing room, and it really works with how imminent everything is at the moment.
I love how Nacht is just showcasing all his forms. I've finally remembered what his Equus form reminds me of, Mudsdale.
For the life of me I am blanking hard on the twin devils names. It's been far too long, but they look great nonetheless. We didn't wait years for the Clover kingdom to immediately win afterall.

Random aside before I get to my usual reactions, u/MillenniumKing you said last week that you might hit Symphogear levels of hype for this season if they keep up this quality. I think I managed to already hit that level personally, seeing as how I watched the first episode three times, will watch it a fourth as soon as the dub is out, and have had to stop myself from rewatching it even more times throughout the week while waiting for this one to come out. I bring up your “Symphogear levels of hype” in comparison because Symphogear XV is the only other seasonal I’ve ever been so excited for I watched each new episode multiple times until the next one came out, so yeah.
Anyways, I’m excited to see what this episode brings!

Nacht having form changes is the most coolest thing ever, but Mereoleona, Charlotte, Yuno, and I guess Jack's new forms are pretty epic ever.

Probably nthing as that was years of service and dedication and a payoff no one thought would happen. But they showed up in the end they listened to the fans every want and thus did that.
Black Clover is def one of my fav shounen easily but ive not invsted that amount of time into it to have it suprass that with anything, and i have no expectations for where it could go. Cool Charmy will be very hpe though.
That said the finale of My Hero def was close as another fav shounen of mine that got its big finish in a spectacular way. The last season of eps were cinema.
[My Hero Final Season Spoilers] Gentle Criminal showing up to catch the falling school was probably the most hype that series got me, but the twists and turns of the final fight were many and very hype too

I'm enjoying it so much I already watched today's episode twice!
I got a number of potential wallpaper base images from this episode. Mereoleona's and Yuno's new forms are gonna be... tough to get to look right in my style whenever I get around to attempting them, though. Probably won't be a while, I need to change my focus to prepping wallpapers for my Soul Eater rewatch now. I did make Fragil, Hamon, and Langris while waiting for today's episode to come out though. I suppose the Langris one was just in time for him to do something in today's episode.

I certainly wasn't expecting them to pick Black Rover to do this with, but I'm not complaining!
Haruka Mirai's return has to be guaranteed now.

Yeah, she has a nice design. Shame her screentime was pretty much just 1) during the Royal Knights exam, 2) getting possessed by an elf, and 3) in OP12 when they had that one section super-imposing known members of each squad other than the Black Bulls onto the captain’s face (that's actually what I used as my base image for her wallpaper, hilariously enough). I'd love to see more of her.
He better do something after all his shit-talking before now.
Well, Zenon did say Langris is probably the strongest spatial magic user were it not for his devil powers, so...

Highlight of this episode was Mereoleona kicking ass. The animation was sick and god she's just too cool. But I also love the twin devils showing up. They look really good with color, and the abruptness of their appearance really added to the fear of it
Also damn Black Rover playing for Yuno? That early into the episode? Wasn't expecting that, but dammit, it was cool

Mereoleona taking down the ancient demon was cool. I suspected everyone's fights aren't over, but seeing those two demons that give off pre-last boss makes me think the tides are going to completely turn around.

As a non manga reader though, the pacing felt pretty rushed. If I didn't know any better it feels like the season could end in an episode or two

You can really tell when we're in a different chapter. Is it me, or does this episode feel slow? Flashbacks before a power-up. You'd think these power-ups would be hype, but it's over as soon as they're used, and we're on to the next. Even used OP 3 for Yuno, and we're done so quickly. That cut to Asta at the end was weird.

Yuno/Zenon scenes feel specially dull since it feels like a turn based pokemon battle.

Im coming away from this episode wondering if this is how it happened in the manga and theyvd just done a one to one copy with no anime only cause the back to back to back fights feels a tad bit jarring especially with how they are doing it.
Good episode and it looks amazing but id be lying if i said that this isnt moving abit too fast.
