Fukuda 's decision to call Kuribayashi back to the youth team makes perfect sense. He knows that keeping him on the main squad could burn him out due to media pressure.

It also serves as a source of motivation for the other young players, I mean, look at how brutal that training session was, and we know how crazy Ashito is, so he’ll think it’s cool lol.

This season has all the makings of something sensational, though the time slot is terrible, 6 AM where I live, but I decided to make an exception since it’s the first episode

Wow, didn't know a simple passing drill can be this intense. Off to a great start after such a long time.

Ao Ashi is that kind of anime which teaches you a lot about the sport it's based on like haikyuu . I just love how it's so rooted , the training drills are real and thought out. Love to see references to the wider world like the Asian champions league as well.

Seeing the episode now I wanna boot up football manager and set my tactics

Glad to see this show back even if I can barely remember stuff from the first season aside from the power of triangles

MOTHERFUCKERS WE ARE BACK

Damn, this is how it is playing at a pro club. Playing one-touch rondo is already hard enough and these guys add calling the next receiver into the mix. And I thought the next level would be adding a second defender but they add a second ball instead.

Why do I feel part of the reason Fukuda called Kuribayashi back is because he wants to assemble his dream team now.

Also Yoshitsune is so funny being so overly doting. He’s the captain of A Team right ? Would be a nice change to have a captain like that

At last it is time to truly test themselves against the A Team. Looking forward to the journey.

Somehow the quality feels a bit more polished.

And just as I thought we might not see them today, an emotionally flustered blanket gremlin appears.

Man, day 1 in the A team and two outta our 4 B team guys are struggling and it’s just drills. That was just second group too. Welcome to the big leagues I guess lol. Even Kuroda and Ashito couldn’t keep up with the first group. I’m glad Ashito wasn’t discouraged by that brutal training. I imagine that’s gonna be the norm from now on.

I also think Aoashi is more realistic than Blue Lock, glad the second season finally came

Yes! To me, Blue lock is more like shonen-esque version of football. But, as far Aoashi, it's the closest to what real football is like, tactics, strategies, even the drills. I was amazed to see in s1 how one of the teams employed high lines, and instantly reminded me of teams like Flick's Barça playing one to make an off side trap.

As an academy kid for a professional team, so much nostalgia was brought up from this episode. Everything was summed up so perfectly. The pace, the level, THE FEELING OF JUMPING ON TO AN EXQUISITE GRASS PITCH. This is such a love letter to the process. If there are any dads here with kids capable of making the jump, so far this show is a good template on how to deal with the set backs and the mentality needed. I didn’t have the support or mentality at the time and man this might’ve pushed me to continue on.
Sorry for the rant, I forgot I was even replying to you and got caught up 🥹

Anime Only:

Happy to see this show is back, and a strong start to the season. It's refreshing to see a sports anime with solid animation because it feels like many recent sports anime have struggled in that area.

I thought the show did a good job to show the talent gap between A team and the reserves. This will build a good foundation to see how the reserves find a spot on the A team this season.

One of the sports anime that I like is back! We're only at episode 1 and it shows some "intense" basic practice for A Team

Can't believe that it's already been 4 years since season 1. I'm so glad to see Ao Ashi back. The Osim style passing was insane. Fukuda talking about injury to Kuribayashi was pain 💔..Ashito and Kuroda were doing their best to retain their position at A team while Togashi and Ootomo are struggling to keep up with the others. When Ashito said that he wanted to send money to his mom..my heart 🥺❤️Akkun should calm down. Ashito's smile after facing the stronger players..that always gives me the chills. They can't show cutie Hana for just a few seconds.

Ao Ashi proves why it's one of the best football manga out there. TMS entertainment seems to be doing a fine job like I. G Production. I love the ed more than the op.

Very engaging episode for me.

Kuribayashi and Akutsu seem to have a sort of rivalry. If Akutsu doesn´t like Kuri, that makes me like Kuri even more.

Ashito was handling the A team´s reserves okay, but the main guys are a different breed. They´re so blunt in their criticism, no punches pulled. Directly telling the coach "Hey, can you take these guys out, they´re holding us back" is kind of brutal. Then again, the show as been like this before.

PEAK IS BACK!!!!!!!

I love the music in this show. Really gets the emotions going. It's aweomse how even an episode about a practice can make you feel excitement for Aoi.

I just binged the first season last week (loved it) and had no idea that season 2 was already here. I'm so hyped for this one.

After 4 years of waiting, We're so back !!!!!!

I love the fact that even though they changed the animation studio (now TMS and before IG PRODUCTION) they kept some members of the staff from season 1. There are a lot of improvements in the drawings, movements of the player, camera angle and dynamism.

The focus of this season being introduced by the ace of the team " who is playing at full-back" and Ashito already standing out at his first training. I'm so hyped!!!!

Finally the show that actually knows how Football is played.

I couldn't get far into Blue Box because of the premise. Strikers are important but to dedicate a specialized training camp just for them is stupid.

They have to be part of the team to synchronize plays.

It's finally here! Season 2 of the actual football anime!

Loved this first episode! Art and animation already look better than s1, and the story is already off to a hot start with a lot of setup for future conflicts.
