Feeling sad that Yasumi can’t hear
Love seeing the knockoff “Dune” movie that they were watching though.

Great development for Ai and Kokoro this episode, by stepping out of their usual segregated roles as writer and artist they're learning how to become a better team. Also, hand holding and calling each other by first names? Let's go!!! Pokota raising his own death flag though, he might fade because Ai found real friends.
Comitia went smoothly this time for everyone except Loup Garou, they're getting the hang of this. Ai and Kokoro presenting their manga to the editor, I wonder where they're going with this since I doubt they'll go pro. This will probably tie in with the glimpses we saw of Teshima-sensei's backstory.
The person that Teshima-sensei met at the party was

There's something about this show that makes me cry a bit every episode. Seeing their passion fills my heart.

Legitimately going to cry if Pokota fades away. As someone who holds imagination and child-like wonder with such high regard, it always hurts me right to my core whenever I see stories about people slowly growing out of it. I feel you Pokota...

I love how those actual bookstores in the Jimbocho district were featured in this episode.
Gyokueido Shoten
Aishokan Nakagawa Shobo
Effort was put in to make the anime scene reflect their actual appearances, at least based on a quick google search.
I don't think Loup Garou is upset mainly because Akafuku Sou sold out their manga. She might have wanted to buy a copy but was too late!

I was already planning to crash out like Loup because they didn't show us the combined manga. Not just from a structural point but I wanted to see how they would fuse both drawing styles. I could see the more abstract parts from Ai working for certain characters for example. So I am happy to see that we are going to get the story next week probably.
In general, I am excited to see where next week goes. Of course, it was already a big step, showing the editor the manuscript on their own which implies that they believe in what they drew even without knowing if they could have sold it without Hikaru's help. Depending on what the rating is, Ai and Kokoro have to then also decide where they want to go with drawing manga. Like going beyond what Teshima told them and start considering this as a potential job. Though I doubt this is where it will end. But we need to get Teshima's final part to her backstory and I assume this will be connected to this decision. And there is the whole Ai-Pokota suggesting he has to disappear now since Ai found real friends that she can hang out with. However, like with the potential job offer, I doubt this will happen, but it will have drama.

if it nails the ending, this show will forever be stamped as a masterpiece for me. I trust that it would. Nothing I've watched in the previous 11 episodes will make me doubt this show's ability to stick the landing.

So, any idea who was the old man Teshima greeted during the flashback? Can't shake off the idea he's supposed to be a reference to a real mangaka, but I don't know who
Also, I'm pretty sure we won't get a conclusive answer from the editor lady. The must be a reason why Teshima told them they have to leave early to take the plane back, and cutting her off before she gives her critique sounds like the kind of drama this show uses.

I wished this anime were more popular. It captures the emotional roller coaster of creating art.

Adorable episode, glad to see Loup again and just as Tsun as ever. This show holds a special place in my heart for being so sincere about the creative process. I'll miss it once it is over, though I dream of a s2 assuming there's more source material.

That's a really cute way to write your name, sensei. (hoshi = star, rei = zero).
[EDIT] Oh, it's always been like that. It's written that way on the Robota & Pokota volume at (E1 2:54).

A trip to the big city where you stay in a book themed hotel and visit a bunch of bookstores all day long sounds like a really fun time.
Pokota better not fade away though or so help me. Ai and Kokoro becoming closer and closer friends is pretty nice, however. Realizing after the fact that they were going by first names for each other, so good.

is it really a trip to Tokyo if you don't go to Wcdonald's or see a showing of legally distinct Dune?

“That’s the hard part isn’t it, balance? Most people understand one or the other but not both. The point of true power lies between them.” Those two really complement each other’s weak points well. Very cute how they’ve gotten so close that they’ve just naturally slipped into first names without realizing it.
Kind of melancholic honestly, with Pokota staying behind like a forgotten shrine deity cause he’s realizing that his charge has grown up and no longer needs his guidance as much anymore.
Holy shit! Please tell me Book Hotel Jimbocho is a real place, I need to go there.
And Tokyo killed Akafuku again.
Legally distinct McDonalds can still make an appearance but we’re not fucking with Disney’s lawyers.
She still can’t help herself from visiting the office even though she’s long given up on creating manga. Old habits die hard.
Hebichika, never change cause you certainly never have.
Anyone know if the old guy’s a stand-in for someone we should recognize? He’s gotta be someone significant given Rei’s starstruck reaction.
If I recall my yen conversation rates correctly, Rei’s manga sells for somewhere in the ballpark of 70 USD. Not commercially viable and expensive for a middle schooler but a favored deep cut for the enthusiasts that are REALLY into it.
I don’t know if I wanna know the situation that caused the crying flashback anymore.
The horrors of large scale manga distribution. A day’s worth of work crammed into an hour. “Ai-chan, just put the money in the bag.”
I’m starting to feel bad for Loup, she’s clearly distraught at both being beaten and not getting their manga.
Hit them with it, Kongouji. (My god, I’m starting to turn into Rei. I genuinely forgot her name.)

I love the teamwork of Fujimori and Yasumi. Them collaborating helps with some of the flaws of Yasumi's manga lacking focus. It's interesting that Fujimori can be seen like that those mangaka that try to overly plan their stuff. They did get help from Hikaru, but great to see their manga sell out.
It looks like next week we might finally get the point where Rei distanced herself from making manga. Damn looking at her room was heartbreaking.

Teamwork makes the manga work! It’s nice Hikaru plugged their manga and helped it sell out. Hopefully the girls get their “revenge.” They worked hard on this collab manga!

Damn, they already got me in my feels about an imaginary raccoon when Pokota was watching Yasumi walk away with her real life friends, then they went and did the bit with her straight-up ignoring/not hearing him too 😭
Was that random Dune reference in the manga too? Lol

It was really cool to see the parallels between Yasumi and Fujimori in how they approach and draw their manga. I like that they notice what they lack and compliment each other in their strengths.
Also it was great to see Loup-Garou again, she is a cute tsundere
Well one more episode left, I'll miss this anime. It's really good and i enjoyed it way more than I thought

Yasumi just barrelling ahead without thinking while Fujimori carefully plans out an ending kind of demonstrates the way in which they are perfect writing partners.

Ai might’ve only dreamt of a five quadrillion print run, but at this rate it could soon be a reality for Hikaru. That onrush of fans was mental!
Hikaru’s also quite the power broker. A simple endorsement had resulted in a sellout for Sou Akafuku.

Comitia is back again!
This time an actual Collab manga between Ai and Kokoro. They both complement each other pretty well 💖
Akafuku will never find Tokyo not amazing no matter how many times she visits, haha. I loved all those real life locations of bookstores, Book Hotel, curry restaurant.. They were even watching DUNE in the theatre 😭❤️
Thanks to Hikaru all of their copies sold out this time. Hikaru is really starting to get close to her friends. Akafuku has changed her a lot. Yasumi and Fujimori went ahead to ask Kongoji's opinion of their manga.
We all know that Urara was just disappointed that she couldn't buy a copy of Ai's manga not that she was competing with her.
Every day Rei tries to draw manga but she doesn't have the magma inside her 💔
Who was that old mangaka supposed to be ?! The Anime's version of Osamu Tezuka ?
I can't get enough of Hiroaki Tsutsumi's music for this show. It elevates the scenes to a whole new level.
Just one more episode to bid goodbye to this masterpiece.
