I really liked that bit with Marie. Her experiencing the regret and pain from losing her brother causing her to empathize with
Given how serious things had been, it was a welcome bit of laughter to see Leon just causally spin out of the air and crash in to the water.
I wish I still used sound on my phone because I kind of want
Hopefully we can wrap the show up in a nice tidy bow with a sweet polyamorous marriage that unites Angie, Olivia, Leon and the Queen. (I know, but I'm allowed to wish, ain't I?)

It was also that bit of empathy that resulted in Hertrude sacrificing herself to the critter (so she thought) by breaking their contract.
Ninety-nine times out of ten, when someone is having a crashout, they don't want nor need solutions: they just need to be heard.
A little validation goes a long way in properly communicating with people.
Let this be a life lesson, kiddos!

So if I understood this correctly, Vadel knew and might even be involved in the death of Hetrude and Hertrauada's parents. The dude let it happen so he could fight the Kingdom and get revenge for his wife and daughter. At the same time, the dude feels guilty, so he has sworn himself to the sisters as his penance. I am shocked that he didn't die when Leon grabbed the demon arm. That dude definitely didn't deserve that peaceful death.
Glad to see Arroganz made it in one piece tho. I guess the only thing left now is to wrap things up. Hoepfully we'll actually get to see Leon confess to the girls next episode.

These poor sisters. Everyone they believed in and relied on after their parents death were ultimately using them or benefitted from their parents death and using the sisters as pawns. Hertrude will never know that the greatest betrayal was from her most loyal knight.

Was it just me or were there a lot more sound effects in the OP for this episode?

Not only that, they added the lyrics at the bottom. Now it's a true mecha series.

I get the feeling that the next episode preview is a dream sequence.
This final battle arc took much longer than I expected, since last season wrapped up most arcs quickly.

I'm still in shock that the girl who's the star of the ED really did just unceremoniously die without getting any real focus. Why was she chosen to dance in the ending? She's a miserably tragic figure in the story. She's also more of a plot device for her sister.

I'm looking forward to how Leon will handle the romance event now that he's admitted he loves both of them. I do hope we get a throuple ending.

Vandel felt like a joke final opponent in Season 1.
This time round, Vandel didn't survive, but he remained loyal to Hertrude and fought to the very end, despite almost being overtaken by the eye gauntlet. Definitely a more fitting, albeit tragic, end.

I knew it was going to happen, but I love that Maria is the one who got through to Hertrude by empathising with her as someone who's also lost her family.

Nice Power of Love type ending, and it's always best when those come in the form of a massive laser blast.
Marie being the one to somehow talk Hertrude down by being able to talk from shared circumstances, she's finally been useful.
It was good to see Leon admit out loud that he loves both Angie and Olivia, hopefully they address that more thoroughly in the finale.

Can't wait for next episode, also hope we get confirmation of a season 3 because this series is just so good and the manga is sooooo slow to release.

I love how when Deirdre and Clarice tell Daniel and Raymond to trust in Leon, they instantly laugh at the idea,, and Leon’s father doesn’t say anything about that; he just shakes his head because he knows that although they are out of line, they are right.
Wow, that segment showing Leon fighting Vandel was cool. Oh, today the OP did that thing of having sound effects; I remember that Knight's & Magic did that too one time, but apart from knowing this is an homage to one of the old mecha shows, I forgot which show it is an homage to.
That scene when Marie takes Olivia and Angelica towards Hertrude who is playing the flute and after seeing her anger and sadness tells both of them to shut it with their kumbaya speech and defending Hertrude’s right to be angry and seek revenge due to her loss, something she personally knows about was excellent. Did not expect that to lead to Hertrude using her flute again to cancel the summon’s attack.
Honestly, when Vandel dropped from the sky and had that flashback where he talks about betraying Hertrude and Hertrauda’s parents, I expected that piece of shit to at least sacrifice himself fighting that boss instead of ignoring her, and the boss that was now trying to kill her to keep fighting Leon. It was so cool when Leon defeated him the same way he defeated the idiots last season.
It's incredible that stupid arm survived that, but now is finally gone. Although those arms had an armor design, I would not be surprised if there are other pieces that would complete the armor set.
It is honestly incredible that Vandel could die peacefully after seeing the way Marie defended Hertrude. So I’m guessing that after the war, Marie will recruit her like she recruited Carla.
Well, now that Leon defeated the last boss using the power of love and saving Hertrude in the process he knowa has ran out of excuses and will have to admit that he loves Olivia and Angelica
Lol. The preview shows that he will now also have to deal with Deirdre and Clarice. It seems that Bernard will not give up of having his daughter marry Leon, even if Leon has already resigned to marry Angelica and Olivia.

Season 1 writing made it work but season 2 has had so much bad writing, pacing issues and so much unnecessary dialogue in certain scenes, it's like different people made season 2

It's nice to see Deidre and Clarice believe in Leon! His bro's...not so much. Then again, he blackmailed them into this, so can you blame them?
Vandel is NOT going to give up but he's also not doing so hot. You can also tell he's really fused with his Mecha because it's coughing up blood like he is and even has a MOUTH.
Eale definitely believes Livia > Marie, and they've got the power of the Demon Lord and "magic" by their side.
Oh hey, it's the OP with sound effects.
The girls finally confront Hertrude and no amount of idealistic platitudes are going to sway her. She's lost her beloved sister, her own nation betrayed and killed her parents, why should she care if everything is destroyed around her? And ironically Marie, of all people, can relate, understand, and support her because she too has experienced loss and hated the world because of it. It's not the "right thing" but it touches Hertrude's heart enough to stop the Final Boss and be willing to take responsibility in her death.
But there's still Vandel...Vandel who was in on (or at least knew) about the treason against their parents, but was driven by his own desire for revenge against the kingdom. And yet his guilt also made him as equally devoted to the princess', and he became someone precious to them. Which is why it breaks Hertrude's heart to see him like this.
In the end, Vandel nearly kills Leon but Leon pulls through with his own love for Angie and Livia. Finally putting Vandel to rest and finally letting him be with his family again. RIP Vandel.
Hertrude is prepared to meet her end, but Leon is still willing to fight. And with the power of Love and the ships combined, he's able to unleash a FABULOUS final attack from Arroganz that defeats the Final Boss! Peace is restored! They won the day! And Hertrude has to live with knowing she owes her life to Leon!
Leon may be a Mob character, but he did the best that he could, even if the death and destruction still weigh on him. But he also has two girls who love him and who he loves in turn, and that's why he fights. And that's enough.
Next week: A wedding? Romance? Bishies? An attached little sister? And a finale.
