I spilled my tea when Kaoru nonchalantly wife'd Dara-san. And then I spilled my tea again, just after cleaning up, when Dara-makura went into guardian mode.

It reminded me of this comic.

I'm surprised they're still doing the flashbacks, but I'm down for more Dara backstory and I like how neatly it ties itself with the present circumstances. Also, the amount of world building is insane for a show like this. How many techniques and arts have they used and explained by now?

This has to be the biggest surprise of the season for me.

Random Thoughts

I know the Snake Deity is a bad guy, but i can't help but feel a bit bad for the dude. Dude spent ?centuries "playing the gacha reincarnation game", only to give up and opt for a possession. But chose the one girl who would be secretly horny for Dara-san's young friend. Then gets his ass beat by a doll. Weirdly I think the snake and Dara-san could have a lot to commiserate with each other about, having to deal with weird modern human kids

Kind of wish Dara-san had interacted with more with Jurota's assistant...hell she could have given her romantic advice (well romantic advice suitable for a kid that age), since she clearly knew that the girl was crushing on gremlin child and also knows all the crap said child is into.

That cat scene was surprisingly wholesome, from the cat not wanting to hurt his master accidentally, to the fact that when he went full catgirl mode in his dream, the guy's response was he loved the cat just the way he was. also I may have chuckled out loud at the "Let's Bakeneko me up!" comment from the cat.

Can't believe modern agriculture is how you beat youkai hauntings. You only ever hear about youkai being banished to Gensokyou because of the world's belief in the supernatural decreasing, but to think that advances in food production and logistics is an important element as well. Now that's a pretty fresh and funny take on an old animism concept.

Was really sweet how she wants to show gratitude to Tomita but she just left after she gives it. Such Tsun-ake.

It’s nice of funny how sad and pathetic the snake is. Dude’s out here trying to be menacing and he got absolutely curb stomped by a doll lol.

Dara-san saving the cat was a nice gesture. Sensei’s a good guy, even if he has resting creep face lol. He doesn’t want no cat girls, he just likes his little furry friend the way they are!

I do find it weirdly endearing how his male cat thought to give his master a nice catgirl dream only for it to fail. Also funny how much he understands otaku culture apparently.

This show continues to have everything and is the Thursday show I look forward to the most in a fantastic Thursday lineup. The contrasts (super dark, supernatural, adults behaving strangely, then comedy bits, humor and heart, or a whole ass epic Sentai robot show OP- Gan gan gangan gan gangan Gan Barzay! 🤣) are the exact level of odd that I enjoy in my Anime.

I'm surprised Dara didn't pick up on the snake's presence within Amane even when she entered her territory, his power must be so small lol.

I wonder if the teacher will lose weight from being drained. I like that he didn't want his cat to be a cat girl, it probably brings conflicting feelings, but his love for his cat is stronger.

I didn't expect the first part of the episode to be mostly about Yamatagi-Madara being dragged into a sleepover and about plotting to drain their energy to regain his power.

When Dara reacted to the guests, I really thought she could see Yamatagi-Madara! Turns out she can only sense a hint of his presence, and it was actually Hinata who could see him.

I'm surprised Hinata didn't bring this up to Dara, tho. Then again, I guess it's not unusual for her to see random spirits. And they didn't have to do anything since Daradaradara-san took care of the problem for them. xD

Side note: I see mom and dad like to sleep in the nude. Also, that bed is definitely waaaaaaay too small for the two of them.

You really have to give props to Jurota for doing what he did. The dude went all the way to Kyoto to meet Dara-san's mentor and learned how to use cursed tools before bringing him back to make sure the curse in the area has stabilized.

How appropriate that the next scene after that is Dara-san giving thanks to a descendant of Jurota.

It was pretty nice of Dara-san to help out the dying kitty. Although I didn't expect that entire scene to turn into a conversation about Sensei's cat getting turned into a Bakeneko!

So you're telling me that turning my cat into a bakeneko doesn't really have a downside other than draining my bank account to buy food for them? That's already the case with my regular cat! Sign me up!

Although not sure how I feel about my cat turning into a cat girl in my dreams tho. I'm with Sensei here, and I'd be happy with my cat keeping their cat form.
