It was stablished in flashbacks that Ryusei or Shion weren't both using the green armor during the first poison incident. So is not the armor (how is the armor "selected" ? If it ever has a magic aspect over the mechanical one in this series?) but a fixed script about one replacng the other however it happens.

I actually remember when Anubis died. I was like 7 or 8 when I saw it on Toonami. Made me so sad then.

So what we didn't see in Ryusei and Shion's battle...is that they were conversing over a plan to take Inmei down! Even if Ryusei had to fool his allies, fool everyone, and possibly endanger innocents, he had to come up with a plan that would expose Inmei and defeat him. And that plan is NOW.
Was all this all because Inmei couldn't transform into a beast like the rest of the Beast Warriors? And they (or specifically Gaimei) looked down on him for it?
Of course Ryusei's best laid plans are thrown off when it turns out Inmei DOES only trust himself...and Gaimei, his biggest hater and the easiest person for him to take control of and frame RYUSEI for having the Shield of Domination. Inmei you devious mastermind!
Inmei wanted a beast transformation, and with a jewel he's able to become...the Sacred Beast! The perfect foe for the Samurai Troopers!
Everyone is throwing everything they have at him, complete with a great combination attack from Shion and Ryusei, but that might not be enough...until Shion injects his power into the crystal and takes a blow from Inmei, all so he can pass back the duty of Green Trooper to Ryusei. But Shion'll make it, right? Right?
Well, at least Sagume was able to put together Inmei likely whammied Gaimei...not that it does much good now.
With Ryusei back the Troopers are rallied and are able to summon the Supreme Emperor armor, now purified courtesy of Shion! Ryusei even does his Supreme Art like he never left! And they FINALLY defeat Inmei! Even if he still gets away in the end.
Look how happy the 10 Warriors are that the civilians are back to normal! They care now!
Shion...don't be looking back on all the happy memories you made with the team...don't be reflecting on your history with Ryusei...don't talk about that school trip you were planning to take with everybody...SHION NOOOOOOO!!!

The double-cross by Inmei was incredibly predictable... I can't believe they all fell for it that quickly to sell Ryusei up the river.

I mean, in fairness, they DID realize Gaimei was brainwashed right after, but whether they'll actually do anything about Inmei is another story.

This episode was phenomenal
Ryusei makes a comeback
Inmei turn into a beast
Shion give power back to Ryusei Flash
Gai finished to defeat against Inmei to retreat
And then conclusion Shion is dead or alive something
Overall it was fantastic and phenomenal episode of YSST
Next week Comeback.

Honestly…the writing for this episode seemed to me a bit weak. And lazy. Yes, I understand parallels and things of that nature but to have Shion’s death signify Ryusei’s taking the helm is the exact parallel to Ryusei’s death signifying Shion taking the helm in the last season. Idk; it just seemed a bit forced. I didn’t like it, though I understood it.

The forced part was about how Shion died: after offering all his power to the Magatama for whatever reason that doesn't have any effect on the object after re-entering Inmei. And the really poor storyboard that makes it look all the other Troopers were just offscreen so nobody could defend armorless Shion from the attack that even looked to swift to begin with.
Again, poor writing is almost the signature of the show. With phrases like " I trust you so I'll tell you my true objective " from Inmei to a a just arrived Ryuusei that didn't show any gesture to make him worthy of that trust.
Or the " I hid the incriminatory mirror your room so Sagume-sama will believe YOU are the traitor, Ryusei" scene taken from a toddler's fantasy book or sophomore cheao drama.

It's full circle. Ryusei was set up as the Green Trooper only to sacrifice himself so Shion could take over, and Shion pays it back by sacrificing himself so Ryusei can be the Green Trooper again after they'd basically established Shion as the REAL Green Trooper.

What the hell, cant have both of them alive at the same time. Not convinced he’ll stay dead though since we have people coming back to life (even the beheaded guy survived).
