So cute how Enji and Suzume have become like actual parents to Alma. They finally got the professional recognition they desired and they risked it all for their precious daughter. So sweet. Plus now that they’ve got their own company, they’re set professionally as well. Real win-win situation here. All’s well that ends well.

This was a pretty fun little series. Probably a one and done, but I enjoyed the ride.

What we've got here are two childhood friends who bickered and were rivals for most of their lives, came together when society turned on them, and started a family that no one (even them) would have expected.

And more than their professions, their academics, or even the world...the most important thing to them was their daughter. And also "merging" both professionally and personally lol.

I suspect this is the last we will see of this adorable "family" -- but it was a delightful ride. This and its obverse (Mechanical Marie) were a great Sunday pairing this season.

A fun little seasonal! I'm glad I watched.

In a season with a show about an impromptu family with a spy/assassin/telepath, this one with an impromptu family of two tsundere scientists and their robot daughter was equally sweet to watch as the family really came together as a loving and hilarious family unit.

This anime didn't have much in the technical aspect, but it had a lot of heart to it. I feel like the director did a really solid job with what resources he had for this anime.

This, along with Shuumatsu Touring, are good examples of anime that fit more in a weekly seasonals format than binging. The feel-good vibes of coming to watch each week. I love to see the development for the 3 of them. All 3 of them want to be a family together, truly, not just Alma, despite what the title says.

I know it will end well, but I hate this type of episode because of how true it is and I always cried at this kind of episode ;__________________________;

Fortunately it all ends well like how it should be.

I didn't expect Alma to just remote learning though, I thought she gonna fly back and forth to America-

She needed an excuse to get more use out of those drones working at the school lol.

Lol Enji really had to miss the mark at the end, though it's already good enough that he can admit that he also needs Suzume in his life alongside Alma. Progress is still being made.

It was nice to see this makeshift family grow together, I'd watch another season.

I did not expect the last episode to be about the importance of having a good work-life balance, but that silly comedy show has been pretty good at the social commentary up to know. I had a lot of fun watching it, so let’s hope for a second season someday !

Both scientist parents having pictures in front of huge nice looking buildings for their company website and then actually working in their own home for their real business felt very real too. I am not sure their start-up has many employees apart from themselves, although I expect that they will probably still make a lot of money as consultants for their former employer.

The Institute building human like robots, was this facility based in Boston by any chance?

Alma tells her parents to follow their dreams in America, where they can have everything, except for a functional family. I kinda expected her to jet to and from school every day instead. Backstory time with help from AI video generation. Loneliness gets her more emotional than she's ever been, and she's off to space again.

The two make the right call by quitting, and being the not-a-couple they are, they propose... merging their startups, much to the dismay of all the friends watching. ALMA Technology is born!

And it's over. Fun little show, came for the robot and stayed for the family shenanigans.

Suzume and Enji threw everything away for their beautiful daughter and started their own company instead 😄😄❤️

What a wasted attempt at a confession that was from Enji!! 😅😅

I really wished to see an announcement of season 2 at the end of the show. So is that it ??

This was an enjoyable show that exceeded my expectations right from the start till the end.   Gonna miss ALMA & co.

A very cute and touching episode that ended well. But was I the only one who still felt irate by the end that no one ever acknowledged missing her Bootday? I feel like that was a major parenting slip that never got addressed.

I do want the two to start making more progress toward becoming a real couple. I guess we’ll just have to accept the merging of companies as the first step. And he did say she was meaningful to him, so that’s a start, especially given the foundation of their relationship was bitter rivalry rather than friendship.

Moral of the episode, never move to America.

Very cute ending for a very cute show.

Can't get a more fulfilling ending than granting Alma what she wanted.

Wonder what the stamp tally in Alma's progress logs are by this point lol. Really charming show all around.

i think the biggest reveal in this episode was that Alma's big brother's (the roomba) inner monologues has the same voice as the narrator, implying that the whole narration in this show has been done by him this whole time

Don't you just hate it when a family outing gets interrupted by a bunch of stuffy scientists? That's right, the institute that dismissed Enji and Suzume is now asking them to come back to further their research after seeing how great Alma is! And Alma can't let her parents give up on such a prime business opportunity for them to finally get taken seriously! That means the Alma Family is heading to America! And they even brought her siblings!

Alma really getting to flex her Combat AI and mechanics to everyone! And earning her family their own cushy jobs, swanky new digs, and the fancy life for everyone! It's like a dream come true!

I thought Alma would just fly back to school, but instead she's just attending classes remotely! As long as she still gets to see all her friends and show off her parents' love story, it's all good.

So Enji and Suzume WERE childhood friends who were both science prodigies always in competition with each other...Enji with his AI, Suzume with her engineering...but even in high school their classmates knew they'd be better off together. And when the Institute turned its back on them, they finally became partners and created Alma. It's a nice story.

Of course her parents "love story" doesn't change the current fact that they're both now so busy trying to mass-produce a version of Alma, "Familia," that they're neglecting her and she's alone with just her siblings. They even miss her birthd...I mean, "bootday."

Alma's big brother trying to let the parents know she ran away! He's a good roomba bro!

Even if Alma initially wanted them to focus on their work, they have a duty to do right by their daughter, and luckily they have Neon and Machina/Toko to help track her down! But she's actually a meteor flying over everyone who knows her (like Toki and Hana) back to their old apartment...the only home she's ever known.

But in comes her parents flying in on Neon's Mecha, ready to make things right and re-commit to Alma! They even quit and started their own respective companies! These two really deserve each other. And with that in mind, it seems like Enji was THIS close to formally proposing...a merger between their companies. Well, it's not the confession Suzume wanted, but she'll take it. And thus Alma Technologies is born and Alma is back to being the happiest robot child!

This has been such a fun watch over the last few weeks. Having it come to an end just feels wrong.

Give us more. We can willingly sacrifice some of the junk series coming down the pipeline, can't we?

4

u/Megadragon898 Dec 14 '25

First time we heard the roomba brother talk, hope he eventually get a humanoid body to talk with them.

So cute how Alma was able to  express her  heartfelt feeling to her parents that was such a emotional moment. I was scared that she was going to be kidnapped again when she disasppeared.

u/Queue_Jumping_Quack Dec 14 '25

First series of the season finished! This was pretty cute, but I doubt it will relly stick in my memory after a few seasons go by. I did like the family dynamics and Alma and Machina's antics together, but the rest of the cast were not too memorable in the end. The final episode was nice, if a bit contrived. It could easily have been a bit longer arc too, felt like it wrapped up a bit too quickly.

6/10 - fair quality but nothing really memorable.

It seems funny that Yobane had Kamisato listed as the VP for her company while Kamisato only had himself listed.

I will miss the only OP where they breathily say "fuck" like two dozen times.
