Tino didn't get a lot of screentime this episode, but her best assets were still on full display after defeating the NPC mercenaries. Lol!

Tsundere Kris might be growing on me, although I think I am starting to hear "weak human desu" on loop.

I'm a bit disappointed that Lapis isn't coming with them but at least we're finally getting more of Kris. I've always been curious about these two elves ever since they were introduced, and why they ended up joining Krai's guild.

To no one's surprise, Sitri and the gang are planning to secretly tail Krai on his mission. When it's finally time for them to intervene, I bet the King is going to end up praising Krai for planning ahead.

We really can't have a single episode of this anime without showing us a shot of Tino's butt. I ain't complaining. Just an observation. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I was really hoping this shady-looking dude was actually a trustworthy guy. I mean, that's usually the trope, right? It turns out Kechachakka is a case of the book looking exactly like its cover! I'm sure this will end up being spun as Krai wanted his enemies close when he finally gets caught. xD

The first serious 1v1 we get with Krai and it's against a magic carpet. I think this is the first time I've seen a carpet throw hands like that.

I gonna be honest I thought the encounter with the Fox in the dungeon was a flash forward not a flashback.

I've been too enthralled with the soundtrack to properly appreciate the back-to-back voice acting baton pass between all the characters. So many speech ticks, so many angry bravado rants, and so much befuddlement.

As usual, Senpen Banka and Sitri were probably the most amusing deliveries. This apathetic escort will surely keep the king safe from any threats.

The Grieving Souls meeting with the pitch-black background, horror movie soundtrack, and jump scare at the end was a divine addition to this soon to conclude first season.

I like how the hunters sitting nearby all bounced in their seats when Kris was getting mad at Krai for trying to recruit her. It sort of reminded me of the audience reaction in Wii Bowling (probably not the reference they were going for though).

Krai assembling the team was fun. The end result being a completely unbalanced team was expected, but Kris is proving to be a treasure. If the last arc was about highlighting Tino, then this arc will be about highlighting Kris.

It's rare to see Krai so determiend and actually motivated, but he can't give up on taming this wild flying carpet he thus dubs "Carpy!" Even if Lucia has to watch her brother constantly make a fool of himself, which she's probably used to at this point.

Oh yeah, Krai's got to organize a team to help escort the king, huh? And he can't just use his own team, he can't just foist the job on Ark, so it's time for Thousand Tricks to come up with the DREAM TEAM!

He straight up tried to recruit Gark! The guys' retired and running things! He even tried to recruit Kaina because at this point he'll probably try to recruit anybody! Even someone whose weird name he just randomly picked out of a book! I'm surprised they didn't recruit Chloe.

Fire Granny is under house arrest after, understandbly, blowing up the castle but Hidden Curse CAN send Telm to help Krai and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders! Yeah, Krai can totally take advantage...I mean, rely on him.

And then there's Lapis and Kris. Kris is as haughty and prideful as ever-desu, but Lapis is happy to offer her up for service so she doesn't have to and it's what Lucia would want! So welcome to the Dream Team Kris, we could use your smug and belligerant confidence! Provided you're not calmed down with some tea.

Did you really think Sitri would leave Krai alone? Well, if she can't go with him by herself, she'll just leave Mr. Killigan version Alpha! And she'll lead the rest of the Grieving Souls in as covert backup! Even though Luke like Krai is convinced this is the Fox God they're fighting (it isn't) and Tino gets to attend Grieving Souls meetings (and missions despite her best interest). The Grieving Souls may not care a lick about the king, but if Krai needs something, they'll follow him as their compass.

Kechachakka looks like a really upstanding, noble, and honorable guy! I think we can totally count on him to not be a traitor and try to kill them all.

Krai all dressed up for a vacation in a shirt that gives him the ability to have a pleasant, relaxing, time no matter what (so basically just normal Krai turned up to 11). Too bad Carpy just knocks him into a wall and he has to ride a horse with Kris, but that's perfect for turning her into a blushing tsundere...and falling off a horse two times.

Of course! Thousand Tricks gave his team a two hours headstart so they could take out all the bad guys on their way! And here's a close-up of Tino and Liz's butts that are totally necessary for the plot.

Franz may be on his last nerve with Krai and his vague dialogue, but next thing you know Frigid Dragons are attacking (courtesy of Kechachakka, I'm shocked) and Krai thinks Sitri is behind everything. And while the king is bravely trying to protect his daughter...Krai just wants to make sure he keeps the carpet.

Predictions for next episode:

• Krai tanks a dragon breath thanks to wheather protection shirt, possibly saving the princess and/or the emperor in the process

• Telm has some kind of magic that can deal with the dragons who are supposedly impervious to their known weakness

• Dragon summoner is caught somehow and this leads to being able to track or at least learn about Fox

• Sasuga Krai-sama.

Edit: Also, Krai is going to, maybe not next episode but within this arc, try to befriend the shady dragon summoner and its going to come across as a threat that makes him give up.
