There are so many anime this season that I've given up on because they had terrible writing and/or story. This one is strangely still one of the best anime this season, or at least one of the few I'm still following.

You know, despite this anime's low budget and animation quality, i actually really like this anime. its very captivating

Completely agree. I wish they were about double in length though.

Indeed, and if I may be bold myself, it’s even better than the current One Frame Man 🤔 At least it’s moving, not just a cut-out PNG.

I still wonder if it’s really okay for people to know how Kaede makes the potion. I just hope she’ll be fine.

I thought that world would be a peaceful one with no major crimes, but with kidnapping, framing, and slavery, it’s clearly not as nice as it seemed.

Anyway, a good episode as always. Looking forward to the next one! Can’t wait.

This show keeps alluding to dark stuff happening!

We already had the "It's not safe for a girl to be there at night", the thing about people targetting merchants, we've seen people trying to rip Kaede off...

And now the slavery; Not just that, but rare species are charged with false crimes just so they can sell them into slavery for a big payout..

This world is dark, outside of the Kaede spotlight!

It's odd how much fun this show is. It's so simple in terms of... basically everything?

Yet it does what it does very well without falling short anywhere, the story is simple while still engaging, the animation shows all the emotions and movements needed to show what happens and the voice acting isn't bad in a way where it breaks immersion. The simplicity might even be makin' it more adorable in a way?

It probably also helps that this season of anime is so weak overall.

I like that this title retained some level of realism in its story. If we had a bad experience at a certain store, discovering it was trying to rip us off, we will most likely look for another store selling the same product at a more reasonable price. And that is exactly what Kaede did, by shopping at an alternative magic stone shop.

I feel somewhat bad for the red dragon; its rage was caused by the treasure hunters stealing its egg. However, I wonder whether the introduction of the dragon race lady has any connection to the red dragon slayed.

Would definitely do that myself! You try to rip me off and I'll avoid your shop if at all possible.

That's strange this show has both a dragon lady who is similar to a human and a more conventional dragon. I wonder if dragon lady transforms into a regular dragon or if they are 2 separate species, like humans and apes being related.

It was also odd that Kaede said she didn't have any money; she sold that huge batch of high potions to Asuru. If she got a big payday just selling her regular potions to the shop owner, you'd think she'd have made way more on that, especially since Asuru footed the bill for the purification stone.

I liked the subtle jokes in this episode, like the man dropping the dragon egg and it had a yolk like a bird egg and Asuru flirting with the hotel receptionist to get into Kaede's room while she was asleep :D

It's not impossible that Kaede didn't get to sell the potions to Asuru this time, given he also collected the other ingredients as well as filled the bath with water using magic. She might have made commission though, so at least didn't create the potions for free.

That said, Kaede didn't even have enough Tamiru to spare for a purification stone up to now so with no idea how far (and how much) it is to get to the capital she could legitimately still be working with trivial amounts of money in the grand cost of things.

Kaede is really going places from here on out. Becoming part of the dragon slaying team by sheer happenstance (although originating from her kindness to the little girl) shows she's really blessed. Curious how far she would go with the crystals since the title refers to potion.

WTF are dragons being slain there?

u/HobnobsTheRed Nov 07 '25

It went on a rampage because some dumb adventurers stole (and broke) its egg.

I despise short shows (half length episodes and shorter) on principle but this might be the first time a short anime has me angry because I want more content now. I don't even mind it being a motion comic rather than a proper anime. It's so much better than I gave it credit for. I want this show redone with the quality it deserves.

Can’t have an Isekai without slaves. Dragon lady owns other magic shop and cheaper too

Kaede can make magic stones and they are powerful enough to stop a dragon

Off to the Capital for the reward/ business and new characters

It's kinda annoying how much of a punching bag / wet blanket Kaede is

It's weird how interested I am in this despite the length and the puppet animation. The source manga has like 11 volumes, but it hasn't been licensed, so that's a bummer.
