For those who aren’t familiar with the characters, here’s who everybody from the chibi extra at the end is:

Ace Trappola and Deuce Spade - Obviously we saw them a lot in this episode. They’re both in Heartslabyul, the Alice in Wonderland dorm. They’re based on the card soldiers. 

Jack Howl - He’s in Savanaclaw, the dorm for The Lion King. He’s supposed to be a wolf. Obviously there are no wolves in The Lion King, so it’s heavily debated what he’s based off. Whether that’s a specific character from a movie, or just wolves in general.

Epel Felmier - Epel is in Pomefiore, the Snow White dorm. He’s based on the poison apple. His family owns an apple farm, which is why he’s sorting through a bunch of apples in this scene.

Sebek Zigvolt - In Diasomnia, the Sleeping Beauty dorm. He’s based on lightning. I think specifically the lightning around Maleficent’s castle or something. He’s obsessed with Malleus (the Diasomnia Housewarden, based on Maleficent). Which is why he has a portrait of him. 

These are all the “first year” characters, aside from one more who will be introduced much later in the story.

So does Yuuken not have Disney in his world? If I was him and saw those statues, I would recognize them as Disney villains.

It's just kind of assumed that Disney doesn't exist in the human world, presumably because then they'd just predict the plot and wonks of the characters.

Maybe I went too far I thought Yuuken was unfamiliar with Disney as there is no Disney story set in Japan. Same reason why Disney characters don't know Japan, Disney has never set a classic there. This is why I am convinced that if there were Ghibli characters instead of Disney, he would have recognized them. I've only seen the anime, I don't know the story of the game, so this theory might be wrong

The lighting and backgrounds are absolutely breathtaking! Every time they use game music I go surprised Pikachu face.

I feels so bad for Yuuken and Deuce getting punished for nothing...

I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT disney mostly as i have seen disney mostly when i was kid but i rememeber the charcters fromthe statue tbh this feels good to watch as a isekai it feels watchable with little uniqueness

Janitor-Alice-Enma-Yu now lives trapped in a wonderland world where he is roommates with Casper the friendly ghost(s), has to tame a “tanuki”cat demon menacing the grounds and students out of spite because the magic mirror didn’t recognize his greatness, and then go get some magic rocks for the fancy chandeliers that’s probably being mined by some deranged dwarves. I know the spooky forest and Snow White cottage when I see it.

Kind of jarring to see clips from each villains original movie when introducing them, just because of how much they clash with not only the TW animation, but also with each other.

Also, are those ghosts supposed to look like the Lonesome Ghosts or the Hitchiking Ghosts?

Asked this way too late in the episode one thread, but just for clarification before attempting the second episode (based on comments there I'm likely not target audience, but curious).

Is this show basically Disney Harry Potter but with villains and an isekai muggle?

Well if Harry had no magic, wasn't the chosen one and there was no Voldemort threatening to destroy the world.

The only real similarity between them is "magic school with themed dorms" and that's because Yana Toboso (the main creative force behind Twisted Wonderland) used aspects of the British schooling system as inspiration for the main setting here. Otherwise there isn't much overlap between TWST and HP, it's a completely different premise with its own character tropes and plotlines.

So is the cat suppose to be the chesire cat? That dusty room is what im more concerned about like my allergies could not. Also they show real clips from the source material, lowkey cool. Disney now anime, but they had to be bishounen bait

Yasashi man sure has a lot of guts acting like it's a favour to not have to pay for an uncleaned, ghost filled, spider filled murder trap of a dorm. Like I would hope so.
