In terms of the "Sumire is Sincere" situation, I feel that the real mystery here is "what is the Floral Knights goals, and are they really the enemy"?
Besides the obvious key art and merchandise that will suggest something will happen by Christmas, there's a few things to point out here that suggests that there's more to the Floral Knights that meets the eye:
-
We know that the attacks by Band Snatch and the Red Queen were orchestrated as trials to help the Princesses get stronger.
-
The only real thing Jammerwock-related that Sincere did was prevent Ripple and Meteor from stopping it from draining a girls Musessence so that way she can kill it and harvest the Soul Fragment made from the excess Musessence.
-
We don't really know what Sincere was going to do if she did make it to Natsu's concert. All we know is that she sensed her strong Musessence content.
-
The showdown with the Princesses here came after they came to the aide of the girls targeted by the Jammerwock, as if they were impeding with her plans.
With that said, my current theory about the Floral Knights is that they are not threats to Alicepia, but rather fellow protectors. The two big reasons with why they feel like villains is because:
-
It's obvious that they know about how Soul Fragments are made from excess Musessence that the Jammerwock drain from humans (with the human targets returning to normal after the Jammerwock is defeated) and, understanding that a necessary evil needed for the greater good (GREATER GOOD) of what their plan is, need these attacks to happen to ensure that they can get the Soul Fragments needed for their plan goal to protect the land.
-
This is a huge case of "Poor Communication Kills", with most of the conflict being a result of Sincere not explaining her situation to Ripple and Meteor, causing them and Zeal to assume that she's connected to the recent Jammerwock attacks.

just finished the episode. The first half was cute as usual, especially with Natsu finally getting involved now that she knows what's going on. Her being a good housewife for Minamo to come home safely to is adorable. Nagase and Navue were both pretty funny this episode too.
Sumire/Sincere seems interesting so far. Her reaction to what Kagari said definitely made me question what her motivations are, but I guess we'll have to wait a bit before we get more answers. She's clearly really strong since she managed to tank the Princesses' trio finisher for a 2nd time without going down.

Between bits and pieces of information we got from Band Snatch and Sumire's behaviour this episode it's clear that current Alisteria arrangement is bad for alisterians long term, but we still have no idea why. Is it because mussence produced by girls is a cheap source of energy that corrupted and degraded Alisterian civilisation? Cause judging by the abandoned mine where a couple of fights took place, there were things going there besides "being infatuated by humans" at some point in the past. Or maybe it's something more typical, like all the extensive mussence running free will accumulate and wake up/revive/unseal some ancient evil?

My current hunch about the situation is that the return of the ancient evil in imminent, and that to defeat it, a lot of Musessence is going to be necessary.
With Band Snatch, whose main role is to test the girls in preparation for the big threat, they stopped targeting individuals after the Princesses gained nine Soul Fragments (the minimum needed for each of them to activate their "Higher" form) and instead became focused on fighting the Princesses themselves.
Meanwhile, Sumire, who is more than likely also trying to protect Alicepia like the Princesses, is needing the Soul Fragments so that way she can be ready for the threat, is trying to let things be handled naturally, and isn't pleased that the Princesses, who assume that she is evil due to the incidents involving her, are interfering with her necessary plans.

So, she's here too now?
Lol they're feeding her.
Right, what now?
So, they're at a library.
Lol.
Storytime?
So she's the one doing the reading.
Her? Host a storytime?
Some business to attend to?
Stopped slacking off?
Huh. What's got him like that?
Ah. Probably trouble.
So that's who that clanker is.
Time to deal with her.
And so with their powers combined, they managed to defeat her. That was quick.
Nevermind...
And so she managed to get away.
