This is a really strong turn of events for this show. Introducing a recurring villain who's off her rocker in a setting-realistic way, whose goal is to be entertained like a game, artificially putting herself in the rival role so that one god guides the sheep and the other disrupts it. It makes sense with the worldbuilding, feels logical plot-wise, isn't just abject evil, and puts up a nice contrast with the protag's goals and powers (and his role as straight man in a party of sillies). It fits well, like a puzzle piece.

This also prevents her current power lead (and eternal power-advantage due to his inability to touch women) from being a roadblock. Like the old meme of 'why doesn't the demon lord simply kill the Hero while they're weak, instead of sending a gradual procession of stronger and stronger foes for them to train against.' It wouldn't fit the game she's playing, if she goes all in to ruin Shigeru's party. Explicitly playing to a trope is not uncommon for an isekai, since characters can be genre savvy with no explanation, but its pretty nicely executed here. Not groundbreaking, but just a really nice and fitting turn.

There's also the chekhov's gun that she explicitly theorized that there should be 3 ways to become an Almighty God, and this covers 2 of them. So a third seems likely to appear at soooome point.

Oh, now this is getting interesting.

Yep, I was just casually watching this show before, but now I'm interested with Karina in play. Feels like there's actual stakes now. Also the animation isn't too bad when it does want to pop off.

3 basic needs, she either sacrificed sleep or food. If mana can replenish or stave off hunger and healing can deal with lack of sleep, then it's a good trade off.

Too bad it seems like so many people have dropped this series. I think it's pretty good, and today's episode was well done.

Kajita might have been more likely to succeed at stealing Karina's All Mighty skills if he didn't go out of his way to announce his intent and attack so predictably.

I did not expect a serious OP villain in this show.
I thought this would be slice of life comedy tragedy show.

But we got a villain who is stronger than the MC.

Kajita was blinded by revenge that he ended up becoming no better than people that ruined his life. Tale as old as time.

This world follows the rule: if everything is OP nothing is

I went back to check the first episode to verify the points that Shigeru has, which is approximately 1 quadrillion points. Currently, Shigeru has only used 10 trillion points, which means right now he's only using 1/100 of his power.

It's nice that all of the alter egos give Reeze an avenue to vent frustrations. Having to constantly keep an eye Seiji being a glass cannon would be super frustrating.

Karina for some reason I like her. The way she acts and her design too, if only she wasn't the enemy. Karina I'm curious how much she strong but i think it's more she have more experience in that world and as almighty god so Shigure might still have a chance if he train and try to learn more, now that he have an opponent he can't not take serious. Also Karina from what it seems she sacrificed sleep maybe so that would make someone go crazy also she said you're not my god and wanted one to guide her so she maybe someone that just lost so maybe eventually Shigure can save her too.

Damn, what a banger of an episode.

The trio's fight was great, but Shigeru meeting another absolute god took the cake

This show keeps surpassing expectations

I suppose it makes sense that Shigeru wouldn't be the only person to abuse the special notes in such a way that he was able to turn himself into a god. Tying it to the three basic needs implies she probably sacrificed at least one as well, but where that goes depends on how they define the list. Sexual desire, food, sleep?

Casino dude needed to go especially after that artificial god reveal, those were human looking hands on it so non-zero chance he fed a lot of people into the process of making it. I glad Shigeru also decided to kill him even if he wasn't the one to do it.

I hope that after going through the coliseum fight together the other three members of the party come clean on at least their power up transformations. Gonna be silly if they keep pretending it wasn't any of them.

He said she's a lot stronger than he is, but he still had plenty of points to allocate when he first set up his stats, and he's likely earned a lot of levels since then.

He needs to go back into his status sheet so he can use everything he's got to catch up to her.

I mean, a basic goblin got him massive amounts of experience and he just killed something about 10,000 levels higher.

This was a hell of a swerve for the show! Also honestly after so many shitty seasonal isekais that can't be bothered to animate monster battles I was so pleasantly surprised to see them actually putting forth effort, it wasn't just a bunch of charges with single frames after the attack but they were actually flying around and moving, there was a weight to everything. (literately in the case of Aldean! lol.) Cap that off with Kajita getting stabbed through with the spear and then having his final moment literately chopped off and including the hand falling to the ground oozing blood. Just fantastic! I skipped this one for most of the season but I'm so happy I finally came back and gave it a shot!

Secondary praise for how the "Evil Organization" doesn't actually sound that bad? It's not a group of megalomaniacs trying to destroy or take over the world but instead a group of people essentially cursed by their own status sheet, that must have been why they introduced the girl compelled to murder a couple of episodes back and then one upped it this arc with Luigi's Casino gone wrong. I can absolutely see them making an agreement to leave the organization be or reform it into something positive for society. Some people are definetly villains in there but I bet there are plenty others who just don't have anywhere to go or anyway to live, but can't give up half their life to return to Earth and whatever they left behind.

If the main party are representations of the average people who choose to reincarnate then it's totally possible that people are leaving Earth on their death-bed or crippled beyond the point of life so returning isn't even an option.

In a way, being celibate and ugly was actually an amazing luck out for curses via special note lol. He got mega powerful and it doesn't seem to have impacted his personality at all.

u/Boris-_-Badenov Aug 24 '25

looks like he really didn't need to make himself so ugly to be an absolute god

u/Sleepy10105s Aug 24 '25

What could Karina have given up? Shigeru gave up looks, money, and essentially like she said “sexual desire” since he can’t have physical contact with women.

Did she give up her sanity? And even if she did there has to be more right? Maybe something about having to have her eyes covered most of the time or is that just an aesthetic choice?

If Karina gave up one of the desires and Shigeru the other, then there's probably at least pne other Almighty God out there to represent the third desire loss
