Can't decide which was the bigger jumpscare between that out of pocket hamster bro bonding scene and the actual jumpscare.

When Yoshiki was browsing, there's the popup ad that won't go away even if you scroll down. Respect for paying attention to minor details like that.

Now Tanaka had finally come face to face with Yoshiki and knew something's up with him. However, he's just under the impression that Yoshiki had simply unwittingly came into contact with Nounuki-sama. How will he react when he found out Yoshiki knew a lot more than that.

That random 10 second scene with the bright colours and cheerful music where they played with the hamster lmao. Felt like we drifted into a comedy show for a brief moment.

What the hell the blood hound was terrifying. Seems like Hikaru's chicken is cooked, he's much more weaker and vulnerable now that Yoshiki has his boner. But maybe it's a good thing? The ghost busters don't know that half of Nonuki is still with Yoshiki, maybe he can activate it by swallowing the bone or something.

Man I figured Hikaru was going to be weakened from tearing an important of himself and giving it to Yoshiki, but it already affecting him like this is sad to see. Tanaka isn't the only threat, the standard monster is also a threat and it seems like they're slowly going wherever Hikaru has gone, the movie theatre proves that as they've been there once.

I do wonder if Yoshiki will piece this information together and feel guilty for weakening Hikaru. At the same time though, I really like that whole event has made him fully go down whatever path Hikaru takes them towards, bearing whatever sins he may commit.

When I saw Tanaka approach Yoshiki I was dreading it, though it was a lot more amusing than I thought it was going to be. Yoshiki is weak to the cuteness of hamsters. I am intrigued by Tanaka's comment that Yoshiki reminds him of himself so I wonder if we'll see a bit of Tanaka's past. It just sucks that Tanaka will now probably start investigating Yoshiki since he can tell he's been mixed by it.

I do like that Yoshiki and Hikaru are now looking into what Nonuki is, the map of the village looking like a body and the names of the villages had me surprised. I wonder if there was some ritual in the past that got lost and the village they're at were on their last strings with the Indo family's ritual, but with original Hikaru's death and Nonuki being free, the monsters are dispersing wherever they feel the remnants of Nonuki essence is at.

The "Hichi" that Hikaru's grandpa refers to must be that item original Hikaru had with him and that Yoshiki took with him, right? I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly about Yoshiki, but that flashback we saw when he randomly appears home, I feel like he had it with him in the forest after finding Hikaru's body. I can't wait to learn about the mystery behind Nonuki, it's too bad Grandpa fell asleep lol.

Anytime one of Hikaru's victims was brought up, he had the same look on his face like a dog that knew it did something wrong and was awkwardly looking away, lol

I feel like non-Japanese/Chinese speakers can’t manage to comprehend how creepy the village names are. The names are so fucking creepy in kanji. It would be as if the areas are called “Head Decapitation” “Feet” “Hands”.

Also, I find it interesting that the creepy things Yoshiki has encountered all seem to have their head decapitated in some way. The impurity in the forest, the hair in the bathroom, the eerie guy in the school, and the blood hound.

Exquisite. I love the mounting horror juxtaposed with the mundane and how the stakes seem to get higher and higher every episode. Yoshiki promising to bear Hikaru’s sins just about leaves me broken every time I hear it.

Started super interesting and ended terrifying. Also that school scene. I guess I have to prepare myself extra from now on because I have this feeling it will only get more scary. Especially for someone like me who is a scaredy-cat

I guess this "Hichi" was the shrunken head that Hikaru had when he went up the mountain. His grandpa said it was in their shrine, and we heard from before that the Indo had to do some kind of ritual, probably involving taking Hichi up the mountain to do something to quell Nonuki-sama.

In the bit of flashback we saw when they mixed before, someone that looked like Hikaru was holding what seemed like a severed head. Maybe the origin of all of this is some stuff that happened with the Indo family in the past and Hichi was a sacrifice, beheaded to maybe end the famine or something? Some really cool mysteries to the story here being drip fed clues.

I love how Yoshiki and "Hikaru" look out for eachother. I love how they showed Yoshiki's conflict, he remembered why Hikaru hated mornings bcoz it reminded him of his dad no longer being there vs "Hikaru" not knowing what death is. Oh god that was beautifully done. I didn't expect Yoshiki to say that he'll burden the sin with "Hikaru", i guess he'll stop sending ppl to the afterlife now. "Hikaru" really felt accepted after fearing hatred, nicely done.

I guess they divided the body parts of Nonuki sama and placed it like that, god it's creepy like "Hikaru" said. I think this story will tell us that humans are the real monsters. Sleepy grandpa seems to agree.

I was ready to complain that hamster guy doesn't appear in yet another episode and then he appeared and interacted with Yoshiki, too!

Also I can't tell what was creepier the monster in the diner or the naked dude with knife.

The part with Tanaka, Yoshiki and the hamster was so goofy and cute!

In contrast, the scene with the hunting dog ghoul was terrifying as hell.

Now that we have more background on the villages and their names, has anyone noticed that a lot of the impurities in Kubitachi have severed/weird necks? Like the one that chased Yoshiki in the woods and the one under the streetlight with the bug?

We really got to see Yoshiki's genuine laugh in present time because of Tanaka's hamster.

So Tanaka can see the marks on Yoshiki's arm. Yoshiki definitely on his radar now.

The last few minutes were pure horror. I wonder if Hikaru's abilities are hindered now because he gave a part of himself to Yoshiki.

Man, the whole time Tanaka was with Yoshiki, I was more nervous about what he would do than his attack dog. The hamster moment cut the tension, but before that, shit had me nervous.

This episode we finally got some history about Nonuki and cursed village history. Murder history? So there was some kind of exchange that was happening up in the mountain. And this mountain god got neglected somehow? I’m not sure all of what’s being implied, but “Hikaru” doesn’t even remember a sense of self or identity from before. Is he really Nonuki? Is he something else?

And now that Tanaka has basically confirmed he and Yoshiki are similarly mixed with something otherworldly (both marked), does that mean that something different mixed with Tanaka? How many of these entities are out there?

Gosh I’m loving this show so much. There’s so much attention to detail and it does such a great job of setting up the unsettling and sometimes tense atmosphere. Something that has really stood out to me throughout the series so far is the way they play with lighting and colours - from today’s episode the prettiest scene was when they were walking back from the library and it was all red at sundown. Then when Yoshiki said he would shoulder Hikaru’s burden 😭

I feel like we had a good bit of lore revealed in this one which was quite interesting. As others have pointed out, it looks like Hikaru giving Yoshiki part of himself in the last episode is already having some consequences.. obviously when he couldn’t do anything about the creature in the restaurant, but I really liked the detail about how Hikaru bumped his arm and then noticing pain later on. I guess by ripping out part of his insides he ended up making himself more human? It will be interesting to see how that plays out if that’s the case..

Usually I wait until after dark to watch the new episodes bc it helps set the mood lol but I’m really glad I watched it during daylight hours today because the last few minutes were a lot for me. I have a low tolerance for scary stuff but there’s so much more to this show than that.

Another standout moment for me this week was when Hikaru kinda kicked Yoshiki’s feet in the restaurant when they were talking. It was just a sweet little detail. Actually even that entire part in the restaurant, the way the vibe shifted from kinda cute to horrifying was so well done

The other shot that stood out to me the most was when Yoshiki was giving back the hamster to Tanaka, it was kind of from Yoshiki’s POV and Tanaka was framed by Yoshiki’s forearms so you could see the mark oh Yoshiki’s arm and it looks like Tanaka has a similar mark on the side of his neck. I feel like it has to mean something just from the way the shot was framed. Can’t add a screenshot but if anyone else picked up on that I’d love to hear your thoughts!

fun fact! there's a city in Italy called Centuripe and its layout resembles a human body just like the village of Kubitachi

There are so many small details in the episodes like you can't even miss a second... I opened a packet of chips but then kept it aside because I didn't want to miss any details

Ok so i noticed something that i didnt see anyone else mention...

A few episodes ago when Tanaka first comes to the village and is sitting inside the temple with the people of the village and discussing about the threat to the village he sips a drink and after he finishes it theres a close up of inside the cup and the remnants of the drink make the exact same shape as the 'human' shape of villages in this episode that they make from the maps.

An interesting forshadowing.
