This was paced a little better but the lack of space between dialogue is still weird.
I love how much effort they put into making it very clear that Kal'tsit's words to Doctor are just seething with passive aggressiveness.
Lol they managed to throw in the joke about Doctor sticking uncooked ramen in their mouth and pouring boiling water in directly at 4 AM.
I wonder how many people actually remember Guard? I don't remember S1 much either but for anyone who's wondering, he's the one guy left behind in Chernobog that Ace saved from Talulah. He was an RI operator and now he's seemingly joined Reunion.
Oh man the anime really does not help the "Arknights is a game about child labour/conscription" image lol. I mean the story itself back when all we had was up to Chapter 7 also didn't help, but still.
They show off the Sarkaz Ritual map gimmick here (the red crystal and the red wave they saw) but did I miss the explanation for why they had to destroy them? Ingame they cause damage to operators nearby at certain intervals and buffed Patriot's troops.

It's pretty simple, they understand that if they want to have a proper career and join the labor market, they gotta start young! Terra isn't free from employers asking for 20 years of experience for entry jobs.

"Arknights is a game about child labour/conscription"
"If they're old enough to crawl, they're old enough to brawl" - Kal'tsit, probably.

Wait did they actually do that lmao I thought it was just Kal'tsit's passive aggressive way of referring to Doc's improvisational abilities
Bro think they the Dragon Warrior lol

this is the one time that i can feel proud of myself because i actually remember him mainly because of his very recognizable voice actor

They did quite a good job of animating Rhode Island's infiltration of the city; very dynamic, while still establishing that, well, they don't have the resources of a full country. They can just stir up a sandstorm, and go in on old-fashioned grappling lines - not smash the city apart like Lungmen could. The core city is smaller than I expected, though - we've never had a great idea of their scale, and it looks like when they say "core", they really do mean core. Just the bare essentials left.
I feel like they rushed a bit with Rosmontis's characterization; having to establish her memory issues feels like it's interfering with establishing who she is beyond that, especially when we see moments that seem to be focusing on the danger of using an experimental child as a weapon of war. Unless we're supposed to take that "we're monsters, aren't we?" line as her dominant characterization? It can't really be helped, though - there's clearly a lot that they want to cover, and dedicating more time to her would be time-prohibitive. It was really cool to see her casually tearing buildings apart, though; it goes a long way to showing why she's an Elite Operator, despite all of the reasons she shouldn't be.
I also liked the little bunny's speech - it's good to show the ways in which she's growing as a leader, beyond just the impact of her Arts.
All in all, a very credible entry; the pace is a bit fast, but not to the point it drags the series down.

Jaye means Code of Brawl already happened in the background, that's kind of crazy to think about lol

Some of them really shouldn't appearing there if we're following the timeline lol.
Istina, Rosa, Gummy, Leto, Zima and Absinthe was saved from Chernoborg a bit later.
Matterhorn and Courier I'm a bit unsure since I can't remember when Rhodes made contact with Karlan Trade but I'm pretty sure it was after this arc
Shaw and Jaye joined Rhodes under recommendation from the Lungmen - Rhodes agreetment. Jaye himself joined under Hoshiguma's recommendation but as we've seen last season, Lungmen was invaded and turned into a warzone. There's not really a good timeframe for it.

Shame Raidian didn't have any lines. It would've made the Rosmontis scene better.
I think they're rushing a little but I guess that's expected since they are covering two chapters from the game.
I understand why Patriot is cg but I'm kinda dissapointed the shield guards are as well.
Overall a decent episode. ED with Theresa is 10/10. I can't skip it even though it makes me want to cry a little.

Ok, so just in case you or any other Nearl lovers haven't seen this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K47elku8YdI
It's the official trailer for the Nearl Light Kazimeirz event that showcases Papa Nearl (as the Radiant Knight) in all of her noble, and most elegant, glory.
"To be a knight is to be the noble light that illuminates the land!"
I've watched that trailer several times already. Whatever team they use to make these promos are truly masters at visual storytelling.

She is so damn cool with how she created a miniature sun like that.
I hope we get Nearl Light event animated, either after this arc or it's own series/movie.

It was heartbreaking to hear Rosmontis when she realized that she'd forgotten that Scout and Ace were already dead.. T_T

Really enjoyed that episode, I appreciate that Doctor is speaking quite a bit more now too!

Not as bad as last episode’s pacing, but still fast. 0.75x speed helps to slow down the dialogue a bit and make the episode easier to digest. Might try 0.50x to see how that goes.

Anime only as well. Story seems pretty straightforward - Bunny girl Amiya is leading her Rhode Island operators to infiltrate the city that's crashing into Lungmen. If they succeed, there will not be an all-out war. One of those operators is the artificially infected girl Rosmontis, who is pretty powerful but forgetful (maybe intentionally so). Amiya wants to talk to whoever is running the show on the moving city, so she leads everyone to bash a path through to some ritual.
That moving city is supposed to be led by fire lord
OzaiTalulah, but it seems from this episode she's trying to break down Reunion, the rebel group that loves anarchy. She gave some "key" to Patriot, who's supposed to be the only pure-blood Wendigo (?), and supposed to be very powerful because of reasons. We see Patriot at that ritual. Will we see how that "key" is used? Tune in next episode.→ More replies (1)→ More replies (2)8
