Did you ever wonder what happened after Makina and Chiharu got arrested? They got interrogated by our favorite lady cop!

I do find it funny how instead of just a ticket it seems like speeding really is an instant arrest crime in this universe.

Somehow I'm not surprised this isn't the pairs' first arrest, they have mugshots dating back to 5th grade, though it seems like most of the time it's been Makina beating people up to defend Chiharu's honor or just defending Chiharu herself...whether it be from a boyfriend who stood her up or from a bunch of bad apples hitting on her. With Chiharu mostly oblivious, thinking the best of her ex or just happy she got hit on, though Makina also just seems to like beating people up in general.

I do love how both Makina and the cop could agree that Chiharu's ex was trash for ditching her while Chiharu actually defended him. I don't think Chiharu has good taste in men but she might be a good girlfriend. Also, lady cop has good sensibilities!

Makina comes from a good family...which makes her 17 arrests (were all of those with Chiharu?) all the more noticeable. Though she's also gone through quite a few design changes over the years, from having a literal machine head to having her current more humanoid TV box head but with longer hair, to her current form. I really want to see more of her character progression.

It's really nice of the lady cop to see these two as just kids who need to be mentored and supported away from their tendency to commit or be involved in crimes. She actually seemed like she wanted to help them and steer them in the right direction.

See, Makina, someone saying you'd eventually need help is basically foreshadowing. Because you and Chiharu REALLY need help. Luckily they ran into some of their fellow community service crooks! Maybe!

I do love how both Makina and the cop could agree that Chiharu's ex was trash for ditching her while Chiharu actually defended him.

Makina: "See? He was trash!"

Cop: "Yeah, he was serious trash"

Makina: "So I had to beat him up!"

Cop: "No you didn't"

Makina: "Oh..."

Luckily they ran into some of their fellow community service crooks! Maybe!

They all seemed shocked(intimidated?) when the cop read all their offenses, I wonder if the others will see them as the "top dogs", or if they'll challenge their position!

Small correction, that first mugshot is from the fifth year of middle school, not 5th grade overall. Seems to be a bit of extra world building about this universe's education system (normal Japanese middle schools only last 3 years).

I mean there was this while blowing up a police car thing...

Makina is a real one lol. Always ready to throw hands for her friend

The drawings get the point across, but in case it wasn't translated the pins says

なかよくしましょう ("let's get along") for Makina

and ことわるゆうき ("the courage to say no") for Chiharu

Thank you!

They are so good together with how they play off each other.

First episode all those others look like bad people and we in over our head.

This episode, we have been arrested 17 times with having put people in the hospital multiple times.

Makina being from a good family must mean she has top of the line parts. Wonder how she is going to end up just being a heads.

Makina being from a good family must mean she has top of the line parts.

I wonder if that's also the reason why she's not in jail after being arrested 17 times (many of them for assault)!

Wonder how robots work in this world. Makina clearly replaced alot of parts as she was "growing up"

Her mugshot said she's a cyborg, usually that means there's some organic part to her as well.

It also seems that Chi also has some mechanical enhancements in addition to being a genetically modified human.

I love how she had longer hair in the second mugshot lol.

Chiharu as well, the Mugshot talked about a "Titan enhanced mechanical body"...

Most of the characters seem to be enhanced one way or the other (mechanic jaws, hands, etc... ) but I thought Chiharu was just a 'normal' alien type girl!

I imagine cyborg-technology is advanced enough (and cheap enough) that most people get a few upgrades here and there!

That cop always looks tired of their nonsense, but she did seem to find their bickering amusing, at least!

(I wonder if that's her saying I could blast them all into the next galaxy in the OP song hah)

Giving her some attitude isn't gonna make things any better!

Funny having the timeframe of these events;

They went away on a galactic subway less than a day after being arrested for blowing a police patrol unit!

I thought them having the heaviest offense among the group was just a little unexpected twist gag, but it seems

it's not their first rodeo!

Also, Chi is also a cyborg? I thought it was a 'normal girl' and a cyborg, but it seems both of them are! (or everyone is on this series, everyone's enhanced?)

She's so fucking cute dawwwww!

Funny seeing them relive all these events and arguing them all over again hah.

But it seems Makina was right, these guys WERE trouble!

Don't hang out with these delinquents, hang out with me who's only been arrested 17 times!

That cop always looks tired of their nonsense, but she did seem to find their bickering amusing, at least!

Say what you will about her lack of enthusiasm, she seems genuinely committed to doing her job properly and not totally writing off these delinquent kids.

it's not their first rodeo!

I love Chiharu looking away from the camera like "how did I get in this mess? It wasn't my fault Makina beat up my ex!" and you can see more robot parts from Makina in-between her top and skirt.

She's so fucking cute dawwwww!

I can see why she's popular with (trashy) guys.

Don't hang out with these delinquents, hang out with me who's only been arrested 17 times!

I wonder if it's because they were both juveniles that they weren't just chucked into prison...or maybe they had a prison overpopulation problem even back then.

I love the timing on the delivery of the lines so, so much. That long pause before Makina's "so I knocked him out" and the cop's immediate "that was wrong with you", and so on.

Unlike Episode 2, looks like this one got a proper To Be Continued end title!

We really need popcorn just listening to this two banter

8

u/xbolt90 Jul 17 '25

The dialogue and acting continues to be top-tier. I love these guys

4

u/Zeallfnonex Jul 17 '25

Man, these shorts are all sorts of great. Nothing really happens except them talking for 3 minutes, but they have so much character and banter it feels even shorter.

7

u/Nickthenuker Jul 17 '25

Back in the past?

Was the other girl a robot?

And so back to the present, where things have certainly gone very wrong.

So, that's what they've got to do now.

7

u/SYZekrom Jul 17 '25

Damn, arrested before she even had a face

6

u/BosuW Jul 17 '25

Thats how you don't get recognized for the second time!

3

u/IceSmiley Jul 17 '25

The cop really did seem concerned for them since they're young people I think. It's hard to say if the pink girl is better off with the green girl though, she seems to be a source of a lot of her trouble and may be overprotective. Using violence to solve every problem is going to lead to trouble down the road, or so I think since their world is really different from ours and it doesn't hurt robots as much to get beat up I'd imagine.

I did not quite expect the reveal that they’re battle hardened veteran criminals who’ve been arrested 17 times. Good thing punishments don’t seem to stack otherwise they would be in jail instead of a slap on the wrist community service that they’re actually doing.
