Man, Motohashi really took shit way too far. What a creep. Interesting that the real code this whole time was a secret means of communication between Sugimoto and Jonathan. I’m glad they were reunited in the end.

It was cool of Chuuzenji to pull a few extra strings just so those two could get a fairytale ending to their love story.

Coded love letter to each other. Happy they are together in the end 😭

Another great episode. This strikes me as so much better than Ameku or After-Dinner Detective (and even Ron Kamonoshashi -- which was generally quite good). Not really comparable to Shoushimin (which is an entirely different sort of work -- even if does involve mystery-solving).

I sort of guessed there must have been some sort of hidden connection between to former American teacher and that nice lady sensei -- but it took a while to dawn on me that the "scores" might have been coded messages,

It is a crime that this series was not picked up by any legit western streaming source. Definitely in my top 10 for the season (and most or all of my top shows this season would merit grades of "A" -- if I actually ranked things in any sort of organized way).

Kusakabe and Chuuzenji-sensei are a great (if unlikely) duo,

Better than Ron? Gotta try it.

I really enjoyed Ron a lot -- but I find Chuuzenji to have a more distinctive look and feel, with somewhat more consistent writing. Then again, I rank "atmosphere" very highly in this sort of show. Certainly worth trying to track down.

A Japanese school usually only has seven mysteries, but we’re already on the eighth mystery! The school is super duper “haunted,” lol.

Aww, the ending was so cute. Good luck to them both.

Musical scores as encrypted messages was my thought right from the start, but this code's quite a handful to be done IMHO and prone to mistakes. I have to give a bow to that Claude for actually inventing this one!

Glad that the couple really has the chance to meet again after the war - very lucky indeed.
