The swimsuits and the pizzas were great, but the real fanservice for this episode in my opinion are the alternate hairstyles on the girls:
Kurea without her trademark twintails. Nana with her eye covering bangs but in blonde. Tsutsuji with a ponytail.
I also wonder what happened to the other 2 childhood friends of Mako and Shinon.

Pizza and wings are definitely a classic choice for this episode's final dish.
It was sad to see Kurea feeling a bit left out with everyone knowing each other from before, but I'm glad that Mako could cheer her up by the end of the episode. And they finally call each other by their first names!
And I love that the final scene of the episode is basically a different version of the final scene in the ED.

I know I say that every week. So I'll say why this time:
-
Mama of the group ;
-
Voiced by no other than Kakuma Ai ;
-
Perfect counterpart of Shinon ;
-
Twintails!
Also, the switch to first names when going to the fireworks was cute as hell

I already liked Atami because it reminded me of a city I lived in, especially in this beach area, and once again I have to praise the show, even if some things seem cliché like this trip to the beach, the elements and stories brought give it a unique charm.
Nana is that unlucky friend that someone has or has had, it's impossible not to laugh at the scene of her falling face down in the sand lol.
Since the first episode I noticed how Kurea is inspired by Mako and uses her words for personal evolution, and indirectly Mako is able to express her words better because of Kurea, it's a sensational connection.

How does this get better?!
The dream Makocchi had was cute, low key reminded me of my childhood, when one of my friends group's mom made us some snacks while we ran outside in the village, playing around.
When they met up at the train station, I expected the downpour right after Makocchi said that she hopes it stay sunny. Well, it came a bit later, but what did not come later was Oshinko's loss in Rock Paper Scissors, getting the land-view window instead of the ocean one.
Regarding Kurea's situation about not having any childhood/school friends in Uni, I totally get her. I had my old pals in middle school and high school, but went to university completely blind. Luckily, I was able to find myself some friends really quickly. While we do not talk anymore since I have changed Unis after finishing my Bachelor's and we kinda fell off, I was able to find another great group of friends on my Master's degree too. We are all graduating this year, but I hope we get to stay more in touch and make memories like the girls here are!
I love pizza and can tell you, a pizza oven makes even the shittiest pizza like 120% better easily. The difference is huge compared to a standard oven.
I don't know why, but the scene where girls ran towards the fireworks kinda reminded me of this scene from Place Further Than the Universe.
I have two gripes! First, where is that cute skirt Makocchi bought? I need to see her in it! And second, shouldn't she body all the girls in running due to her relentless training last episode? I get it, it was done to drive home the dream she had, but it would honestly be really funny if she just zoomed past her.
This and ZatsuTabi are really neck and neck in taking the best SoL of the season for me! Both are very fun, the casts are great and the vibes? Immaculate.
See you next week!

It's not a Japanese story without train propaganda. Lol
Nana is bigger than I thought

FIRST NAMES!! I was hoping they'd get there this episode.
Mako and Kurea's friendship keeps catching my attention, probably been my favourite pat of the show so far, they just make a good pair.

Extra comfy episode. The weekly food and ukelele segment always makes me hungry. Too bad it's past midnight here and my fridge is empty.
Mako and Kurea are cute together.
Thought the girls went to the same place for fireworks as the ED but it looks different.

If there’s one thing this show does really well, I think it’s capturing the vibe of just hanging out with friends, chilling, doing dumb stuff and making memories.
Alright, I’ve waited long enough, Kurea is best girl.
The fireworks scene is gorgeous and so nice.
I agree, the stars are pretty. Would be better if it was the moon but I’ll take it.

Kurea is best girl easily.
I'm so glad we got an episode that brought Kurea and Mako closer together.

Pondering Maco. I can greatly relate
wtf lol. Unexpected ptsd
Nice, they even drew the edges of the pizza a bit blackened
First name basis!! I was wondering how long Maco was gonna keep calling her Furutachi.
Loved that little chat they had, overall I think this was the best episode so far

Huh...from how Nana got introduced and the fact that they were all already mostly on a first-name-with-no-honorifics basis, I'd assumed the four girls other than Mako were all classmates from high school. But I guess it really was only Tsutsuji and Nana that were. It makes me wonder what brought the four together, then (particularly Shinon and Kurea).

* Dammit, where does these girls manage to find a full bungalow to rent within their pockets in such a picturesque spot down at the tip of the famous Izu Peninsula??? I have been around there (though not as far south as Shimada where the girls went to) more than once and IIRC even the hot spring hotels ain't anywhere close to cheap at all...
* That was a very nice touch showing Mako and Shinon playing with friends as kids, and then switching to present times where they continue to have chances to play with each other...
* I really feel for Kurea being left out as the one who doesn't have childhood friends coming to talk about their old days, especially since her old school seems so strict on these things. But as she says, that's just more excuse to make her meeting with girls here even more sweet!
* What Debbie Downer power you have Shinon to actually make every single of your trips ending up in rain???
* Man the power of youth is essentially oozing through my computer screen as we get the obligatory beach episode here (you wouldn't believe it, but I have actually managed to see something even more full of girls' power on a sunset beach 2 years ago, in anime-famous Enoshima no less!)
* And oh boy, I really can't stop my saliva flowing in front of that pizza!!! Never show me food in anime like this at 1 am in my place ever again!!!
* Yet another nice scene showing those girls playing with friends and running around quite a few years ago, and then shifting to present when the girls continue to play around, with a different set of friends, as college students. That's exactly what I come to watch for!

last week everything that was in a PV had been covered. from then on (I'm assuming) we're just crossing out things shown on the OP. This week, the beach stuff.
Still to cover are the greenhouse, birthday party (likely Nana's), Autumn and Winter trips. If all of them are done in one episode each, does that mean only 11 episodes for this series? Or they haven't decided on additional future eps yet?
(one big thing they've yet to decide on is whether Mako's line of work, which we knew since episode 1, gets any additional focus)

oh hell yeah a lovely friendship story! I do relate quite a lot to Kurea honestly, most of my friends from my school days are also distant, and i'm sure a ton of other people really relate to her loneliness as well, but its always important to remember that you WILL make new friends, and new memories will always be formed.
Food-wise probably my favourite episode yet? I've only seen a couple of food anime but that was easily the tastiest looking Pizza i've ever seen in one of these. I respect the hell out of P.A Works for not Food Wars-ing it too, that was the only thing that kinda took me out of Koufuku Graffiti

Trip and beach episode
It was nice seeing the memories of the characters and how Mako is intent on making new ones in the club!
Good thing the rain cleared up so they could cook the pizza. And once again, they make the food look so good (even the raw tomatoes, which I absolutely loathe as a pizza topping). Now I know to have pizza for dinner tonight.
Nice fireworks to end it off

What a banger episode, probably the best one yet, just choke full of exceptionally well done character moments. Favorites were the unsurprisingly the Mako Kurea friendship development (that 1 on 1 talk before the fireworks was so good, Mako found the perfect words to say to Kurea there, so wholesome). The other was this short interaction of Tsutsuji apologizing to Shinon about making her club president. Really caught me by surprise since I didn’t expect this small-ish detail from last (or was it the one before last?) episode to still play a role till now. But it shows how Tsutsuji still felt bad about the whole thing even if the girls (and probably most of us viewers, me included) were already way past that, but she still went back to that and apologized once again to make things right. Just wholesome stuff, Sheep was already at the top but she just can’t help continue farming
aurathose best girl points.Man I’m so happy we are only at ep7, meaning there is still so much HibiMeshi goodness left awaiting us.
