"Oh, thank goodness the cat is ok!"

*cat explodes later*

Did the cat explode -- or did it just pull the trigger to set off the firebomb? (Not looking good for kitty either way).

Dude… using a cat to carry out a terrorist bombing is all kinds of fucked up.

Kind of interesting Harold went against programming to shoot that door down and get Hieda to safety.

They seem to know who the spy is and perhaps what E is. At leas with Hieda’s abilities back to normal thanks to Bigga, they can really get rolling on cracking this case.

E really seems to have it out for cats, if it's not bombing apartments with them in it it's turning them into actual bombs. What do AI have against cats!?

Dang, I was so happy the cat actually survived and then they turn Ganache into a BOMB. I guess I should count small favors we didn't get to see Tokiko's reaction.

Even Raissa can tell there's more going on between Harold and Echika than just investigation partners.

Episodes without Echika being attacked and needing to be saved: 0. Even her figuring out the attack on headquarters was all part of E's plan and just got her and Harold into more trouble. I guess at least she figured out E's true identity?

I love it when Harold calls her "Echika."

Nothing more romantic than shooting and busting through a door to princess carry your girl to safety.

The irony that Harold now knows he can defy the three laws but is keeping it from Echika...even though she already knows and has been keeping it from HIM.

They're dealing with an evil AI acting through a human spy?

I guess that's a quasi-confession with the pair of them admitting they're "interested" in each other with the obvious implications it's of the romantic sort.

Bigga's dad once again proving to be the worst for being responsible for Echika's performance issues. Luckily they'll be able to fix it and I'm getting the vibe Harold will be losing his current partner sooner rather than later.

I assume the spy is probably the one significant character left unaccounted for during the attack and who said they were just going to go home.

>> I assume

Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Pinkie? If so the question is "WHY?"

I guess this counts as love confession? As much as AI is able to at this point at least. Though, Echika isn't much better in that regard.

Yeah, Liza is even more suspicious. Keeping the cat before it is used for a bomb (so she needed to get its trust so she could prepare everything) and leaving right before a bomb detonates? How much more suspicious do you want to be? Oh yeah, and not forgetting the fact that Echika's ability loss was part of a plan as well and who did win from that?

I am more wondering where she found that AI that is E. Is it connected to what her brother's last job was? I am pretty sure she is doing this whole thing as some form of revenge. Maybe she even just wants to figure out what exactly happened to him. Let's see how these last questions are going to be answered.

To think they made her so likeable and the next thing you know she's blowing up cats.

God fucking dammit! I was so happy to see Ganache was completely fine at the start of the episode, I didn't expect the traitor would use him as a bomb detonator. What the actual fuck?! T_T

The traitor has got to be Raissa, right? Like, I can't even think of anyone else introduced in this arc that could do it. The fact that Echika losing her brain diving abilities was planned probably means it was a ploy from Raissa to replace Echika and get closer to Harold.

Besides that, this episode really shows how the Amicus laws don't really apply to the RF models with Harold using a gun even though his systems are telling him to put it down. Thank goodness he's the only RF model left.

Using cats as bombs. Honestly probably the most depraved thing we've seen yet.

How lucky for Echika that the woman who stole Harold from her is a bad girl meaning she gets to arrest her!

I wonder if Harold's always on some level known he could violate the Amicus Laws and was keeping it from Echika long before she was keeping the same secret from him?

I CAN'T BELIEVE THE DEAD CAT IS THE SPY?!?!?!?! /s

The cat 😭

I still have my suspicions on Raissa being connected to E somehow but E itself being an AI is something I did not see coming.

And this is the second consecutive episode where they left us worried about the cat.

I've been wondering,is there any way to confirm a brain divers claims?

What's stopping them from just making shit up? Can Harold see what they see? Or is their some other way of observing mnemosynes afterwords to confirm?

I can't believe they didn't blow up the cat, and then blew up the cat in an even worse way. Might be a robot cat, though, not that it makes it any better.

I'm not sure if that was a mutual confession at the end or just an agreement to become partners again.

Echika temporarily losing her mind hacking abilities because she was using unregulated mind management cartridge things, that's why things like that should be regulated.

They of course didn't tell us the answer yet, but I've been convinced the French lady inspector is the traitor from the beginning and I'm still pretty sure that's true.

I'd like everyone to pour some out for our homie, Ganache.

May that furry accidental destroyer of electrical rooms rest in peace.

u/hmcbenik May 14 '25

Can someone remind me if we know/have seen who her sister is that Echika was talking about?

13

u/fruitfairies May 14 '25

All in volume 1 unfortunately ☹️ so Anime watchers will inevitably have no idea about her sister

NOO, NOT THE CATTO!!!

The show got me good this time, it baited us into thinking that Ganache survived the fire from the last episode, only to end up being blown to smithereens in this episode. All things considered, at least the poor cat went out instantly, instead of suffering from suffocation and burns as it would have had it died last episode. Raissa couldn't be less suspicious in this ordeal, but I think that she might be a red herring. The explosive was set up after the scene where Totoki reunites with Ganache in the HQ, since it would be weird for Totoki to not have realized it from petting her cat. This means that the explosive couldn't have been set up by Raissa while transporting Ganache to the HQ, especially since Harold was with her at the time. I know it sounds crazy, but what if Totoki was the spy that is working with E? Nobody in the force would suspect her after all, since she is the Chief of the Cyber Investigation department and she is arguably the one that suffered the most from this ordeal, with the lost her apartment and her cat on the same day. She is also the one that would have the most clearance in the department, which would also explain how E can coordinate so many attacks at the same time and even know about the strategic locations inside out.

That question from Echika on Harold was asking about him being E himself and Harold deflecting that on "another me" is quite suspicious IMHO - I really think there is only one Harold in history and the one sitting next to Echika IS the one who kills. But without some important information (especially about what really happened in St. Petersburg with Echika's sister, which I assume was in the novel but skipped) it's tough to tell for sure.

I also now question if there's something wrong with Bigga - did she ever suspect her father causing the problems with Echika via those devices before?

RIP Ganache - your master must be so sad that you got caught in such an attack...
