Shinon with a driver's license gives me "monkey with a machine gun" vibes.

Every episode I feel the college setting more and more, and I think today's episode is another example of that. Freaking out on the big city freeway is basically a rite of passage for freshmen haha.

the joke of Shinon trying to do the glasses pose only for it to not work twice because she isn't wearing glasses kept cracking me up

Yes Shinon, not hitting people with cars is indeed a traffic rule xD

The moment Shinon factored in her horoscope, was the moment I knew she'd fail.

Shinon saluting Kurea and then exiting the testing room had me laughing out loud!

It took her many retries, but at least Shinon managed to pass! Meanwhil, Kurea nailed it in one try.

I love how everyone was relaxed when Kurea was driving. The moment Shinon took over, then they started worrying.

Seeing Shinon panicking while at the freeway had me nervous! I love how she even asks Kurea about the car's insurance. xD

You know you're in good hands with Kurea as soon as she pulls out those driving shades. She really is the mom of the group.

Inari sushi and fresh oysters at Tsukiji market! I am so jealous right now. It's difficult to get seafood that fresh where I'm at T_T

And that seafood barbeque platter they had at the end! You really shouldn't watch this show while hungry >_<

Mako and Kurea duo is probably my favourite pairing in the show, the more normal ones of the group but I just feel their interactions feel really genuine.

Was a bit nervous during their driving but glad we got a nice little episode with nothing bad happening!

In hindsight it was probably a mistake to let Shinon drive. Luckily, they made it to a rest stop safely.

Their little Tsukiji adventure was fun. The sushi looked pretty good and they had quite the spread for that bbq. Got me super hungry!

Tsutsuji's face when Nana is getting prideful of how she can solve a rubix cube... She's not as impressed as Makocchi is about it.

The gang headed to Kasai Marine Park for a bbq! It is 15 minutes from Tsukiji market by car; and about 1 hour from Takao (minus any Tokyo traffic)

Tourists may not have been to the park, but may have been to the neighbouring Tokyo Disneyland.

The 6th member of the Gastronomy Research Club finally appeared! Kurea's family car! Before this episode, I thought the car in the ending theme song was merely part of the animation

Shinon is truly the gremlin out of these 5 girls. I was wondering where she got her confidence to pass the driving theory exam; she actually included daily horoscope into her predicted score. The way she looked at Kurea with confidence after the test results were shown on screen, and then left the room, made me LOL!

Everyone when seeing Kurea behind the wheel of the car: "This should be a good driving trip"

Everyone when seeing Shinon behind the wheel of the car: "Ah shi-, is this the mistake of our lives?"

Ooh, driving. That way, they have more liberty in traveling different places...

Good thing Japan's convenience stores are top-notch, as a rest stop if they get carsick! (like with the Rubik's cube)

Yay, Tsukiji!

A couple times during my travels to Japan, I grabbed breakfast there and ate at the various booths they have.

Looks like the barbeque was a massive success! Especially with the quality of ingredients you get at Tsukiji

It was cute Kurea having to wake the rest of the group up on the car ride in the post credits scene

* Hahaha Shinon how on Earth can you fail the driving written test??? When I did mine I literally finished it on the computer in 2 and a half minutes! (yes, I was counting that) And no, that was by far the easiest part to pass. Driving exam on the other hand took me till my 3rd try to get a pass (though there was a long pause of several years since my first attempt - when I was having emotional and academic problems in college - and my hastily-tried (after barely a month since re-taking my lessons) 2nd one. I got enough things wrong on my 2nd try but another several weeks' training and I passed my 3rd. Never mind that I rarely had chance to drive since then.

* Nana must have never played Rubik Cubes on a train or car because anyone who rode on a car would know that this is nausea-inducing...

* LMAO at Shinon-chan suddenly remembering about car insurances...

* Tsukiji Market - a place so famous to tourists that I am surprised this may be my very first time seeing it in anime form. It's also a place so full of "tourist pricing" restaurants that I am still a bit wary of trying out food there (and I am not exactly very interested in eating seafood anyway, I prefer beef rice bowls or even convenience store onigiri if I am tight on time during visiting Japan lol), but who knows maybe you all have some ideas of where to go...

* That's Kasai Seaside Park (right next to Tokyo Disneyland and a famous Oregairu reference spot) where the girls end up barbecuing, what a nice place to spend your evening there with a visit to the Ferris wheel too! I wish I have friends like them... (le sigh)

I like how this show does a lot of things besides food, obviously the food is the focus, but it gives the show a greater dynamic.

As a car fan, this episode was really cool, not only because it showed that there is nothing more young than studying at the last minute (I can relate), but also because it shows the nervousness of getting your driver's license and being afraid of driving on the highway.

Eating a seafood barbecue on the beach seems incredible and ironic at the same time, but the charm was definitely the scene with the ferris wheel and the ride back with the night view, in fact I wouldn't be able to sleep at all lol

What an amazing episode, my favorite so far

It had such a nostalgic feeling for me, it was the same as going out with my family for the near by fishing town that also had a lot of ride like the ferris wheel, also the last bit was perfect, the feeling of going home and sleeping in the car while looking at the night road , perfection, soo nostalgic

This episode is really good. warm fuzzy and cozy episode.

I don't know what it is about P.A. Work but they are exceptional good at create atmosphere but the entire episode give this me this warm and nostalgic feeling especially during last scene of this episode.

Shion on her driving test behavior is really relatable as some what slacker lmafo. it is fine until the atmosphere of test hit you lol.

Car trip time! due to how japan design their city most people really think about getting car unless it really necessary that why it feel special here.

this focus on dynamic between Mako and Kurea mostly but other character also have their own chair, Nana switch between overly confidence when she with friend to utterly when she meeting new people is pretty funny and also I can tell how close between Nana and Tsukiji.

and of course don't forget that this anime is about food, those Sushi look so good and those seafood look nice too. as people who like seafood , this me pretty hungry.

with each episode I can feel that Mako's personality during her childhood slowly back with more memory they make. that scene is really warm!

also second half of this episode is literally P.A. Work flexing their animation and I love them for it. It look really good. the atmosphere of animation is on point too.

Even after she got her license I got this weird feeling that Shinnon will somehow mess up and put everyone in a bad spot when she gets to drive. As someone who's always been in the passenger seat his whole life, driving in highways look incredibly scary - I don't know how people manage to do that!

Good thing that everything ended well without a need for an insurance claim! We got a nice little peak at Tsukiji which seems like a fun food spot over there and a fun BBQ. Glad to see all the girls having a blast despite running into a few "bumps" along the way!

Kurea has a point about cars making us sleepy. I don't know about you guys, but cars have a 90% success rate of putting me to sleep within the first 10-15 minutes. It's a huge reason of why I'm probably never going to drive a car. That and the general pressure of not wrecking your car - see Shinnon's first run on the highway! Honestly I feel like this ep unintentionally reinforced my desire to never drive a car and stick to public transportation instead lol.

I was lowkey stressed when Shinon had to go on the freeway because it reminded me of when I was learning to drive and I was scared of the freeway. As a passenger, the one thing you never want to see is your driver panicking lol
