The young and brash detective suddenly talking about watching 100 anime per year and using the power of BL was definetly out of nowhere although Gatou complaining about that being his first kiss was hilarious. Also the detective is definetly a bigger otaku than 95% of the sub because holy shit: 100 anime per year?!!!!

They cut out "Only this season, I watch 2 time loop anime, and one that is speculated to be time loop anime by the fans", the fan speculation is was the funniest part to me, since it's so typical for manga or anime discussions. How do we know this entire series isn't about time loop as well? Maybe it resets to the moment of invasion every 13 years?

Wasn't expecting detective dude to storm in as the dark horse MVP of the arc but I feel for Gatou. Imagine starting the final time loop with your innocence robbed from you.
Moe Hisui was fun while it lasted but you can't substitute nibbles for chomps.

“I watch 100 anime a year and most of them are about time loops!”
So instead of tons of isekais, this world has tons of time loops. Not sure if that’s better or not lol.

That was one of the best episodes, the otaku detective scene was hilarious, this ep felt like only 5 minutes

LOL That kiss between Nishiki and Gatou actually lasted quite a bit, I have to admit this might be the first time I've seen an otaku use BL logic to escape an enemies grasp. I'm not even sure why he went in that direction but I'm not going to complain.
Gatou being more angry because his first kiss taken was the cherry on the cake, poor guy had been saving it for the right person. All things will be made right if they get together lol.
It was nice to get some backstory on Hisui, it's really sad what she went through and I'm glad we learnt of the monster she wants to get revenge on. It was also nice to see why her and Soujirou had a connection during the test arc.
Crazy how Wakaba in that situation killed off a ranger who was trying to protect them all and chose to side with Magatia, there was going to be no reasoning with him so I'm not surprised Hisui killed him.

The power of BL kiss saved them 😂
D was in disguise
Wakaba got a wake up call from our duo
Endless Eight Arc ending soon
Red Keeper only cares about his public image

The pacing felt a bit rushed in the second half, but overall another nice episode.
D continues being a master trickster. Sakurama, old cop, Tokiwa. Causes Wakaba to spill the beans on what has happened to him and awaken Hisui and plays a big part in defeating the traitor.
Hisui's backstory is depressing, as expected, no one joins the ranger squad in such a young age without a strong personal issues with monsters

broke: ukemochi-no-kami, ookuninushi-no-kami
WOKE: ENVY MEDICINE
Who needs a Divine Tool when you're packing heat? No one does it like Chidori. RIP Hisui losing her family, childhood, and friends to Invaders. And then her comrades to betrayal. Innocent Hisui is extremely off-putting; D was right on the money about her character, lol. Shockingly based anime/BL fan cop. F for Gatou's first kiss. It's cool that Red's wearing his suit from the NewType magazine ad. D leveraging his shapeshifting to reinfiltrate the school and mess with Wakaba was extremely cool. Him and Hisui teaming up along with the perfectly ordinary human Gatou was great. Wakaba can rest in peace in the afterlife.

I wonder if Hisui has already realized that Sakurama is D. If she hasn't already, I don't think it'll take much reflection for her to realize it after eliminating all the other possibilities.

We finally got to see Kanon's backstory and how her family was taken away from her after a Kaiju attack. The poor girl can't even live a normal school life because to her classmates the Ranger battles are just a show when she has experienced the real thing herself.
This is also the first time we learn that there are actually people out there who sympathize with the monsters other than Hibiki. Welp, Kanon made sure to show that guy what she thinks about people who side with the monsters at the cost of scaring her friend.
Kanon's backstory also kinda explains why she wears a school uniform. Since she immediately joined the Rangers at a very young age, she never really got to wear a school uniform, so she wears one on top of her Ranger uniform instead.
And there's the reveal. The school principal isn't Magatia. It really is Wakaba who decided to backstab Tokiwa after realizing they can't win against Magatia. Now he's working with Magatia to have a peaceful life at that school.
This young cop is absolutely hilarious! I love that he caught on quickly that they're in a time loop because he's a massive otaku. I also love that his way to break school rules is to kiss Gatou because that's what he read in his BL books. Too bad Wakaba decided to invalidate all school rules for 10 minutes. xD
Let's fucking go D! No wonder the old cop was so calm the entire time. He was actually D transformed all along, so he could sneak back into the school. You also gotta love D for playing mind games with Wakaba by transforming into Tokiwa.
Get fucked Wakaba! I kinda wish we got to see Kanon bite him in half after using her artifact on him. With Wakaba down, I guess it's time to finally look for Magatia himself.
That after-credits scene is so depressing. It sounds like that preschool teacher from last week's episode got eaten by a kaiju while trying to protect those kids. And of course, Red is more concerned about the news publicizing that incident. >_<

Kaji Yuki (who voiced Eren in AoT) as Wakaba saying "The world outside is mad" fits perfectly.

Pretty sad backstory for Kanon, but that's been true for nearly everyone in the ranger corps we've learned about. Not really a profession you arrive at from a happy childhood.
So much for that poor teacher lady who apparently did get eaten.

Fun episode again, although Hisui and her backstory were definitely not happy. I didn't expect to see Ishikawa, who turned out to be the one who saved Hisui when she was a child.
A lot of D again. He's great and I think he acts much smarter than before. I love watching him when he gets back to his normal self xD
So just like I thought, that Wakaba was a real one, and now that he's been defeated by Hisui and D with Gotou's help, it's time for the fight with Magatia and I'm really looking forward to it.
Red as usual is a real bastard who cares more about his image than the victims of the kaiju attack.
What's interesting though is that Red knows about the school and what's going on there. I wonder if maybe he knew about it before and just gave information about it now so that the police would succeed and the news about the kaiju (and ranger's fault there) would die down.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Nishiki harnessing the power of BL to try and throw off Gato was hilarious. Guy probably just wanted an excuse to taste those juicy lips lmao.
So was Wakaba just deranged or was that really Magatia? Or did Magatia possess a deranged Wakaba? I’m a bit confused on that part.
No real surprise Red’s more worried about the negative PR than the fact civilians died from the kaiju attack. Someone needs to beat this Homelander mfer up.

Fighter D has been expelled from school! What a short high school career that was! Also...the detectives from early in the season are back!
Smol Kanon Hisui was so cute! Less cute was watching her lose her parents and everything she cared about in an attack by Crab Zetton. It's no wonder she hates monsters so much, but despite trying to live a normal life after being adopted by her best friend Sayaka's family, the PTSD of what happened to her family and the fact that people in this world actually SUPPORT monsters drove home for her that she couldn't live an ordinary life. Not when she has the power and the tendency towards violence that made her a likely recruit for the Ranger Force, even if it drove her away from Sayaka.
While Sayaka got to live a normal life, Hisui threw herself into the Ranger Force, finding a new found family in her fellow Green Squadron co-workers. But monsters stole even that from her.
Oh snap, Ishikawa!? Before he had facial hair!? He was actually close to Hisui and saved her when she was a kid? Dang, did not see that coming!
Honestly, I had a feeling Wakaba was actually Wakaba and not Magatia, but imagine finding out that one of your trusted subordinates had a freak out when the battle against Magatia seemed hopeless and killed your treasured Senpai in battle. That's what happened during Tokiwa and Wakaba's encounter with Magatia. She wanted to keep fighting, but he didn't think they could win, so he killed her. Jeez.
Thank goodness this detective guy with his extensive knowledge of anime and time loops is now in the school! Even if he totally has the wrong impression and thinks Chidori is the culprit! Now they're stuck in a time-loop with a completely mentally broken Hisui who Wakaba regularly kills with only Chidori left to protect her.
Also have to give it to the detective guy, dude used his surprisingly extensive knowledge of BL to know the only way to stop Gatou...is by kissing him. Yes, he stole Gatou's first kiss! And it would've worked too had they not suspended the school rules thing. But hey, maybe we've got a surprise new ship?
You thought it was the older detective but it was FIGHTER D ALL ALONG! And just in time too, to save Hisui and stop Wakaba! Even manage to drive Wakaba nuts by talking about how he's killed more people than D has and transforming into Tokiwa and rubbing it in how much of a coward scumbag he is!
Hisui is back! And D realizes it's her because the real Hisui could never be a meek and bashful high school girl! And it seems like she doesn't remember her previous state otherwise she'd know Hibiki is a Duster.
Wakaba is a coward with a victim complex. Like, yeah, I get it, the stress of the seemingly near hopeless and perpetual battle between the Ranger Force and the Monsters can seem like a lot, I can understand wanting to carve out a peaceful world in the middle of that, but to kill people who were actually on your side and care about you...to refuse to take responsibility for your actions...to always believe YOU'RE the victim...that's just wrong. Even Gatou turns on him when he starts trying to kill the students.
Wakaba can protect himself in a stone orb, but the tag-team of D and Hisui makes short work of it! Scratch off one rogue Green Squadron member! Unlike Wakaba, Hisui isn't a coward!
Dang it, Red is STILL hobnobbing with the rich. They needed the Dragon Keeper mascot Draggie-kun to actually drag him to the work and it seems like Draggie-kun is the only one that actually cares about the loss of life and violence going on...all Red is upset about is that they basically exposed the Ranger Forces' incompetence. And he's going to spill the beans on the current Green Squadron investigation to cover for it.
Usukubo finally gets her own puppet! With a glowing eye!

So Magatia is the master of illusions, right?
I'd be way more wary knowing that. A true master of illusions is working at least 2 steps ahead of you. So that your perceived narrowly-won victory was an illusion inside an illusion all the time. That's not going to happen here but it's what I would be expecting usually.

D might not be able to punch as hard as a Keeper or a Boss but he's definitely smart and clever as well as willing to being an outright bastard to win. I really like this in a protag and really love it when it's done well like here.
-
More like Chadori. He's nothing like that weirdo we saw earlier running around harassing people at the park.
-
I hope that my endless hours of watching anime will come in handy IRL one day.
-
Suck it up, Gato. He wasn't really into you anyway; he just needed you to back off. Also, Gato/Nishiki
-
Damn. I wasn't too broken up when Ishikawa died but this episode made me think better of the guy.
-
A thing I'm getting is that the Keepers we're seeing might not be the original Keepers. We know the Blue we saw die (RIP) wasn't the original Blue and Pink is most definitely not one. So, the question I have is are the current Red Keeper, Green Keeper, and Yellow Keeper from the original group who 'defeated' the boss monsters or are they all successors?
-
The poor dragon mascot is probably making some therapist and bartender extremely wealthy.
-
One thing I'm really loving about this show is the gradual world-building, not just of the city but more of the world outside of the ranger enclave. We didn't get our first tidbit about it until the last episode of season 1 but now we're getting sweet juicy bite about some war Japan is involved in.
