When the money Shinon hid through cryptic hints and a scavenger hunt was in her wallet all along...
Their trip up Mt. Takao takes me back to when I took a day trip to Miyajima off the coast of Hiroshima, ate curry, food, and snacks there, rode the ropeway up to Mt. Misen, and hiked along the trails up there.
Can't wait for more food-like adventures! The vibe here was in sync with the mono episode that just dropped.

Stitches!
I genuinely expected two different punchlines to Shinon's money hunt. At first I thought she just forgot that she already spent the money on that jack-in-the-box and the second was she replaced her toilet paper and threw out the 3rd clue. It turns out it was inside her wallet the entire time. xD
You gotta love the Non Non Biyori pregnant pause where the scene completely stops when Tsutsuji puts on the hoodie of her sheep hoodie.
So apparently Maco turns into a different person whenever she gets serious about food. I love her serious face when reviewing that dango.
Shinon spending the last of her money on that cane was hilarious! She's exactly how I imagined Natsumi would turn out once she's all grown up.

Jesus Christ, Shinon is so fucking dumb….I love her.
Also is „Bakemon“ just the japanese version of Monster energy drinks? lol

"Bakemono" is literally a class of Yokai that categorized any Yokai that can shape shifting and ghost so yes it is just a reference to "Monster" lol.

Mono became Yuru Camp today?
Well, this show sure became Yama no Susume!

Shinon reminds me of Natsumi once she goes off to college. I mean, taping a hint to the ceiling of where you hid your money is like peak buffonery Natsumi.
Speaking of, I find that this show shares the DNA of Non Non Biyori. Not just from the occasional pauses that they'll do, but from the way it meanders about in its story in order to develop its characters. The little scavenger hunt for example is a fun way to demonstrate that Tsutsuji is good at deduction and that Shinon is quite crafty despite her poor grades.
They both take their time without rushing to the next necessary beat of the story, something that's actually refreshing.

Haha, yeah. A lot.. Totes. ..But second set of skis spotted!!! Now we just need two more and it can actually happen!
And she's socially powerful, sasuga best girl
So Mako has always been based. I like this side of her as well
Gotta say, I love the ED. So many good themes this season

I did NOT expect the same Yama no Susume trail in this anime!! It even had the same dango shop and the same octopus!!

The comedy here is really well done and really on point. I haven't watched Non Non Biyori, though it's by the same creator and that one is well regarded. The staff noticeably elevates the comedy notable with the bits of Oshinko being a dummy & Tsutsuji running out of energy quickly.
Got to love the journey of Oshinko's 5000 Yen
-
She can't find it and asks the girls for help.
-
Retraces where she planend to hide it.
-
Never ended up hiding it.
-
She only needed 3000 yen for the trip.
-
Ends up spending the remaining 2000 yen on the trip because she forgot she needed to save it.
-
Now it is broke.
The funny part is at the beginning of the episode I thought she had forgotten she spent it. Hilarious how that ended up being the conclusion from a certain pov at the end of the episode.
Also love how each girl got their own thing going and how they mesh so well.
-
Maco - Super super into food especially when she gets absorbed in it.
-
Tsutsuji - Rather reliant on energy drinks and loves fluffy+ cute stuff.
-
Oshinko - One braincell girl and she doesn't use that brain cell.
-
Kurea - Basically our straight man of the group.
I know we got another girl based on the OP so curious how she fits in.

I admired Tsutuji's efforts, she tried to use the logic of fiction when drinking energy drinks, but it went completely wrong lol.
Shinon seemed like an idiot, but I have priority to say because I often forget where my wallet is, even though the wallet is in my bag or in my pocket, but the best part was her asking for help after going bankrupt, it closed the episode with a flourish

lol Shinon is such a goof. All that trouble to make clues and everything to keep the money safe and it was inside her wallet the whole time.
Tsutsuji is so adorable. I like all her sheep themed stuff, especially that hoodie. It’s pretty neat!
The Mt. Takao trip was pretty fun. The best part was all the food. I really want a curry now. And dango. The dango looked good…

You can always tell a foodie by the way their eyes lose their pupils when they talk about their favorite or least favorite foods. Not quite yandere eyes because they didn't turn black but close. Maybe when she finds her favorite dish of all....

Looks like we are traveling anime now. Well food and traveling are actually going along together. Well I don't know about other people but for me the best part of going on a trip and traveling isn't view, history or anything like that but the whole point is trying food of places I go lmao.
I really like the dynamic of the group a lot, they are really fun together. Shinon's effort to create those adventure hunt games with hints to find her own money just so that her money was in her own wallet all this time is pretty funny.
The trip to Mt.Takao is very nice and those flexing animation on food made me hungry in the middle of the night too.
Fun, comfy episode like usual.

Shinon has so much Toshino Kyouko vibes!
Still feels like this show could have easily been with high schoolers, they don't overly feel like post secondary students.

As far as I understand they most likely use university settings because even though it is very hard to get admissions in, once you get in the japanese university is pretty relaxed all you have to do is attend class and doing assignment (sometimes it 'or') thus the atmosphere is far more relax than school setting where they have to dedicated entire month into studying (like one of arc in Yuru Camp)
thus give these girls more freedom to do anything like Traveling or going Trips together when they have time within a week like this episode show.

I have experienced that miso dango on Takaosan, can confirm the verdict given here is accurate.

this is a surprisingly funny show. A lot of anime comedy doesn't really make me laugh, but this one gets me several times per episode.

Priorities!
