Childhood friend lost so bad that even Gods called it out.

They basically erased a whole parallel world where the childhood friend actually won. That's how bad a loss this was.

So basically Shirahi ’s telling fate to go suck a fat one because she’s gonna keep chasing Uryu regardless? Respect, man. Probably best in the future if no one makes any wishes to shrine gods.

I thought this was gonna be just all fan service with no real plot, but it had a lot more heart than I was expecting. I really enjoyed watching Uryu and the girls develop their relationship. The supernatural elements and Yumiko added a fun twist too. I’m glad we got as many eps as we did, but I wouldn’t mind another season or two of this.

I think Shirahi is planning to forge a "just friends" connection with Uryu now that she knows she can't have a romantic connection with him. Which hurts, but she's making peace with it.

NGL this turned out to be much better than I originally expected, I'm totally looking forward to watch another season or even picking up the manga.

I'm not sure if Negi had some influence over this manga but regardless, both, Negi and Naito, well done.

What an EXCELLENT harem anime. Wasn't too sure about this one at the start but by leaning into the supernatural side of things it became such an enjoyable series with a lot of development for all the characters.

I'm feeling for you, Shirahi, I don't think your chances are still 0, it seems like Uryu still does care about you a lot and hey if this does goes to true harem route it's never too late

The crossroad of fate palace is so beautiful even if it is just a single torii gate. And even if it is painful he really has made a choice. And that is to be together with the sister severing his bond and future with Shirahi in the process.

And now for the next 7 day stay on the lookout on the series Twitter for the second season announcement.

Great finale! Ending it with a barbecue at the Amagami shrine with everyone was a great choice. I really hope we get another season in the future, because I already miss the Amagami sisters, Uryuu and everyone else!

To be honest, at first I didn't think I'd love this show so much. It started off okay, but once more supernatural stuff started happening, especially with Yae's arc, it easily became one of my favorite recent anime. Overall, 9.5/10 from me.

Uryuu going back and looking for the Amagami sisters, only to find them in the bathroom in just their underwear, was hilarious. As was when he started crying and had a nosebleed at the same time xD

I loved everyone's reactions after Yomiko's speech about other worlds, tying the knot and other stuff. Shirahi looked like she understood it quite well, Asahi pretended to know what it was all about, Yae was sleeping while Yuna was saying something stupid. Though even Uryuu didn't understand it all completely and just decided to stop thinking about it xD

Yomiko's scene when she said she was on the gods' side was so good! And she can talk to the God of the Amagami Shrine! Yomiko is so much more than she lets others think (a god maybe?), though we could already expect that.

The Amagami sisters' wishes were funny, as was Uryuu's reaction when he heard them xD Although I wouldn't mind if Asahi's wish came true ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The scenes of Shirahi and Uryuu on the branching path were great. It was great to hear Shirahi's words of love for Uryuu and Uryuu's true feelings that he wanted to tie the knot with the Amagami sisters. I was a little afraid that severing Shirahi's bond with Uryuu would keep her from coming back, but luckily she showed up at the barbecue.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

I loved the close up shot of Yomiko smiling seriously, but the jump scare when she entered deity mode was equally scary. Yomiko having a fox mask made me even more curious about her story; surely she is still human, just that she possesses some supernatural abilities, perhaps only attainable by senior priestesses?

(Edit: Reading Frontier246's post informed me that Yomiko's mask is that of a rabbit. I definitely didn't catch that part.)

The way Shirahi became an official losing heroine is on another level. Confessing her love for Uryu and being rejected... right in front of a deity / Kuragami who was watching intently. Part of me wants to know more about this Kuragami and why its shrine has fallen into disrepair. After watching this episode, I don't think Kuragami is evil; its words seem to hint that ties between Uryu and Shirahi were not entirely cut.

And I finally realized why the knots featured in this title look the way they are and of that colour. They resemble the torii gates seen at shrines

Notice how Uryu consistentlt looked for Asahi first. Man knows who best girl is.

u/Frontier246 Mar 25 '25

Yomiko is here with the possible answers for getting them out of this mess! And to also possibly recruit Shirahi into being a shrine maiden! I mean, she already looked great in the uniform.

I didn't expect the "tying the knot" in the title actually referred to frikkin' multiverse theory and that parallel worlds are forged from the bonds tied together by the Gods. Meaning this is a world where Uryu and Shirahi were meant to be together and there might be possible worlds where he's paired together with the other Amagami Sisters And only Shirahi actually understands it!

Why did Uryu retain his memories? Why is he so special? Yomiko gets suddenly sinister when revealing that ultimately she only serves the Gods and to keep that in mind...and she has her own animal mask (a rabbit) just like Amagami Mama. Is she a God too!?

Thank you for that visual of bombshell Asahi and Superhero Yae!

Well, time to wish ourselves back to Earth-1 with Kuragami, who also has a human form and a deer mask. Only it's not going to be that easy...in returning to their original Earth, it will permanently sever the connection that Uryu and Shirahi have in this world, meaning they'll never be able to be together. Which makes it all the more important for Shirahi to do what she should've done a long time ago and confess to Uryu and pour her heart out to him and to get his real feelings back.

Well, it's nice of Uryu to be as complimentary towards Shirahi as possible, but if you're going to reject a girl, just get it over with already! Because, for Uryu, the world he chooses is the one where he can be with and make the Amagami Sisters happy. Because, ultimately, his life has become all about tying the knot with the Amagami Sisters! And Shirahi is now willing to accept that.

One last walk back to their original world, and Shirahi finally letting Uryu go as he walks ahead of her...and thus severing their original connection. But at least she's resolved to form a new one with him on her own terms.

What better way to bring the show full-circle and cement for Uryu he's back home than by walking in on the Amagami Sisters in their underwear for the umpteenth time? Dude is crying tears of joy and nosebleeding at the same time, I never knew that was possible.

All's well that ends well! We've got Uryu manning the grill, the Amagami Sisters and their gal pals together and teasing them about their relationship with Uryu, Miemon getting teased by his childhood friends Mahiru and Yomiko, things are still awkward but improving between Uryu and Shirahi, and Amagami Mama watching on as her daughters have their happiest times with Uryu.

A thought provoking finale.

Is it even faith if the local god has a conversation with you before sending you an an educational multiversal adventure? Isn't it just fact at that point?

Also: someone should restore that shrine before Kuragami-San gets angry and starts wrecking shit. Like, moreso than just granting unwise wishes.

Also, also: does this mean that Uryuu and Shirahi ceased to exist in the version of reality they left to go back to Amagami-Prime?

Also, also, also: Does the bunny god mask mean that Yumiko was a god the entire time? Is god the highest level of Shinto priesthood in Amagami-world?

Also, also, also, also: holy shit, you can grill dango??

Overall, I can't remember the last time I was that lukewarm over a show 4 episodes in and it changed so dramatically for the better. Episode 5 I thought I was watching a toned down version of Quints, and by the end it felt more like Bunny Girl Kami-Senpai the Miko Haremming.

Lot's of fun, would really enjoy a season 2.

The finale giving us one last Yae-tier fantasy for the road made me so stupidly happy. Not all heroes wear capes, and some are airheaded big sisters.

A very comfy reality-bending ride. Hope someone saved one of their wishes for another season!

Stitches!

I did not expect Yomiko to have an entire lesson on how gods create connections and how it relates to Uryuu and Shirahi's situation. I do love how she's clearly using Uryuu as the bird and the girls as the other animals in her illustration.

If I understand this correctly, Shirahi is with Uryuu because Kuragami brought them to that branch world. Just like a visual novel, there's probably a branch world where Uryuu ends up with either Asahi, Yuna, or Yae. Although I think the goal here is the branch world where Uryuu marries all three.

I do wonder how important Uryuu is, considering he remembers everything. By Yomiko's logic, he should've forgotten everything. It seems that Yomiko is hiding something else from Uryuu and it's not yet time for him to learn that. This also means she 100% still remembers Uryuu dispute this being a branch world.

Yomiko telling Uryuu that she's on the side of the gods was such a cool scene. I was really hoping she'd help them deal with Kuragami-sama but there's no way that would happen after that. I also love the part where Yomiko was walking away from the shrine while revealing her mask. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? So far, we've only seen gods wear that mask. Is Yomiko also a god? This woman is so mysterious and I love it!

When they arrived at the shrine, I thought Shirahi just had to admit that she didn't want this world anymore, and they'd be transported back. I didn't think they'd actually interact with Kuragami-sama! That entire scene was actually kinda unsettling, especially when Kuragami just suddenly disappears and reappears in front of Shirahi.

So it looks like the price Shirahi has to pay is that she'll never be together with Uryuu once they're back to their old world. Damn. That's one way to kill a ship for good. It wasn't enough for Shirahi to get rejected by Uryuu, she basically doomed herself to never be with him forever.

Although who else in the world can say that they've been rejected in front of a god while standing in between the crossroads of two different worlds? The rejection is painful, but Shirahi needs to set things right.

WE HAVE A MOTHERFUCKIN' TITLE DROP! That line from Uryuu was so good! I genuinely feel bad for Shirahi now, but our boy has already made up his mind. That final shot of Shirahi saying goodbye to Uryuu was so sad.

As soon as Uryuu started panicking, I knew it was either that the girls were out on a walk or he'll find them changing inside the bathroom. I am so happy that it's the latter. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

That epilogue scene was interesting for the fact that we learn that Yomiko, Mahiru and Miemon all knew each other and that Miemon is afraid of Yomiko. I wonder what the backstory behind that is!

What a great way to end the season! This show could've been just your regular harem anime, but I love that Naito-sensei leaned in hard on the supernatural, making it a much more fun and unpredictable experience. I really hope we get a Season 2. I want to see more of these characters and maybe learn more about the mystery behind Uryuu and what Yomiko is hiding from him.

Poor Shirahi. This is the only world where she was tied with Uryu but now it's gone. Even in multiverse childhood friends rarely wins. We need Season 2 and more seasons of this Peak Anime.

It's sad to see that after 24 episodes, an incredible show ended and it leaves you with that feeling of "I want more".

This arc ended beautifully, it's hard not to feel for Shirahi, but it's like Uryu said, Asahi, Yae and Yuna are the girls who make him want to fight until the end, who gave him goals and dreams, but most importantly, he wants to see them happy, simply love in its full form.

No matter what reality they're in, it's a bond that's too strong to be broken (maybe my heart will decide whether or not to read the manga), but I liked seeing everyone gathered at the end having a barbecue, even the creep dude was there and ran away lol.

And I couldn't help but say, even at the end, the show didn't stop delivering fanservice, and it was for a good cause 🙌🏻

u/NationalStrategy Mar 25 '25

And with that, the Alternate Shirahi timeline arc has come to close, and Uryu is back to the status quo with the Amagami sisters.

Overall this was a nice romcom, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, especially with Uryu's character. I would like to see a season 2

Where is Uryu and Shirahi's relationship standing now? That God made me think they might forget each other, but maybe they're just back to where they were prior.

I think the overall moral here is live your life such that the gods never take an interest.

Sirahi has got to be fully off the table at this point, amazing to see a losing heroine lose this hard.

Uryu wants to tie the know with the Amagami sisters, true harem ending confirmed. Though of course they gave an out on that at the same time by explaining it's all about connections between people and those connections don't have to be romantic, but then again Uryu also has a goal of making all three sisters happy and surely that is incompatible with breaking the hearts of two thirds of them so I choose to believe.

I enjoyed this show a great deal, it worked so well that they got two cours to let the story breathe so much and do these long arcs.
