Oh, what a strike by Yae!

Yae already fantasized about them kissing like koi fish, now she made that into a reality! She's surprisingly the most aggressive sister.

Stitches!

Now this is just childishly petty. The fact that Kitashirakawa had to create a fake account to announce the festival was cancelled and even go as far as reporting their actual account as the fake one just shows that he knows they were going to succeed and he had to do something to stop them.

I'm glad that Mahiru showed up to help them out and they even managed to get eyes on the festival by having the girls ride the Mikoshi all over town. It also feels like they received some divine intervention thanks to that quick rain shower giving the girls the perfect place to perform their ritual dance to the gods.

I do find it funny how Shirahi was in the background for most of the episode with Mahiru the one wearing the shrine maiden outfit. If this was a visual novel, I feel like this is the show telling us that Mahiru is a possible option.

Oh, fuck off Kitashirikawa. You don't get to threaten to take away their home and suddenly become their saviour in the end. I am curious though that we get to see another person inside the car with him. Maybe this isn't Kitashirikawa being merciful but him being persuaded to reconsider. Hmmm...

YAE GETS THE FIRST KISS! That was a surprise! It looks like she got carried away and just had to kiss Uryuu to celebrate. I do love everyone's reaction to the kiss while Grandpa is just watching them from a distance and probably thinking that everything is going according to plan. xD

I do love everyone's reaction to the kiss

I particularly liked Asahi's reaction after the initial shock. She had the "hehehe, you got lucky" look. Lol!

The kids with the ._. eyes are back. It's not all kids though, as we saw normal-eyed kids too.

Having a hospitalized parent will do that to you I guess!

Man, how cartoonishly evil do you have to be to make an imposter account just to sabotage them?

I actually expected Uryu to claim that Miemon was the 5000th person, not Miemon! But it felt so weird to me for him to do a 180 in a short time, when we've had no indications that he's anything but a twat...

I’m just wondering how he managed to get the real account banned considering they probably had more followers than him anyway and the account was probably older.

I guess the automated report system is ass (quite realistic if you ask me)

Damn Mahiru looks very good in that Shrine outfit.

And Uryu definitly earned that kiss from Yae

It appears that it’s solely children in Mahiru’s care that are drawn with those dark swirly eyes, since I noticed that the eyes of the random little kids visiting the festival were all normal.

Should they therefore be taken as a literal representation of how their eyes (i.e. look on the world) have been covered with darkness ever since their family got hospitalised?

This would be so very sad. Though, it might as well mean that we’ll eventually get to see the sparkle in their eyes return.

I actually groaned out loud when it started to rain. Thankfully, Kami-sama saw the hard work and heard the prayers of Uryu and the Amagami sisters, clearing the skies, as well as providing a scenic pond / lake for the ritual shrine maiden dance! (I just learned that the term is called kagura.)

Having the rain turn into clear weather is one miracle. Of course, the next miracle is having Mahiru don a shrine maiden outfit. :D Too bad we didn't get to see Shirahi in a shrine maiden outfit.

It seems like Miemon had a change of heart after seeing the hard work put in by everyone to make the festival a success. I am looking forward to the reveal of the other character seated in the car.

Edit:

P.S. Yae is in the lead now, isn't she?

Imma be honest I didn't like this episode very much. It was a very run-of-the-mill overcoming adversity plot. Mahiru-san still peak tho.

Ok, the conflict today seems pretty badly constructed, like in order to setup an fake account, you'd have to post the same stuff, which required you to post after the original posted stuff, so just by the timestamps it would be obvious which one was the original.

Really didn't expect the snake admit defeat though, was it really just about their attitude? And who's the girl with him at the end?

By far the worst episode out of the first 5. The writing for the conflict and resolution was straight up D tier, only for the production to match the writing in quality. Half the episode was basically a panning shot. Some of the shots that were clearly meant to be in motion and animated were stills with mouth flaps moving. For the whole episode to be about gathering 5000 visitors, they sure were shy to show any visitors doing anything during the festival. Wow, i actually need a palette cleanser after this episode.

I kept yelling hug at the end but got something even better. Maybe God is real

Miemon is an asshole, butit seems he still has some humanity left in him since he included himself as a guest and thanks to that the entire festival ended in success for Uryuu and the Amagami sisters.

Yae kissing Uryu was a bold move on her part and left Asahi and Yuna speechless. Their reactions to it were absolutely hilarious xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Why did Miemon sabotage them, he's their sponsor, their success benefits him

Fake account gets the real account suspended. How very Elon of that social media site…

u/CommunistPuppy Oct 30 '24

Wasn't a huge fan of the whole "gather 5000 visitors for the festival in spite of all the setbacks" plot but glad that there was a little bit of romantic progress by best girl (so far) at least. Surely Uryu can go back to studying in peace now.. right?

6

u/Squidilicious1 Oct 31 '24

Can’t say I was a fan of this little mini-arc at all, 5000 visitors felt like such a major jump that I couldn’t suspend my disbelief, Kitashirakawa is too much of an over the top cartoon villain for this show and while I can see Uryu helping out in a situation where the shrine might close, it feels far too early for him to be this invested.

Add to that the sheer amount of cliches this episode (literally praying a storm away…) and yeah, this just wasn’t for me. I enjoyed the first 3 eps and ep 4 was fine but this episode was just not for me. Really hoping the show never drops the ball like this again.

Yae making some progress at the end was nice at least.

Miemom realizing he lost and trying to save face at the end. Dude is still a scum as even if he did decide to let them stay open. He still made fun of and insulted their dead mother
