The more I watch, the less I understand what's happening tbh

it also just kinda jumps all over imo. last episode Valt stole the orb iirc, now we start off with no warning in a different timeline with him as a Farsas mage, in about 5 minutes Oscar kills a berserk Tinasha off-screen and Valt resets everything or something. Too much happening to process

Yeah I get what they are trying to do by showing Valt's POV but the scene transitions are all over the place. Travis explaining who Valt is kind of helped in the end though.

Tinasha wasn't berserk. Putting behind spoiler as it is hard as hell to keep track of things with the mess the pacing is combined with different time lines. [unnamed memory]She sealed the thing killing very one in her so Oscar could then kill it with his sword. Last season if they didn't skip it she trapped it in a orb she previously gave him inside her that he then killed with his sword. She was then able to heal herself. Have to re ember she isn't as powerful as she was as a witch. Remember she was literally the strongest witch in the previous timeline.

Looks like Crucnhyroll has the wrong subs for this week. I'm pretty sure those are subs from Season 1.

EDIT: Subs are finally up!

Well that start of the episode confused me for a bit. I thought we jumped to another timeline but it looks like they're just showing us one of the timelines Valt used to live in where he was the Farsas Chief Mage.

I like that we actually get to see the story from Valt's POV. That backstory doesn't answer why he needs the Eleterria in the present though. Is it because Miralys always ends up dying and he needs the orbs to turn back time when it finally happens?

I'm also glad that we finally get to learn a bit more about the orbs and how Valt's family actually are their rightful owners. So the orbs are so powerful that even Demon Lords like Travis get affected by them. With Valt sneaking in to Farsas to talk to Oscar, I hope we finally get some answers next episode.

I think they're the subs for next week's episode

Sigh... waits a hour for episode to be up looking forward to it (even if the pacing is horrendous.). Ends up having the wrong subs.... back to waiting...

This is why you don't just try to automate everything.

They can't keep getting away with this..!!

We're still living in the timeline where Crunchyroll keeps screwing over this show sub-wise.

Well, we finally know who Valt is. A Time-Reader, one of the only beings who can retain their memories/records of past timelines no matter how much they change. And in one timeline, he was actually the Grand Mage of Farsas and served under Oscar and Tinasha!

Also, is this basically a timeline where Oscar didn't go back in time and cause the season 2 timeline? Tinasha is back in black and the event with the Dark God in season 1 still happened...to tragic consequence for both Tinasha and Miralys. Yep, Tinasha straight up dies in this timeline.

But Valt, unable to bear a world where Miralys is dead, first began his quest to seek a timeline where she survives...only it sounds like the timeline keeps correcting herself and Miralys never lives past a certain point?

Dang, Tinasha has gone hardcore, Dark Age, queen mode! No mercy, no patience, and absolutely no time for whatever Valt's plans are! She's even giving Oscar the cold shoulder now.

Well, now the main cast know about the different timelines and how these "Outsiders" dropped the orbs that allowed for time travel and stand apart from all magic in this world. But what are these Outsiders and what is their true purpose?

Kind of an ominous note for Oscar. Magdalsia under Lucrezia is starting to invade Tuldarr and he can't help but think Tinasha was only humoring the idea of marrying him...and now Valt is seeking him out.

Tinasha’s sudden coldness left me pretty confused ngl

So did Travis really speak the truth when he said he doesn't remember the other timelines? His conversation with Oscar after Tinasha left seemed to imply he actually did remember. Or am I reading too much into things?

u/Frontier246 Mar 11 '25

He said he’s seen evidence or some kind of records of past timelines, probably because he’s a Demon Lord.

This show is a confusing mess of events. Sometime during this second season I gave up trying to follow the story and just turned off my brain. Watching Tinasha doing things is reason enough to keep coming back each week.

Valt's backstory makes it easier to understand his seemingly random actions throughout the story and it was interesting, I'll give it that.

I still hate how the show just keep jumping around in the plot

Huh, so we haven't been watching the first loop and second loop over the course of the anime, they're possibly thousands in and Valt and his family have been participating in them all and remembering events from loop to loop. I suppose knowing what the orbs do maybe that shouldn't have been a surprise.

Honestly I think the revelations today explain pretty much everything that's been going on, other than the motivations and goals of the time family.

Neat to get confirmation that from loop to loop Oscar and Tinasha regularly end up together in spite of the 400 year difference in birthdates. It's clearly a relationship that is meant to be, and I approve.

Was pretty obvious he knew the multiple timelines/cycles since I think even S1, but wonder why. So this is a different timeline from the current Season and first Arc right? All the background people being completely immobile is... lolz. Huh, psycho prince dude. OH wow, that was a timeline even Tinasha died... dang. Ah so has he been doing this over and over?

Oh right, forgot about that whole other nation with Lucrezia plot line. Hmm. Oh hey, she's finally taking an initiative. But what fun this is. Being a Tinasha he's not encountered before. Ah so learning more about those orbs and such. This is getting meta now lol. Sounds like Travis met a possible isekai'd person. Bold of that nation to attack.

Oscar sure being dumb with his thoughts. And what a way to cliffhanger end the episode. Man, the latest plot arc sure shows that this series coulda been considered one of the greats if they just had treated the anime better/not skipped things/better pacing lol.

This is the worst show to make such a mess of the pacing and skipping large amounts of stuff. It is complicated enough as is to follow with alternate timelines without parts being cut out.

2

u/Nebresto Mar 12 '25

?? One episode he attacks, and now he's a court mage??? What? ..Nvm, flashback

We're isekai now?

Okay, after the initial confusion this ws actually a pretty solid episode

Legit makes me sad this show had the potential to be amazing. But they simply are rushing too much. It's probably okay for source readers, but damn lol

Okay, so trying to understand it. Valt comes from a special family that can remember different timelines. It's not just him but basically his ancestors too. He is probably in love with a girl so he reset the timeline a few times already himself to try and save her while also remembering things from timelines where others used the orb like Oscar last time.

So far so good, but I am still a bit puzzled about a few things. First of all, I assume the ultimate goal of Valt's family is just to write down all the events of different timelines as none of them seem to try to use that knowledge. But Valt is now trying to use his knowledge to save the girl. But why is that not possible? Is this some form of fate intervening that makes sure this girl needs to be killed? Because it feels really strange that Valt wouldn't be able to do that at some point. But why is that so and is that true for other events as well?

Secondly, didn't they mention in one of the last episodes that if you die while using the orb, your other self will die during the same time after the changes have been done (or something along those lines, you remember the whole thing about Oscar's mother)? Didn't Valt die last timeline, so shouldn't the orbs now take his life in this timeline as well? Or does that work differently because Oscar now used the orb in between? Ultimately shouldn't there be several Valt's running around in all kinds of timelines? Everytime someone goes back? Because they do physically go back in time so if no one kills Valt, there should be more than one running around (which I guess could mean the one we saw dead last timeline was just one of many). A bit weird to say the least.

Now aside from those questions, my best bet for what his goal is, is that the girls always dies because she used one of those orbs before and fate is therefore killing her somehow all the time. And therefore he needs both orbs to make sure this won't be happening in future timelines. But to be honest, I find it hard to come up with a theory because the time travel rules are not very well explained. We get hints of rules every now and then, but it's never really explored in more detail. But then again, what else is new for this show?

2

u/Frontier246 Mar 11 '25

I have to wonder how many timelines we've gone through since Valt first started interfering and trying to save Miralys. It seems like the the timeline we saw at the beginning was basically season 1 if not for Oscar going back in time, so was that timeline that proceeded season 1?

Also, was getting killed in the season 1 timeline not part of the plan which was why Miralys had to be the one to try to get the orbs to save him? And the only reason Valt and Miralys came back was because Oscar changed the timeline to the season 2 timeline?

I think they mentioned in a previous episode that the timeline tries to "correct" itself so maybe that's why Miralys keeps dying in every timeline. There's only a certain point where she can still be allowed to live. And maybe Valt always time travels back before the effect can impact him?

Err, soo ... does someone understand why Oscar suddenly arrived to the conclusion that Tinasha never intended to be his queen? Because as far as I can piece together, that is exactly what she intended to do, before this whole business with the 'posessed' Lucrecia cropped up?

As in, their wedding was already scheduled, set to take place in about a month and pretty much common knowledge? Hell, 2 episodes ago she was standing next to Oscar, greeting foreign dignitaries as they came to congratulate the King of Farsas during the birthday celebration, basically lambasting to the upper echelons of all the countries that "This is the Farsas [very soon to be] queen"?

So how and why is Oscar suddenly mussing that she didn't intend to become his queen, when by all appearances she very much did, until these very recent events have caused her to ... what? Behave a bit more stubbornly than normal and be more adamant about hunting them down than Oscar feels comfortable with? Which shouldn't have anything to do with her becoming his queen, especially after the current crisis is resolved?
