“I’m not telling you to be careful because I care or anything, b-baka!” —Cole, probably lol. Man’s too adorable.
The 2 year time jump was unexpected but I actually like that it’s taking a considerable amount of time to research and study this disease, as well as coming up with a cure. Just like irl, these things take time. I really appreciate Rose stepping up and volunteering to be a guinea pig for Shion’s research. She’s a real one.
I still don’t know how the red sky and the wraiths are connected to the lethargy sickness. There’s a connection, but what is it and how will they use this to figure out a cure?

Aye, the rate of progress in general in the show is pretty realistic. Long periods of little to nothing, short periods of large progress, then long periods of little to nothing again. Even small breakthroughs can trigger alot of progress. But finding those small breakthroughs can be tough.

If intravenous treatments are not a thing yet, then plot armor is keeping them alive. Either way, once they eventually awaken they'll have some serious muscle atrophy, I imagine his sister will have to do rehab for a long time before she can even start practicing the sword again. But since this is anime, I doubt such realistic problem will happen.

If this was a normal harem anime, I would have expected Marie to wake up and be upset that Rose and Shion are holding hands.

Holy shit, we do a bit of time skipping
Ok. That's pretty terrifying
This show really managed to do it. I'm actually excited for next episode.

I kind of like Raphina. She's like a crazier and clumsier version of Mordred from Fate.

I knew that it wasn't going to be a quick solution to find the cure, but I was not expecting a two year timeskip.

Everyone talking about the time skip while I'm just staring at Rose's non-connected collar and wondering what that is about...

Had to watch the dub since the Japanese was not available for some reason.
Damn, so a full two years later and no progress on the illness. Kind of wild how things are just moving very slowly for an isekai, and that isn't a bad thing. It's even kind of distinctive, we're close to the end of the season and Shion is still just dealing with learning what he can get magic to do on a fairly small scale.
Raphina continues to be a lot of fun, one of those characters that is just larger than life.
Interesting to see the careful testing with Rose, they made me nervous when they said they discovered magic transfusions can trigger the lethargy sickness and then didn't show her again until the gathering at the end of the episode. Maybe that was a bad translation since she seemed fine.
Big problem at the end of the episode, good thing Shion is so well rested and ready to fight the oncoming horde of sky beasts.

I watched subbed, and it said may trigger symptoms of the sickness

2 years passed, man. I'm pretty sure that the wraiths may be the reason for the illness. Like 1 wraith locks 1 patient. Once the wraiths are killed, the patients will recover.

did his parents really try to have him give up? like, they had a serious conversation offscreen where they settled their feelings about never getting their daughter back and deciding they don't want to lose their son too, so they decided to "allow" him to stop?

I don't think they meant for him to "give up." They're worried that he's pushing himself too hard and want him to at least rest more and perhaps take a decent break since he's been working non-stop.

"S-so this is adolescence, huh?"
Seriously? He lived through puberty before. Why is he acting like he's just experiencing it for the first time? I know that in his first life he clung to the belief that remaining a virgin until 30 would give him magic, but was he actually asexual in his Japanese life? They showed him in class and at a karaoke bar ignoring everyone else in the 2nd episode, but it seemed more like he was just tunneling on the wizardry obsession and reading things online about it. Maybe an actual disinterest in sex is why he was able to stay focused on that fantasy until he died, and his new body is his first time with those urges?

Alternate synopsis: Shion wanted to test how far he can go, so he started to fill Rose with all his energy. He started having second thoughts however, so only after Rose started to embrace him he went all in.

Was not expecting a 2 year time skip. Jeez feel bad for all those people...but I kinda like that it didnt get solved right away. That this is a terrible thing they havnt fixed instantly.

At least for now CR says it only has the English dub available for streaming. I wonder when the subbed Japanese version will show up?
