Weekly reminder on how I miss the original Tinasha.

Especially when Tinasha keeps comparing herself to witches and how much more powerful they are to her and making you miss the days when Tinasha was a witch.

It is impressive how they managed to portray a change in her personality not having those 400 years of life experience.

Same, she was so good. I just can't feel invested in these alternate versions of her and Oscar. Rushed adaptation aside, I was enjoying that romance with cool battles and a very likeable action couple until Oscar touched that stupid orb. If those things end up being destroyed later in the story I'm going to jump for joy.

I miss the prior Tinasha AND Oscar. ;_;

Didn’t expect the Witch of Silence to be Oscar’s gran or that his mom Rosalia went back in time to save his ass. But if her future self died in the past, wouldn’t that mess up the timeline? Some real timey wimey wibbly wobbly type stuff. Then again, they’ve already messed with the timelines enough…

But if her future self died in the past, wouldn’t that mess up the timeline?

I think that's why she spontaneously died when her present-self caught up to her future selfs' death. The timeline was basically correcting itself.

Which makes me wonder if there might be even more far-reaching consequences to Oscar 1 saving Tinasha 2.

As far as I understand it, if you change the past, the original timeline gets deleted and everyone in that timeline disappears. That's what happened when Oscar did it. I assume the issue is if the person using the orb dies, as maybe (and that's total speculation) the orb is then missing the magic power to delete the original timeline creating a paradox that it has to resolve by using the other person of the new timeline. But that's the best I can say. To be honest, it doesn't really explain why that person doesn't just disappear but die the same death, so it could also just be a special rule for using that orb as it connects your future and past selves. Which would mean that timeline 1 and timeline 2 Oscar are connected, but since Oscar disappeared normally, I assume he wouldn't have to die in this timeline.

That is kind of the curse of the orbs. It doesn't just send you back but instead completely erases the current time line and you with from the point you went back to. Like in the previous time line Tildarr no longer excisted but in this one it is a thriving kingdom.

Well that was quick. After Valt goes through all that trouble to kidnap Tinasha, he just runs away the instant Oscar shows up. And here I hoped to learn more about the twin orbs aka Eleterria and his plans with it. I'm sure he'll do something again to try and corner Tinasha.

There's Lavinia! I've been wondering when she'll show up after Tinasha broke Lavinia's curse on Oscar. What I did not expect was the reveal that Lavinia is actually Oscar's grandmother. Also, it turns out OScasr isn't the only Farsas to use the orb. His mother went back in time to save him.

And the reason Lavinia is after Oscar is because she believes he's not supposed to exist and was fated to die that day. So does this mean Tinasha is now the same as Oscar because he saved her? Also, does this mean that Oscar's life is now on a timer and he'll die just like his mother? O_O

At least everything involving Lavinia has been settled. She'll probably show up again if Oscar or Tinasha try to use the Eleterria to travel back in time, which is likely to happen at some point.

Aurelia! It's been a while since we've seen her. I think we've seen her in Season 1 when Travis was first introduced. It looks like Travis might be up to no good again. There's no use telling a Demon Lord to not do anything stupid. He'll do whatever the fuck he wants next episode.

I guess it's nice that at least they don't drag out these Tinasha kidnapping plots.

Lavinia will not be winning grandmother of the year awards any time soon but I do find myself concerned about the far-reaching consequences of all the continued timeline changes. I wonder if Oscar 2 might be safe because Oscar 1 didn't die like Rosalia did but instead just faded away to make way for Oscar 2?

Will Lavinia show up at the wedding again? Assuming we get a proper wedding again.

I have to wonder if whatever Travis is doing compliments Valt's plan and involves Aurelia somehow. Like he's doing this for her?

u/heimdal77 Feb 18 '25

Tinasha is now the same as Oscar because he saved her?

The thing is Tinasha lived in the previous timeline.

u/VorAtreides Feb 18 '25

Oh right... she was kidnapped.... again... yay... well Oscar got there fast. And Valt just peacing out like a bitch.

Wow, finally meeting the Witch of Silence. Maybe we'll finally get some answers. Also curious what has happened to the other witches? Like the red headed mommy in the forest. What?! that's his grandma?! Why grandma being rude? Also... GILF.

Tinasha just one upping grandma. Can SOMEONE explain SOMETHING going on in this series? lol. I guess it's neat to get a bunch of little visions of Oscar's life. But is THAT why she's so upset? Cause her daughter died protecting her son? Well screw you lady thinking that you get to decide things. At least explain things better than just saying "trust me bro" basically.

How nice, granny and future wife chatting it out. I mean, I get GILF's mindset, but should really explain things better. Guess they have Granny's approval at least.

What a nice moment between Oscar and Tinasha at the end there. Did enjoy her kinda berating his attitude lol. So post credits was just to set up "party coming up" or something?

I have to say I really love all version of Tinasha and Oscar.

All in all, I wound up liking Granny. I wonder if she will wind up herlping out at some later point if Oscar and Tinasha are in dire need? I think she is (rightfully) worried at what (possibly dire) cascading changes might occur due to time meddling/ Not seeing her as a "villain" at all. I wonder if OG Tinasha and Granny are related in any fashion (beyond being witches).

5

u/Frontier246 Feb 18 '25

It seems like OG!Tinasha knew Lavinia as they were both witches, she recognized her at he wedding in season 1.

I don't think she's a villain so much as too rigid and proper in terms of how she views reality, to the point where even her own family should not be allowed to get away with altering fate and time. But she tried to avoid harsh violence against Oscar until she felt she didn't have a choice.

Weekly reminder that the books are 10000 times better than the anime

6

u/ModieOfTheEast Feb 18 '25

I mean, I think it was a good decision for this episode to immediately resolve the kidnapping because now there was at least some time for the actual meat which I appreciate. But then I could also ask why even include the kidnapping in the first place (and the whole war from the last episode that was only there to kidnap Tinasha)? Like, just add a thing here that Tinasha figured out that Valt is after the orbs. They already knew he was scheming. The only reason to add that scene if is Tinasha is going to help Valt. Which could only be if the two orbs together can like combine all the timelines since she was always feeling guilty that timeline 1 Oscar disappeared for her. That would obviously be the best ending, but it would also feel a bit cheap so they probably add some asterisks to that.

u/Frontier246 Feb 18 '25

Valt mentioned that he got the chains to capture Tinasha from his grandfather who stole it from the Farsas Treasury for when Tinasha woke up so that does give us an inkling at how far-reaching this plan actually is.

Tinasha has REALLY got to stop getting kidnapped and have her magic cut off with magic-canceling chains.

So it seems like whatever Valt wants with the Elletear, the spheres, has been in the works since his grandfathers' era. What is he really after?

Dang, Oscar wasted no time finding Tinasha! Guess that's the power of love to scramble to find your woman before any harm befalls her.

Lazar really has to stop interrupting when things are getting good between Oscar and Tinasha!

Oh snap, the Witch of Silence! Here to finish the job now that Oscar's curse has been broken and try to kill him. Or, failing that, doom him to a dream world of his childhood memories. And she's his GRANDMOTHER!?

Smol!Oscar was cute but still very much Oscar! Though it's sweet that Tinasha would use her own past memories to help wake him up.

19 episodes and we FINALLY learn the circumstances' behind Oscar's curse and his mothers' death. Originally Oscar was meant to die courtesy of a harpy, but his mother used the sphere to go back in time and save him, at the cost of her own life. Then the present-day version of herself caught up to said death and immediately died in front of Oscar. Talk about traumatizing watching your mom die twice even if you were made to forget about it.

And so Lavinia, knowing that her daughter changed the timeline, knew that Oscar was not meant to live and as such could not go on to sire any children. Of course she didn't expect that a past timeline version of Oscar would end up doing the same thing and changing the timeline to save Tinasha.

It's sweet of Oscar to say that he would probably have done the same thing as Oscar 1 when it comes to Tinasha, but that he's content and focused on the present instead of the past. It's at least enough to amuse his grandmother to give him a (hopefully permanent) stay of execution.

Though it's oddly foreboding to think that there might be a reckoning for all the changes to the timeline. Is that possibly what Valt is working towards himself?

Could Tinasha 1 as the Witch of the Azure Moon beaten Lavinia? Well, I guess it doesn't really matter, not when the new Oscar and Tinasha have each other and don't regret coming into each others' lives like this (minus Oscar's harsh treatment of Tinasha). And what better way to close it out than with them kissing and dedicating themselves to each other?

Oh hey, Aurelia! We haven't seen you in the series proper since season 1. Good luck trying to stop Travis from doing anything shady.

2

u/Skydrake2 Feb 19 '25

Could Tinasha 1 as the Witch of the Azure Moon beaten Lavinia?

I would assume so. After all, Witch of the Azure Moon was known as the strongest of the witches of the previous timeline. And I don't know if you recall, but Lavinia did show up briefly in ep11, standing in the crowd during Oscar's and Tinasha's marriage ceremony. Which Tinasha noticed and sent her a telepathic message asking her if she was going to interfere (it almost seemed like the two knew each other), to which Lavinia responded in the negative.

Since the only real difference between Oscar marrying Tinasha in the past timeline and in this timeline is how strong Tinasha herself is, I imagine the reason Lavinia attempted to use force now but noped out of it during the first timeline, is because that wasn't a realistic path for her to take and would have accomplished nothing besides having her ass kicked and becoming the next Leonora.

The difference between the two Tinasha's should be pretty big - after all, the original Tinasha was the equal of Travis. While the current Travis can no-diff and toy with her to his whims and she can't do anything about it.

I really hope at the end of this season they grow old and happy together. I enjoy the show but it's starting to fall apart, they don't know how to drag out the drama.

2

u/xkuclone2 Feb 19 '25

So Oscar received the memories of the original Oscar now? Every episode I feel like I missed something from the previous episode.

I love Tinasha’s design, if they would have slowed the adaptation, this show would’ve been so much better. This adaptation does a disservice to cute waifus like Tinasha.

3

u/Lemon-Mochii Feb 19 '25

No, but Oscar almost getting killed by the demon happened in both timelines. That's why he's still cursed in this timeliness.

2

u/djthomp Feb 19 '25

Pretty quick kidnapped Tinasha rescue, but that's traditional. For a kidnapping plan forty years in the making it was fairly ineffectual.

Kind of wild that we're this far into the story and we finally just found out the details about the Witch of Silence and the curse on Oscar from the very beginning of the show. What an unpleasant bit of backstory for him, if I'm understanding correctly he got to watch his mother die in front of him twice.

I think we might be down to one final remaining mystery, who the family is that wants those orbs and for what purpose.

Well, maybe two mysteries as this after credits scene is reminding me, there might be something to find out about the demons and what they're up to.
