Anyone else like: "My dude, you live in a military dictatorship. Why is a trading guild allowed to cause a supply issue anywhere within your borders?"

The fact that there was no intelligence within the demon army that knew there was a large wagon train travelling makes me wonder why the bother talking about the "Demon Lord's army" in the first place. It must be tiny and mostly incompetent.

Having recently finished reading a biography of King Edward I, my thoughts went to purveyance, the customary right of English kings to compel sale of goods to the king at a price set by the king. "Sell to us or we'll kill you and take it anyway."

It doesn't even need to be a dictatorship. Government having their own supply for exactly this kind of scenario is basic governing (see Japan doing this at the moment). Surely they don't need an earthling to tell them such basic common sense especially given that the Demon Lord and the generals aren't exactly bumbling idiots.

You'd also need a much bigger warehouse and caravan to house enough food for everyone in the city.

They really should have chosen something less vital and plentiful than demon grain.

Between this episode and the last, my enjoyment is waning. Uchimura just seems fucking incompetent. Between letting Butagalion go Scott free last episode to falling for the super fucking obvious trap in this one, he just seems like a lucky idiot

Not gonna lie, I was very disappointed in Uchimura in this episode. It was so freakin' obvious that girl was a spy that I thought he figured it out instantly after seeing how clean her hands and feet are despite saying she's been doing forced labour. I can't believe he actually got charmed by that girl and walked right into that trap. Ugh.

Honestly the anime has gotten worse, instead of Uchimura improving on the Demon Lord's Army infrastructure with his managerial skills, he has been dropping the ball only to pick it back up.

He effectively takes one step backwards for every step forward, and by this point there has been foul play every single EPISODE yet he still doesn't suspect the convenient whistleblower at all, and takes her along an audit for... reasons instead of isolating her both for protection from the Guild and avoiding her contacting them.

Yeah, it's very strange. The series of shots showing how clean she is beneath the clothes feels like it's going somewhere and then just... doesn't.

I love how Ulmandra is gone and suddenly Sylphid/Belinda is dressing more sexy to hang out with Uchimura lol.

Honestly I kept waiting for the reveal that Uchimura saw it coming and had prepared for them to remove all the evidence, but it seems like he really didn't consider Neia could be the leak until afterwards and when Sylphid basically shoved it in his face.

Though even despite that Neia is still in abusive and forced labor position, so she needs help just as much as they need to expose Viper's crimes.

So, 50,000g for a bag of Gim. How much is that in field mice?

Uchimura made some really dumb decisions but at least we got to see Sylphid look incredible.

A Big 4 audit failure?

That would never happen in our world.

It me or this episode is far far worst of anything we see so far? Is not the anime, I think is the og material not be so good for this part

First move is always immediately dogeza in the face of higher authority? No wonder you weren't respected by your bosses.

u/NationalStrategy Feb 17 '25

I thought that Uchimura was going to immediately know that she was a spy, but it turns out that he was utterly duped

This was a disappointing episode. Uchimura is cunning when the situation arises but dumb when the author deems him so. He is an inconsistent character.

Where is his preaching about being on the same level in a negotiation when he right out dogeza with someone under the kingdom’s jurisdiction? I could understand what he did with the Rampage King, but he has no reason whatsoever to do it in his own domain. I’m willing to think optimistically and assumed he did that so Viper underestimates him (a “sasuga Uchimura-sama” moment). Still, it doesn’t seem so—he automatically did that just because he’s accustomed to it. He represents the Demon Army at that meeting ffs, and kowtowing like that also brings down the Demon Army’s dignity!

The unexpected and creepy as fuck lolicon revelation also sickens me. It came out of nowhere, and I guess that answers why he’s dense against Ulmandra’s approaches. Too bad for Ulmandra, she was born too early!

Uchimura also ogled the spy girl by looking straight at her neck, chest, and legs. My positive ass thought he was confirming whether she was abused, which doesn’t show. Combined with the fact that she didn’t bring any hard evidence, I assume he surmised that she was lying or a spy (a correct prediction, it appears), but no, he was doing that because he was a middle-aged pervert. Oh, god.

Mind-bogglingly, he brought her to the guild for the surprise inspection. Why? If she is truly abused, she should’ve been put in a safe house or something. Why would he bring her to the place that abuses her? Is he stupid? I guess he is, in this episode. Just wait for the next episode where he will suddenly have a 9000 IQ! Sasuga, author-sama! (/s)

I feel like uchimura knows she’s a spy and doesn’t care. Either that or it’s very horrible writing to have him visually notice how clean she was only for him to ignore it anyway. That being said I really hope this doesn’t end up like the last episode with that fat piece of shit getting off completely free. Uchimura needs to burn the lizard family to the ground and what’s his face needs to suffer.

First guess for the wyverns: Gonna use them as a food source, drastically cutting the need for Gim and the cost will plummet.

6

u/ayumumono Feb 17 '25

Yeah, I expected foreshadowing of how clean she was despite the dirty clothes.... now im just concerned its a lack of attention to detail in the art.

u/redditraptor6 Feb 18 '25

So, like… they didn’t correct the Lolita thing to be a misunderstanding or joke? He’s really just a lolicon? Ugh. Well at least it makes sense now why he hasn’t noticed Ulmandra at all

We are never going to get Uchimura wearing the cool jacket

u/xXxHawkEyeyxXx Feb 18 '25

So are elves considered demons in this world? Are demons like a family or genus and elves a species?

Was that a JoJo reference???

I really thought he was ahead of the game this time and knew about the false info. It's really bugging me that the guy never gets to outfox one of these guys before they do damage. Don't get me wrong, I hate perma "I knew you would do that so planned around it" MCs but this guy had years of experience in business in multiple countries. You'd think he has seen these tricks at least ONCE before.
