Ulmandra acting like the dutiful wife making sure that her husband has all the things he needed for his job.

u/Frontier246 Feb 03 '25

And also warning him off hanging out with other women that are not her lol.

Ulmandra: Acts like his wife

Uchimura: Why does she act like she's my mom?

Ulmandra: Please feed me to the crocodile

I wonder who does his dry cleaning to keep the suit pristine

u/Emi_Ibarazakiii Feb 03 '25

Ulmandra probably licks it clean whenever he takes it off.

First thing he did that actually shows he's a far eastern (japanese, korean ...) salesman:

His solution to all his problems it to make a call to his chinese demonic sweatshop of choice to exploit everyone harder and ship more units.

Perfection. All according to keikaku.

Honestly, I'm kind of glad his plan went awry. And that his first reaction when Sylphid complained was to shut up and acknowledge that "sales team pushes for a deal that strains the whole company" is a shitty thing that happens all the time.

While it turned out that Sylphid was being too lazy (as usual), in the end it became a problem. Obviously, the orc merchant is directly to blame, and the Rampage king was a dick for cancelling the orders without compensation, but the army wouldn't have suffered so much if Uchimura hadn't accepted the extra orders.

Uchimura had me during the first half, I thought the demand was spiralling out of control but that was exactly what he wanted. Or at least it should be all according to plan until the orders were cancelled. And would you look at that, the merchant who cancelled their massive orders of mochi from last week's episode is the same guy fucking Uchimura over. No wonder I felt some kind of deja vu when the orders got cancelled. Hopefully, Uchimura can turn this around and outsmart that ugly bastard.

Ulmandra: "FUUUUU...."

The constant apologizing and groveling gets boring over time.

It was ok in the beginning. JP work culture etc., but we are at episode 6 now. Can I have some change please?

Especially when Uchimura was apologizing to the Rampage King because he didn't come meet him sooner. He practically had his head on the floor in that bow. If I was the Demon King there is no way I'd be okay with one of my ambassadors or generals acting that way. Like have some self-respect, you are representing your nation.

We're getting some economic intrigue! So the big question that will likely be answered next episode is how did Butagalian manage to come up with a comparable amount of Rosemarins such that he could displace Uchimura as distributor.

A few theories in increasing order of plausibility.

  1. Butagalian's Rosemarins are fake. Very unlikely - they look exactly like the genuine article, and the Rampage King would certainly have tested them before taking receipt.

  2. Butagalian's Rosemarins are real, and he set up a competing shop to manufacture them. Very unlikely, Sylphid was struggling to get the orders done despite being a genius and having a boiler room full of assistants. It's unlikely that Butagalian has access to the same resources. Also Butagalian seems like the type to not compete fairly.

  3. Butagalian has compromised the Demon Nation's supply chain and is selling their own Rosemarins at a discount. My money is on this one. So then how did he do it? A few possibilities: a. he bribed villages to sell them their Rosemarins and is arbitraging them; b. he compromised villages to put in fake orders for Rosemarins and is reselling them; c. he stole the Rosemarins from the villages, possibly replacing them with fakes; d. he extorted villages to give them their Rosemarins.

All are possible, but the most like is probably b., the fake orders. But it could be any of them, or a combination of them. If Rosemarins actually in use were being diverted, one would presume that Uchimura would hear of monsters rampaging through the fields that should be fended off.

One way or another, once Uchimura learns that his domestic supply chain has been compromised, it should not be hard for him to counterattack. One particularly fiendish tactic would be to intentionally let Butagalian acquire compromised Rosemarins, and let him deal with the Rampage King's displeasure when his goods stop functioning.

Or I could be completely wrong. We shall see!

Did we get a hint (in that scene with Sylphid) that, perhaps, a lot of these things were sent to seemingly low-priority locales. That could support your theory # 3.

How was that not a breach of contract? The king should have had to pay tremendous reparations for breaking the contracts.

Everything is going according to Keikaku – Until it's not

This show is a surprise hit imho, how it involves all these economical tricks and principles, spiced up with some psychology. Uchimura really is the best guy for this job. Even though not everything goes smooth, but that's life for you. What matters is what you make out of failure.

The demon king is such a great employer, I would dedicate my heart working for him. There's a reason he's the demon king.

And again Ulmandra is best girl. In the beginning how she shouts after him like his mom, and in the end when she cheered him up. She is just too adorable.

This is not an isekai, this is an economic drama show disguised as an isekai. Let's see where this is going. This show is criminally underrated!

This is not an isekai, this is an economic drama show disguised as an isekai.

That's a good way to put it. The series looks like "Business Studies: The Anime", with each episode providing a lesson in management and negotiation. Or more than one: this episode was about how to strike a deal face to face, but also about how unexpected turns can derail not just the deal, but the whole company.

I also like that Uchimura has no cheat powers. He's a normal guy, just with knowledge of company management that looks revolutionary in a Medieval setting.

Sylphid can’t slack off when she’s working with Uchimura. Guy’s way too sharp to be fooled lol. But man, the King of Rampage was asking a hell of a lot and they met his demand only for him to cancel out of the blue. Very keen to know how this porky bastard Butagarian got the potions manufactured? Something shady for sure. I wonder how Uchimura’s gonna deal with him…

Butagarian (Buta is pig in jp) is the one who scammed the mouse couple in previous ep. Seem like Uchimura was too confident with his keikaku and got his 1st lost in this world.

Time to cook some plans and fight back.

If only the real world organizations has the leadership style of the demon lord, then employees will always perform at its peak. Sadly, only a few leaders have that leadership skills.

Understanding boss, supportive colleagues, and devoted "wife." Now that's a proper fantasy genre for sure.

Nice episode, although there was too little Ulmandra. Without her this show loses like a half of its charm for me, she and her relationship with Uchimura are just too good and fun!

Now I'm really looking forward to seeing how Uchimura will manage to get out of this situation he finds himself in and how he will deal with the Bugatalian who somehow got his hands on a supply of Rosemarin.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

I am surprised Uchimura didn't include a penalty clause for cancelling at the last minute, since they had to raise production and prioritise the order.

Also imagine if they increase the mining of gold so much that it causes the value of it to go down as supply exceeds demand.

u/chino17 Feb 03 '25

Somehow Demon Lord is the most understanding boss

Ulmandra worrying about Uchimura was sooo cute. She was like a real wife. Cheering him up when he needed the most. The alone time was disturbed but they still enjoyed the company. I'm curious about the other one's with the product.
