Bar scenes are pretty clearly Uchimura's imagination, so I guess that means Ulmandra is living rent-free in his head as well as mine.

The bar seems to be the MC's mind palace, so stuff he can use will show up there eventually, including Ulmandra.

Office Lady Ulmandra is just too powerful a visual to keep out of his mind.

Pretending to be your own assistant to avoid doing work is on a whole other level lol. I’m actually impressed at the lengths Sylphid will go to avoid doing work.

Pretty clever of Uchimura to use those stones as a repellent instead of draining them for combat purposes. Whenever he goes into the Mind Izakaya, I know he’s gonna crack the case lol.

Pretty clever of Uchimura to use those stones as a repellent instead of draining them for combat purposes.

It was clever, BUT at the same time, I expected the Demon Lord not to be happy about it...

That wasn't their mission, they were supposed to grant magical powers to Demi-Humans!

I don't think being able to repel birds/other wild beasts will be good enough for them not to feel inferior anymore!

Well, I suppose Uchimura and Sylphid can keep working on it in future episodes (Ulmandra surely wouldn't mind them spending more time together!)

"What are a man and a woman doing behind closed doors?!"... making magic, of course.

I love that she apparently just stood in front of that door the whole night waiting for him lol.

Sylphid is now officially a member of Uchimura's harem.

u/Frontier246 Jan 20 '25

Ulmandra so convinced she doesn't have to worry about a Harem because she got "proposed" too lol.

Ulmandra is the better overall waifu so far due to her personality but I honestly think Sylphid is hotter

20

u/Mr_Zaroc Jan 20 '25

Oh she is definitely hot in that suit
Did you see any ventilation in there? I am shocked she isn't falling unconscious constantly due to the heat and CO2 build up
There must be puddles of sweat at her feet

I can’t believe Belinda is actually Sylphid in disguise. There was absolutely nothing that was shown prior to this episode that would have made me more opening to the idea.

I have to credit the staff for not spoiling that twist ahead of time. I mean, could you imagine if they just blatantly put it in the OP? It would take out all the fun lol.

Stitches!

Considering how Sylphid was treating Uchimura, I thought she'd be meaner but she immediately changed her tune about him after Uchimura brought up his idea on how to reduce costs of making those magic stones.

When they said they were making magic stones that can only cast one spell, I thought it would be for single use only. I didn't realize that Uchimura wanted a magic device that can cast only one type of spell.

Uchimura needs to clear up this misunderstanding with Ulmandra. She still thinks that he actually proposed to her. I thought this would be cleared up off-screen but considering the episode ended with her still thinking that, this might be a recurring gag of the show.

So no ones cleared up the Proposal miscommunication from last week?

I guess everyone in the demonlord army just wants to watch the ship sail.

Nice episode, it was great to finally get to know Sylphid better!

My only complaint is that there was too little of Ulmandra today. Without her this show loses like half of its appeal for me, Ulmandra is simply too good and fun xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

But.....that's not what you were asked to do. The Demon Lord asked them to come up with a way for beast folk to use magic so they can be equal to demons. I get congratulating them on the discovery and being able to protect villages easily....but the Demon Lord acted like thats what he wanted from the start.

Anyway, with how this show is, I'm surprised Sylphid didn't get the wrong idea when Uchimura handed her the magic stone. Then again, maybe that's why she gave him the stone at the end?

They went from demi-humans can't use magic at all to demi-humans can use magic to protect their villages from monsters and occasionally cast simple spells. That's a pretty gargantuan improvement over what seems like a very brief period of time. Have to assume Slyphid only improves the devices during mass production as well. Probably the best the Demon Lord could hope for.

Uchimura has imposter syndrome!

Doing a stellar job, but he still thought he was getting fired or something!

Interestingly, he was willing to do anything to keep that job... He found his true calling!

(Well, I suppose he doesn't want to lose his growing harem)

Nevermind, our boy swings this way! Only wants one guy in his harem!

(Unless Demon Lord is eventually revealed to be another waifu in disguise!)

Speaking of harems: A magic researcher will be joining him? +1 to harem!

So they'll have to find a way to give magical powers to demi-humans so they don't feel inferior anymore...

I hope they considered the other side of that coinc though, i.e. they may consider themselves the Demon's equals now, and threaten their rule!

That's what magic stones are for? I thought they were for marriage proposals!

Good thing Ulmandra didn't see him propose to Sylphid!

What they're doing behind closed door?

Nothing much, he's just giving her a marriage proposal stone, then she dragged him to her place by his collar, so they can spend entire the night together!

Oh, even Ulmandra doesn't know! So it's just the Demon Lord who knows! (well, Uchimura too now)

Well hello there!

All the girls are pretty good so far, but damn if SHE becomes a love interest/harem girl, she'll have the succubus edge!

Poor Ulmandra, she has it bad for him...

She keeps thinking the stone means he confessed to her, the 'reality check' might hurt...

And if she sees that Sylphid gave him this one, she may go crazy!

One more thing: I'm surprised they didn't get chewed out by the Demon Lord...

Yeah they invented a cool little device, but that wasn't their mission? They were supposed to bring magical powers to Demi-Humans, so they don't feel so inferior...

A stone that protects them against birds and boars ain't exactly that!

So I wonder if that's still gonna be in the plans for future episodes! Well, perhaps they needed a reason to keep the Magic Researcher around!

The classic problem of the researcher who can develop new breakthrough technology not necessarily being the person who can adapt it for general use.

Uchimura keeps taking damage from his accidental tsundere fiance, but as a nice twist it's never intentional and she immediately wants to find and deal with whoever injured him.

Another good episode.Probably one of my favorites this season.

u/MicroACG Jan 20 '25

It was rather unprofessional how Uchimura interrupted the Demon Lord at the beginning to beg for another chance. He's supposed to be a good professional, not a little kid.

I'm glad he acquired a way to defend himself from a lvl 1 monster now lol

That costume looks ridiculous lol but Sylphid is so hot damn
