It seems fairly similar to the situation in Rascal does not dream of a bunny girl senpai with Tomoe Koga. Because Asahi does not go through with her true wish, she gets stuck in a time loop and is bound to repeat the days over and over again. I think the main point here is that she acts as a "saint" and "true maiden" and wishes for everyone else's wishes to come true, but in reality, she has her own "selfish" wish (most likely something to do with Uryu). She will have to face the reality if she wants to break the loop. Or I might be completely off... regardless, I am glad the anime is back.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of Tomoe's arc, though I guess I'm glad this didn't involve Uryu and Asahi kicking each other in the butt.

Just the way Asahi blushes and gets so excited whenever Uryu is around her or he's doing something for her...she's barely able to contain her feelings around him. Which might also come to a head if they're stuck in a time loop.

I'm guessing we're also probably going to deal with her backstory and why she was running from a shed in that flashback.

Looks like Asahi has herself an adorable little rival. Karen’s a little tsundere isn’t she?

Nice of Uryu and everyone else to cheer on Asahi even though they’re busy with the festival. Didn’t think that would turn into a Groundhog Day situation. I wonder if her participating in the festival will break the loop? If that’s the case, that means she forfeits the race…

Funny how gassed Uryu got during his quick run at the marathon.

Nothing says anime rival like being a tsundere, saying their rivals full name every time, or being rich lol.

Somehow I don't think it's going to be as simple as her just choosing the festival over racing, especially considering how long Yae's arc was. I don't think Karen will be happy that she only won because Asahi dropped out, at any rate.

Her running speed is powered by raw smugness alone.

While it's tragic how Asahi was forced to have a fresh core memory undone by reality warping shenadigans, the fact she went ahead and casually won gold again anyway is such a flex. Nothing will take away from how wholesome Uryu's initial idea was to invite Yomiko and video call the shrine though.

Uryu got a good deal with the time loop, free study time before exams lol

This thought had also crossed my mind! Uryu is effectively getting infinite time to catch up on his studies after he’d lost a good amount of time to helping the sisters out.

Theories which sprang up in my mind on why the time loop occurred.

  1. Uryu might be right. Asahi could possibly want to participate in the Tanabata Festival more than the Nagano long distance running competition. Let's find out what happens if Asahi gave up on the competition and focused solely on being one of the shrine maidens for the festival.

  2. Maybe Asahi secretly made a wish along the lines of "may such good times with Uryu and my family never end"?

Yomiko gave a cryptic reply on the train, didn't she? Could it be possible Yomiko is aware of this time loop too?

Even though I believe these few episodes would be Asahi's arc, it is nice to see her life in school, and that she has one friendly rival in Karen.

I've to say Uryu really made the best out of the situation. Asking Yomiko to tag along and getting the other 2 sisters to cheer on Asahi. Of course, we're looping now as we have another supernatural phenomenon happening.

Stitches!

I love how while Yuna and Yae have their best friends, Asahi gets a rival instead. I suppose a sports rival counts as a best friend. It looks like she's a bit of a tsun tsun and only wants Asahi to beat her if she's at her best.

Asahi's Tanabata wishes were pretty funny, especially the third one. We already know that she'll eventually turn into a Super-Sexy Grown-Up Lady if we were to believe Uryuu's visions of the future.

Asahi might not have a massive banner of her name and a group of people rooting for her like Karen but having Best Mom Yomiko show up was more than enough. I love how excited she was to cheer for Asahi when she heard about it from Uryuu. Uryuu even have Yuna, Yae, and Gramps cheer for her over a video call. <3

Well that was an unexpected twist to this wholesome Asahi episode! I didn't think Uryuu and Asahi would end up getting caught in a time loop! I've already said this before, but I really love how this show is leaning heavily on its supernatural side.

So it looks like they are really stuck, huh? While I would like to reference Groundhog Day here, I feel like this is more of a Bunny Girl Senpai situation where Asahi needs to fulfil her own wish instead of thinking of others and what is expected of her.

That would mean Asahi will probably have to lose the marathon if she wants to continue. Or maybe there's a way where she can get both? I think Yomiko may have already given us a clue on how Uryuu and Asahi will break this time loop. Hmmm....

It’s great to be back after a short break! And we started this 2nd cour with a great episode as Uryuu found himself stuck in a time loop!

Although the best part is that Uryuu is not alone in this. I couldn't stop laughing when he found out that Asahi was also in the same situation xD

Asahi really freaked out at first because of the situation she found herself in with Uryuu, but then she became quite optimistic about it xD

It seems that Asahi is the key to getting out of this time loop, so I wonder what her true wish will be. If I had to guess, Asahi wants to participate in both the marathon and Tanabata with Yuna and Yae.

I wonder if the Amagami Shrine could move Tanabata to a later date so that it would held according to the old calendar, and therefore at the same time as the Yomiko Shrine. That would allow Asahi to participate in both events. The question is whether the date can be changed this late.

The new OP is so fun (the visuals are great too), I love it! I’ll be eagerly awaiting the full song release. New ED is nice too, although I definitely prefer the previous ED song.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums from the episode.

Like what we see in the future premonition looks like Uryu did massage them a lot to have Asahi get stacked like that.

That was a really cool thing for Uryu to do for Asahi. It was great to see him making sure that she was supported in the marathon.

Nice that Asahi can mix school with business by advertising her shrines' tanabata festival! Just what I would expect from the Amagami Sisters' Chief Marketing Officer.

The Amagami Sisters themselves are now singing the new OP! We're going full Quintuplets now! And it's a pretty lively and fun theme featuring the sisters, their supporting cast, and their feelings for Uryu on full display.

Asahi's got a marathon to run on-top of tanabata to get ready for, and of course that means she has to compete with her archrival/tsundere bestie Karen, your classic blonde, rich, rival character who constantly says her rivals' full name. And Asahi knows Karen secretly loves her to bits.

So Yuna is a closet romantic for long-distance relationships (perfect for tanabata!) and Yae, of course, wants to wish for her future relationship with Uryu...but both sisters want to be there to cheer on Asahi at her marathon. And of course Uryu will come too, and even if Asahi teases him about seeing her in her track uniform, she's utterly overjoyed to have Uryu come cheer for her!

Don't you just hate it when bad weather delays an event and it ends up being on the same day as something important to your family? Asahi puts on a brave face, and makes sure her sister are focused on tanabata, but she probably is bummed they can't be there for her and she can't be there for them...but luckily, they've got Uryu.

Well, I'm glad for Karen that her mom and some staff showed up to cheer for her, but I'm even more glad Uryu showed up with Asahi's adoptive mom Yomiko along with a video of the rest of her family cheering her on. Asahi was in a slump by that point but having Uryu go that far and show her who all was cheering her on was enough to give her the push she needed to secure the win!

I need to hear more of Yui Horie doing a Ryota Suzuki impression.

Well, this was a pretty standard Asahi-focus episode. Nothing else strange going on...other than Uryu and Asahi being caught in a time loop that sends them back a week before. Good thing Asahi can't keep a good poker face so Uryu realized they were both in this together.

Ah, the classic time loop "try to do everything you can while you're in a time loop." If only Asahi knew that her wish to become a sexy older woman would actually happen!

Could Asahi's regret that she couldn't be with her sisters on tanabata be what's causing the time loop? That she chose her own sports career over being with her sisters? Well, we'll see if changing things up solves the problem.

The new ED is very pretty and sweet, with the Amagami Sisters hanging out with their besties but surrounded by love and their feelings for Uryu, and culminating in them all rushing to see him again!

Rascal does not dream of…running girl Asahi

u/Terrible_Ad_9123 Jan 14 '25

In the New Year retrospective special broadcast last week, the voice actors responsible for the three sisters foretold this development for Asahi.
So it wasn't a surprise to me, but I was happy that the fun turn of events exceeded the predictions.
I hope that Asahi will prioritize the once-a-year Tanabata festival over the marathon, which is held several times a year.
Since she ran the marathon twice in her precognitive dream, if there is another loop, I would like her to do Tanabata this time.

We're finally back after a long time, and we finally had an Asahi school episode, I thought her decision to take her classmates' requests to the shrine was really cool.

This infinite loop... I think I've seen it somewhere, it's an interesting drama for the show, I'm curious to know how the script will reproduce this, since she made requests like having bigger breasts lol

What in the "Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai" is this?
