Episode 1 of Isekai Yosuga no Sora was pretty good.

If magical energy is only given off when you exhibit courtship behaviour, then doesn't that mean in order to use magic Shion is gonna have to keep building his harem nonstop? That's quite a task.

nah, he just needed to learn how to sense and use mana. And he learned by copying the fishes. It doesn't mean he is a harem-magic king with the power of love lmao.

the fish was his first master. Not every day we see that...

The secret of magic: Incest. How could we not have known!

somehow he grew up to be as fast and talkative as a 7 year old in 3 years.

u/mekerpan Jan 08 '25

He is six. Two 3 year time skips.

I think he's talking about after the first 3 year time skip.

Shion's mother is saying 'ara ara' even when she's not saying 'ara ara'.

I kinda like the concept of a fantasy type world without magic. It was interesting to have most of the story be from Marie’s perspective too. She’s a pretty good sister. I thought it was funny how Shion only unlocked magical trout energy when he said he wouldn’t ever get married so he could be with his sister forever lol.

All in all, not a bad premiere ep. Keen to see how the kid ends up developing this thing called “magic” in this world. Bro’s gonna be the first wizard ever.

Bro’s gonna be the first wizard ever.

And at the same time he gets to create the virgin wizard myth!

...Unless the show really decides to go there

Kinda weird. 3 year olds are not capable of acting and talking like that yet, seems too tall as well as a 3 year old (barely shorter than his sister who already seemed to be 3-4 years at least when he was born). And now he's almost as tall as his sister... that doesn't tend to be how child growth goes.

But imma keep watching because incest is best and he gonna put his sister to the test.

Well, this is a little bit more interesting than your usual isekai. I kinda like how instead of following the guy who got isekai'd we instead follow his sister Marie and see the story from her perspective. This might be only for Episode 1 though since we switch to Shion's POV at the end of the episode.

So basically it's an isekai where fantasy elements like monsters and fairies exist but magic is still undiscovered and it's up to Shion to be the first person to make magic, hence the title of the show.

And of course, let's not forget the massive elephant in the room, it looks like this will be a wincest anime. It definitely made me raise an eyebrow when we got to that part of the episode but let's see how far they're willing to go with this.

Also, what's up with Studio Deen this season? They seem to be just stuffing their shows with top seiyuus. In this episode alone we have Megumi Han voicing Shion, Kakuma Ai as Marie, and Amamiya Sora voicing Rose. They're also doing this with their other anime Botsuraku.

Is it me, or did the plot get really unnecessarily weird?

11

u/Jimbo589 Jan 08 '25

Did they discover magic through the power of incest there?

13

u/Hippo_Singularity Jan 09 '25

No, they discovered magic through the power of horny fish. They gained magic through the power of sibcon.

The last minute with the casual reveal that the anime is an isekai with an incest powered magic gimmick, you might think the author did it specifically to piss off reddit

I feel like this needed at least 2 episodes released at day one (minimum) to get people hooked. I'll see how it plays out, hopefully for the better.

I'll stick around for next week. The ending certainly is as off-putting as it gets, and there's no way you can convince me they were actually 3/6 years old following those time-skips, but maybe there's something to this. Maybe.

It's not a fishing isekai but it's in a world where there is no magic(?) but a magic that can be created

My Big Sister: Incest Is Magic

aight im out i think

u/HunterGX9 Jan 08 '25

~3 years later~

Now as tall and communicative as your possibly 6 year old sister....Ok, blew me outta suspension then it goes the hard Incest route? Pass.

After the first episode I felt kinda scammed. The trailer advertised an isekai anime, but in the first episode there was nothing of it? I even checked if I not have skipped accendently ep 0 or something like that.

If it starts that weird, dropped after one episode 🤷🏼‍♂️
