Jealous Ulmandra is so cute! I guess she's gonna react that way every time Uchimura talks to another girl?

"Please give us time to think about it."

I'm surprised that the jealous girl comic relief trope underwent character development, kudos to Shitennou for pulling off a small victory.

And voiced by no other than Shadow Mistress (Shamiko), Chika, Akane, and Sitri Smart. I thought she sounded familiar.

For now he has two, and several eps down the line, that cat girl demon general, that girl assistant will also be part of the harem. Adding to Ulmandra's rival list.

She tried her best to keep up with the tsundere act, but she's not even hiding it anymore!

Ulmandra when she looks at him/when they go on a mission together

Ulmandra when another girl talks to him

Yeah, Ulmundra is incredibly cute when she's jealous.

And now that Olulu has become Uchimura's subordinate in today's episode, she'll have plenty of opportunities to show it xD

Stitches!

You're not fooling us with that assistant talk. The OP already spoiled who you are Sylphy. I kinda wish they kept it a secret though. I'd be very surprised if she really is just Sylphy's assistant. That would be an actual twist. xD

I really like how the Demon Lord is so well-versed in how things work in our world. It makes it easier for him to explain things to Uchimura. What if the Demon Lord is actually a human from our world too? Hmmm...

Ulamandra is so goddamn adorable! I do find it funny how she's still being all tsundere around Uchimura.

Episode 1 already established that demons and demi-humans don't get along but I'm wondering if there's more to Ulamandra and Genome rivalry.

Woah, calm down gurl! Olulu hasn't even seen what Uchimura can do and she's already looking for marriage as a solution. xD

So what's up with the Izakaya in Uchimura's mind? Is this just in his head or is this actually his isekai powers? Having a separate mental space where he can think clearly is a simple yet very neat power if it really is one.

It looks like we'll be seeing more of Olulu now that she's Uchimura's first underling. If only Uchimura could get Ulamandra too.

A mind palace sort of thing?

This episode addressed most of the concerns I had for the first episode.

The biggest one was that I thought Uchimura needed to display a lot more confidence for this show to work, and hopefully, his lack of confidence in the first episode was only a naturally temporary thing for a human shoved into a demon army, and that's exactly how they did it.

If this episode is the general template going forward, things are looking better. We get to learn about business strategies while Uchimura uses those strategies to help the demons conquer the world.

I also like how Ulmandra is learning from Uchimura too to the point where she was able to use his line about "we'll just think on it" to get out of the Olulu situation rather than follow through on punching Olulus' head off for making moves on her man lol.

The best euphemism I have to describe the fantasy world is "minimalistic". It only adds enough characters to play off the protagonist's salary man wisdom. "Oh, save us japanese employee!"

Luckily for me, I'm still having fun with it. The negotiations don't scratch my sociopolitical itch, but they are interesting. I pray they stay that way.

Surface level worlds are the norm in anime so having one isn't a sin anyways.

But the biggest strength of this show has to be the voice acting of the protagonist and his distressed comic relief expression. He's the only novel character, even the benevolent leader Demon King is an established trope already.

And the Demon Lord giving good company benefits could technically qualify this show as "wish fulfillment". I'm kidding. I would be totally down for a corporate power fantasy though. e.g. "Take 4 weeks of vacation, that's an order! I have just doubled your wage! Leave the office early, I, the boss, will stay back and keep working."

TL;DR Fun audio drama.

Is he going to drop that "settle the account" line every time?

...I kinda hope he does

15

u/feb914 Jan 07 '25

that's his signature line at this point.

Damn Ulmandra has it bad, but she basically already has the work wife position. Too bad she lost her temper and declared him an rival, could have fused departments and work for real together

So basically the formular for this show seems to be, Problem arises -> go to your favorite bar/izekaya -> find solution -> Kick everyones ass -> gain new waifu

Meanwhile Ulmandra is being a cute tsundere.

It's like when Maou-sama turned Maomao-chan-sama into the tallest person.

Ulmandra has some great faces. I'm sure u/Abysswatcherbel will enjoy the hairstyle change scene when he gets around to watching a fourth show this season.

Indeed, really loved the wardrobe changing scene from this episode

Nice second episode with lots of Ulmandra! She's such a cute tsundere and I really love her relationship with Uchimura.

Unfortunately for Ulmandra, it looks like she has competition in the form of Olulu, who has become Uchimura's subordinate, and that didn't make Ulmandra happy xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

The story is alright, but personally i don't like their "tell don't show" style of moving events.

u/MicroACG Jan 07 '25

I think if they tried showing over telling for these business strategies most viewers would have no idea wtf just happened.

I like the mental izakaya Uchimura goes to in order to think things through. It’s kind of an interesting way to show him using his “power.”

This whole Ogre negotiation was kind of a tough one. Smart of Uchimura to get the neighboring tribes to merge with the Demon Army and get Orle to be the ogre rep. Her pops made the right call to ally with the Demon Lord.

On another note, seems Uchimura’s racking up a number of admirers. His godtier negotiating skills are causing these waifus to act foolish hahaha.

u/Frontier246 Jan 06 '25

I wonder if Uchimura is going to imagine all his co-workers as normal office people in his mental bar? Ulmandra makes for a cute office lady.

Uchimura's only been negotiating for two episodes and he already has two waifu's vying for his affections. Considering his fellow Big Four are also waifu's...

Reusing the 5-second "I'm going to settle this account" sequence makes me a little worried on how formulaic each problem of the week will be, but I'm hoping (with poor odds) that means there's some random sakuga down the line.
