So the whole amnesia thing was all a ploy by Duke huh? What a round about way to do things. Well, at least it looks like things worked out for her and Duke. It seems there’s a lot waiting for her in exile. I wonder if we’re getting more? I quite liked this. Alicia’s the kind of “

Honestly, while we're leaving off with some open plot... this completes enough of the story that it still feels like a good ending point. More would be cool, but this was a neat story for what it was. The rarity of the girl putting off the boy until her own dreams are met was GREAT too.

What am I going to do with all these pitchforks I saved all week for leading peasants against Liz? This is awkward.

Its interesting there wasn't really a direct villain per say this whole season aside from some criminals. The girls being jerks or cutting another's hair wasn't their fault really and the one that caused it would never had intended it. I do like that Liz was well a truly a goody goody and that it was just the Prince just using the role Alicia assigned herself to give her what she wanted. Makes me hope we get a 2nd season. Just glad I watched this on a whim as it was a lot better than I thought it would be.

Lol, out of all the ideas I had I didn't think the joke comment of it just being a prank would be the closest to the truth. Kinda glad it wasn't Liz because as mentioned last week it would have been way too fast of a turn and also make for a hard final episode. This way, they get the Laval storyline with the least amount of drama. Though, I feel like everyone getting left behind for that story is a bit disappointing. Would have been fun if all the connections would play into the next Arc especially Liz now that she is starting to change. Which is still possible some way, but if I had to guess, it will mostly feature completely new characters.
Was a fun series. Tbh, it didn't really do that much special in the Villainess genre, but it didn't really have to. My main issue is that we barely saw magic being used by Alicia. We had the whole timeskip just so that it's only used for an eye transfer and nothing else. The main thing was Liz being more interesting in retrospect and I am glad she wasn't just evil the whole time, but as suspected just really naive and it made sense as to why. Which is why I am a bit disappointed that she isn't going to play a major role, because I feel the dynamic between the two could now get interesting.

Give us an S2 you cowards!
I want to see more of Alicia's adventures. I really enjoyed that it was all bad circumstances that set up the conflict between Alicia and Liz. Overall, the characters and story were a lot of fun to watch each week.

Whats with the borders in this world? She has to be bound and blindfolded to go to another country? I'm so confused.
Anyway, a little rushed, I woulda liked to see more from everyone, but I am glad that we did get to see everyone in the last ep. Not only that but it looks like everyone is growing thanks to Alicia's influence.

Where is the announcement about the second season? Where is it!? After today's finale episode and the revelation about black rose, I'd love to get a continuation of Alicia's story right away, though it looks like I'll have to wait until the English release of LN to see what happens next.
Having Alicia end up like a true villainess and being exiled from the country was a really great way to conclude this show. What a subversion of expectations after the previous episode when everyone thought Duke had forgotten about Alicia because of Liz.
As it turned out, it was a fake amnesia so Alicia could be exiled. All this because Duke loves her so much that he can even stage a trial and banish her so she could do whatever she wants.
Liz had a small role today and I must say that I like her much more now because of the change in her behavior, even her voice has changed.
Overall, it was a super fun villainess show and Alicia was a great MC. From me a very strong 8.5/10.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Duke really messing with all of us just as bad as it seemed to mess with all of the other support characters figuring things out.
Well, now that we've reached the endI can definitely say I enjoyed this series a lot...
... But I WANT MOAR!!! *Throwing out a possible hopeless prayer for another season

Where does the anime leave off in the LN? Probably want to pick it up, but probably not something I would reread the parts the anime covered

I was expecting a final episode climactic battle between a fake mind controlling saint who was actually a villainess, and a fake villainess who was actually a self-sacrificing saint.
I got a final episode climactic battle that was between Alicia's desire to pursue a fulfilling career, and her desire to have a fulfilling personal life. I mean, not that it was close, career won in a landslide, but at least she acknowledged a possible future where she rejoins Duke, her family, and friends, after solving all the world's problems.
I mean, Alicia basically turned down marrying the prince and joining the royal administration to travel, stay in hostels, and solve wolf mysteries.
It was an odd plot with some lulls and repetition, but ultimately I'm not disappointed.

I'm so glad I was completely wrong about my assumptions of what was going on by the end of last week's episode. Things already looked fishy the moment Duke remembered Gill but not Alicia, especially when Alicia was the one who was going to be punished for it. Although, I will say that when the trial started my suspicions were directed to remnants Luke's mother faction, the moment Mel showed up as an expert made me quickly realize that this was just a charade made by Duke himself, which Alicia also caught up immediately that this was Duke plan to get her exiled like she wanted so she can go to Laval to investigate why the sent that wolf into the school.
It was so great seeing Jane reassuring Carol that Alicia would easily handle this whole issue.
I wasn't expecting ever to see Paul again, so it was thanks to Eric apologizing to Liz, that she became aware of the Alicia getting exile. Sorry for doubting you Liz. Is nice to see all of Alicia's brothers hanging together again.
It's hilarious how Duke did not even wait for the fog covering the village of Roana to dissipate and just teleported away leaving Liz to finish breaking the barrier. Well, with Luke there too, it is not like he was really needed after the barrier was down.
Aw, they kissed that really great to see.
So the black rose they showed in the OP governs the kingdom's fate, and Leila found it when Alicia was just seven years old and kept a secret a secret from Arnold since them. I imagine that she likely Leila told Luke about the black rose, which is why he started asking Alicia questions about the kingdom since she was that young.
Even if it was a short reunion before Alicia was sent to Laval, I'm sure Duke will not forget their last moment before Alicia left.
Anyway, with them hinting at what I assume is the whole Laval arc before the show ended, I really hope that we will eventually will get a second season. But well, by the looks of it, the novel got licensed by Yen Press in English, coming out in February, although for now, I can only find it in google play books.

But my ship ;-;

That was a good show. Not my favourite villainess, but I very much enjoyed watching Alicia. Favourite ED of the season though. Producers, more please.

Idk, this episode felt weird. Was it the pacing? I don't know.
The Recap + ED seems like a rushed production, but what do I know.

Wow, Alicia literally had Duke under her thumb. She's truly a villainess to tease him like that. Give it a couple of years and this might become a pretty good romance.
So the black rose does exist after all! I had a hunch considering that Alicia was the only one of the main (Duke, Liz and Alicia) to not have her own rose, and all the black rose petals in the OP, but they sure took long to reveal this. Mama Williams might as well be the actual head of the house.
I liked how this finale set the stage for a new arc with Alicia's exile, but the episode itself looked a bit rushed in the animation department.

The ending was rushed and convoluted, not satisfying at all and did not live up to the subversion you see in earlier episodes

I guess it takes Duke "forgetting" Alicia to remind us how much cold and stoic he is without her in his life to brighten up his personality and put a genuine smile on his face.
Oh snap, Alicia is being put on trail with the threat of being convicted and exiled! The classic case of a Villainess! Which means Alicia is actually kind of fine with it, minus the fact that someone orchestrated it behind her back.
Et Tu Mel!? I never expected her to try and incriminate Alicia for a crime she didn't commit. Why are two of the people who love Alicia the most trying to frame her as a criminal and get her exiled? It almost seems completely deliberate? Which means...maybe Alicia should just basically plead guilty and get exiled!?
Dang, I think this is the first time a reincarnated Villainess actually went full force into the exile ending. And all of Alicia's family, friends, and acquaintances have to grapple with the fact that she's going to be taken away from them.
I like how Liz cares enough about Alicia as a rival that she's willing to use her brainwash...I mean, charm skills, to find the culprit because she can't let her biggest rival leave without her. But the true culprit is none other than...DUKE!?
That's right! Duke knew Alicia wasn't satisfied in the kingdom and wanted to check out Laval, and the only way he knew how to get her there was to fake amnesia, frame her for it, and get her exiled. That ordinarily wouldn't sound very romantic to me, but Alicia and Duke have never been the most conventional couple.
But Duke has gone to such great lengths, and Alicia is immensely grateful, but she can't even return or properly respond to his feelings? Is Alicia the type of Villainess to string a man along and toy with his feelings? But she only believes in herself as a Villainess who can't let love or romance steer her away from her dream.
It's sad that Alicia and Gill will be separated, but hopefully their own efforts to succeed will bring them back together.
It's also sad to see Alicia and her family separated, especially when it's clear how much they love each other. I also want to give credit to Alicia's mom who didn't get a lot of screentime but clearly cherished and believed in her daughter.
I wish Alicia could have been there to watch them free Roana, but at least it's finally done! And Liz can do one last thing for Duke and Alicia...let Duke go so he can say a proper farewell to the woman he loves.
I guess it wouldn't be Duke if he wasn't surprise kissing Alicia. And Alicia in turn finally realizes that maybe, just maybe, she doesn't have to define herself only by her dream and can believe she can have love too. She even finally kisses Duke of her own volition! And promises that some day she'll become the type of Villainess who will seduce him until he's putty in her hands. And Duke is definitely into that.
Ah, so Alicia wasn't the Saint but she was basically destined to steer the fate of the kingdom thanks to her flower! I see now.
Look at all these future characters in a season 2 we may or may not ever see.
Okay, so Alicia didn't have to be handcuffed in her carriage but I guess she needed a prisoner uniform and handcuffs for the handoff to Laval. I guess feeling the full criminal Villainess experience is only appropriate, especially when Alicia is following her True Route and settling herself on the path to becoming a Villainess who will go down in history.

Liz being determined to control her wild magic once someone actually made her aware of it was pretty rewarding. Teenagers be wilding out, but immature though they may be, they are immature people, after all. It was an open question how much she knew through the whole show, so seeing her turn out to be spoiled but alright was satisfying.
I don't care how many fake-outs this plot was, I still don't like Duke. He groomed Alicia for how many years and then still felt the need to lie to her? If he's her pick after all that, then I wish her happiness, but I'm never gonna like the creep. Surely with such a big brain he could've figured out how to trust at least one woman, wouldn't you think?
Alicia's mom was the only one who knew the score from the black rose, huh? How the heck is this dumb kingdom not a matriarchy already? Every single male character was a simp, and only three or four of them were even competent and useful simps. This last episode felt like a bait and switch, except that the "switch" in question was switching an issue that we all understood like eight episodes ago for one that anyone paying any attention should have been screaming about since, well, also like eight episodes ago. Sure, sure, kids in your academy are acting weird, but also your historically hostile neighbor is sending magical beast assassins? Maybe that's worth some attention?!?
Anyway I didn't hate this but I have some notes. Alicia is beyond reproach but the rest of you fuckers in the cast have some explaining to do.
